So I just bought my 2nd M2. I'm gonna send it to Rob Roberts to get it dipped and drilled and tapped. Do you personally believe it is worth the money to get the forcing cone lengthened??? I'm really considering it just getting your 2 cents
I polished the bore and chamber on my Mossberg 500 w/ a 28" vent rib cut down to 20" and it is measurably more accurate now with rifles slugs and 00. The amount and directionality of drag affecting performance inside even a cylinder bore was surprising!
The method I used for polishing was to dip a chamber mop in Mother's Mag put that on a carbon fiber rod and chucked it into a power drill, took about 20 minutes of polish/inspect/repeat.
Alot of people like TSS ...HOWEVER I wouldn't give my WINCHESTER LONG BEARD (Magnum) for ANYTHING I've shot or seen...But that's just me & with the WINCHESTER Long Beard 3/3.5" # 5/6 I will gladly feel confident at 50 yards with the Older model PRIMOS TURKEY CHOKE on any bird
What length was the barrel cut to??? Why didn't you just say it in the video... Also, you're supposed to shoot red dot sights with both eyes open so the "field of view through the glass" shouldn't be an issue.
Not if your left eye dominant, like many are. You can try to dismantle my point I made if you want, but it would be a waste of time. This system works perfectly. The barrel was cut to 18 1/2”.
@@CalebRyan-TNCx Why would eye dominance matter? Regardless of what eye is looking through the optic, if the other eye is open and you're target focused, the window size doesn't matter as much. Thanks for answering my question about the barrel length, I'm trying to decide between 20" and 22", was worried maybe 20" is too short, but apparently now if you're using 18.5".
@@matthewthompson6357 my left eye will not allow my right eye to focus on the dot or the target if my left eye is open. Everything about this setup was thought out and intentional. Even if I wasn’t left eye dominant, There is no benefit for me to mount the sight further away from me…. None. On your barrel length, be fare warned that many gun techs will say you lose too much velocity if you go shorter than 20. That’s partly the reason I didn’t broadcast my barrel length decision. I have not had one single issue reguarding lethality. My velocity dropped about 75 fps. I’m still over 1k. But just be advised. Happy hunting.
No not factory unfortunately. On the benellis they will put in thin wall choke threads. (TruChoke). Choke company’s producing those threads are limited.
Awesome video guys! Everything about y’all’s hunt was awesome to me, great dog work, your calls sound great and I even like the “old time” swatting! Best video I’ve seen in a long time! Everything was so laidback and real feeling, I loved it!
You could, but it may not be ideal for other applications. Also, It would not be good for steel shot. The choke is too tight and could cause major damage. Use lead.
You just couldn’t bring yourself to TELL EVERYONE what the barrel length is? Tell people to post a question to get the answer. I bailed after that. Detail that would’ve taken you 1/2 second to mention. Wanting to fool that algorithm by having people post to find out basic info is just frigging cheesy.
Federal: *makes a shotgun shell with a built in choke* Idiots: *"This stuff really sucks when I try to run it thru a choke it doesn't require, its trash!"*
I have a 20 gauge M2 that I use for upland hunting and I love it. However I’ve been leery of using an inertia action gun for turkey hunting, since it has to be slammed into battery to avoid the “Benelli click,” and can easily be bumped out of battery. Have you ever experienced this?
I sure have. It’s become such a habit for me to constantly check for that during the hunt. It hasn’t happened to me in years, but that one time it did, I was miserable.
I THINK YOUR NUTS THE CHOKE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF CREATING A PATTERN!! SOMER CRUD HURTS NOTHING WITH A PLASTIC SHOT CUP. COME ON MAN!! CLEAN IS COOL BUT NOT THD BIG BDEALM YOUR MAKING OF IT!
What was the total cost of this set up including all the work done to it, the choke, sights, sling, & whatever else you may have added to the gun? I'm not questioning that it's a nice gun. If I wanted the "ultimate turkey gun", it would be nice to know the total cost of this set up.
