Nice Job! I have made some of these also. Have you thought about making the handle material out of say fatwood? A consumable product like the ferro rod itself? I am not trying to be negative just that the ferro rod is consumable, and when it is gone you have a great looking stubby handle. I have several ferro rods made with antler and wood and after a recent discovery of a rod that deteriorated from storage I am rethinking my use and storage of ferro rods. I do enjoy making handles for my ferro rods, but something to ponder over a cup of your favorite Beveridge.
Same as the Ray Mears knife. What a sell out. His knife is O1 tool steel with a Micarta handle making it worth maybe $150 - $200. Instead it costs $500! Unlike you I have no respect at all for Mears.
