i think they are making a mistake here. they should just use the actual culture egion name that the characters represent. if you're making a game based on real religions\cultures why not use the real names of the cultures for the "factions". they are using the real names of the characters so it just seems weird to make up names for the factions.
The Jade faction is the Chinese faction. Jade was more valuable than gold and coveted by many Chinese emperors. It was so highly prized it became a distinct part of the culture and spread throughout South East Asia. I called all of these in your vid when they were revealed a few weeks back. I didn't call the name of the Ekur, or Jade factions but I did call them as factions, along with Babylonian and Mayan/Aztec, and Indian factions. Go take a look back and you will see it in one of them.
This is just lazy content. Ceiba is the tree that connects the human world with the under world in mezzo-American folklore . The gods of that region live in it’s branches. Ekur is the Sumerian assembly of their gods. What a disservice to the work that Fateless is putting into their game and tying it to real life histories and folklore. 100% a boss move by Fateless to connect the player base globally by using actual lore characters based on personal regions of ancestry. You’re worried about how the picture on a faction flag looks and 100% missed the bigger “picture”
Ceiba is definitely my favorite, it's a pyramid with the construction ramp, so effin cool. They were the first and biggest, suck it Egypt lol. The pan-Asian faction will be Mongolian and others, the Chinese is probably Qin or something like. The African is my favorite concept since my main exposure to anything African is Charlize Theron, Trevor Noah, Lupita Nyongo, Black Panther, District 9 and Chappie.
I'm ok with that sick skin being called a satyr, but the Aztec faction is unpronouceable, I mean unbelievable lol. They've gotta keep the flavor high but the phlegm low, I'm sure translations are coming. If not, you're gonna need some Ayahuasca and mezcal. Lemme know when, I'm coming over!
satyr is half human + half goat (can include goat beard and horns.., usually includes goat legs and hoofs), a zentaur is top half human + bottom half horse. those AI images are quite some bullshit in my eyes. always over the top. to make something realistic out of it will be a challenge.
Played some smaller gatcha games over the years - never saw anything as greedy as Raid. Then again, those other ones all failed. In some ways, the greed in Raid is actually an advantage for FTP players - you KNOW you can't compete with the spenders. Raid's Odin is way busier than the Godforge one. The color and focus are sharper though. I don't know if I care about that difference tbh. When I play Raid, it's mostly in the background - it's not some top notch, first person perspective game where I really prefer great graphics.
The biggest thing is if you're going to have tons of cool champs, actually have different, interesting and various team comps that work. Especially don't make a community fusion champ and secretly put code into the game to nerf him when the best team out there that is super pay to win, does 10 times more dmg. We need competitive balance.
Totally disagree tailoring tuess games for ftp. I mean wtf? This game is a business. Ftp should always be the bottom of the barrel in these games because they contribute nothing to the lifeline of the game.
Godforge needs to make every hero permanently available via summoning and it needs to have upgraded versions of common trash that can match the performance of legendary units. These are two things that Summoners War (the OG of this genre you were mentioning) is still doing which puts it ahead of even the best newer gachas. Make every unit permanently available forever and just make specific skins time limited. The summon rates will shrink with every new release anyway.
Why does it have to look so much like raid? You need to be able to tell by a glance what game it is and right now all I'm seeing is raid. if I did t know what I search for id think I'm Looking at raid right now.. They need to get an identy for them self...
I'm glad your son is ok. Honestly - I applaud the time schedule that they want to release this game in. I remember waiting what felt like years - 3-5 years for a gatcha game (Wuthering Waves) to come out. -_- It felt ridiculous. And by the time it did come out, things kind of just died for me. :( So, I'm glad that we won't have to wait long for this. :) I know that this is their first game and I know it's not going to be the last one. I really do hope Fateless succeeds as a gaming company. Also - yay for Beowulf being in the game!! He'll be great friends with King Arthur, I'm sure. :p

Please do not include hindu gods into your game . Many Hindus will be offended by this unless you make the gods invincible. I am assuming these gods will be vulnerable to death which is not okay. I have already reported your game to The Universal Society of Hinduism. Would you include Jesus Christ into your game then? You know the answer is no so for same reason have the same respect for our gods and religious beliefs
Glad to here that your son is unhurt. I'm still sure he, and all of his family and friends were shaken up by it. Leaking the leaks lol. It really does look sweet. If they nail the gameplay and monetisation, as they have nailed the artwork, then I'm all in.
I feel like the graphics are close. The Godforge Odin's armor is a little washed compared to Raid's, however, look at the hands. There is more detail on the Godforge side. But overall, I feel like Godforge needs some fine tune color / detail tweaking. It won't stop me playing the game though. It's certainly pretty darn good and it's not released yet, so... I look forward to playing it, hoping HH and team address all of Raid's pitfalls, don't get greedy, especially since they're probably amassing significant debt in current time, and don't get stuck bowing down to someone else. I think that is the biggest trade. Even if it were RAID 2.0, if it's more fair, higher QOL, still only "just as interesting" as RAID, but has a better pricing scheme and P2W isn't so off kilter, then I'd probably go with them despite the graphics, because again, they're pretty damn good, and will only get better. I'm hoping for utility of all levels in some form or another, like even leveling a common could have some value somewhere in the game. One of my favorite modes in an MMORPG I played years ago was a lower level dungeon PvP where nobody was over-powered. Was always a blast.

The gotcha mobile formula needs innovation, and what baffles me is that the computer games industry seems reluctant incorporate "randomisation" into game mechanics - by which I mean the sandbox formula is static where as gaming was birthed from the dice roll, and just having one roll inbuilt into the game mechanic would make the experience unique each time - so each round the combatants faced could be from a pool and you never know which ones you face in each round till the "dice" is rolled to pick those 2,3, or 4 enemies...
I hope that fateless sees your excellent video, #mtgjedi. Is there any background music in godforge? What are sound effects like? Will fateless be donating to any charities, sports, healthcare, etc? is there a story line in godforge? Will the maximum level of characters be at level 1 for the 1st fortnight to allow players to download the game before 1 person logs in 1st and gets to level 1 million and destroys all new players instantly? (Just random thoughts)
