G-FORCE started out as a channel for my twin hobby interests: Gas Engines, and Drones. (They are not identical twins.) Now it's expanded to various adventures, reviews, and creations. What can I say... I have very broad interests! 😬
So if you do too, tag along and find out what I'll run into (or rather what will run into me) next...
A few facts about me:
-I'm Canadian (So I'll use metric measurements... mostly) You may also see some patriotic shirts/hats... 👍
-I like coffee... but sadly it can't be a hobby for me :(
-I am 18, but a very mature 18 if I may say that myself 😜 (Just ask mom! ... or maybe don't.)
-I don't have a lot of "$" so don't expect million-dollar reviews ;)
-And last but not least; did I mention that I'm Canadian?
Anyway, I hope you enjoy my videos, and I love feedback so please comment! Positive... or negative I need to hear from you guys!
Your videos on the ASC-2500 convinced me to purchase one last summer while it was on sale at Costco. I had a lot of fun with it, but when I tried using it for the first time this year the drone wouldn't connect to the controller no matter what I tried. I contacted customer support and they basically told me there was nothing they could do since the warranty period had ended, and they recommended I take it to a local shop to diagnose the problem. I figured that was going to cost more than what I paid for the drone initially, so instead I sold it for parts on marketplace and upgraded to a C-Fly Faith Mini (still waiting for it to arrive in the mail). Anyways, I credit you and those videos for getting me into the hobby in the first place so thank you!
I just got one last week and tried it today for the first time. One warning; it cannot handle wind. There was a light breeze here, and whenever I tried going in the air, the drone would just drift away downwind, even with full throttle trying to keep it above me.
Where do you find that eight digit number you have to enter. Nowhere on the packaging and the support video didn't help. I think I'll take it back and save myself a lot of frustration.
@@articcat9254 Oh Gotcha. Is it wandering or just wobbling? It could be defective. Try hovering at least six feet above flat ground, in as little wind as possible and see if it gets better. Being less than $100, these drones don't stay rock-solid in the air like DJI drones.
Pretty impressive young man! I first found your videos while search for reviews of the Ascend ASC- 2680. I too picked one up today from the same vendor. Can't wait to test it out. Hope yours is still working fine. Keep up the great work! 👍 Pat S. - Whitby, ON
If I were you, I wouldnt have recommended this drone at all. Its great that we got this drone relatively cheap at Costco, however, my son and I only got 2 flights out of it. Those pegs, or legs on the 2 front props are a weak point, and we broke the motor housing from a poor landing. Now the gear wont stay engaged with the rotor drive. Worst part is, you cant buy the arms for this thing, and that should be the biggest deal breaker for this unit. I should have bought 2 together so I could cannibalize it for parts, too bad Costco stopped selling it. In future, I will check the availability of parts before I buy again.
I can see that. Try ebay or fb marketplace, I've seen people selling some for parts. Crashing/wrecking your drone is also just part of the game! I've ruined three drones before this one. It's how you learn. -G-Force
My friend got his son this drone from Costco in the US, but no MicroSD/TF card, what is the max memory card size. I'm planning on buying him the extra batteries and memory card.
That’s super cool of you! I just use a 32GB Kingston MicroSD card. The drone’s camera quality isn’t crazy high, so it actually lasts for quite a long time. Hope that helps!
Son got me this drone for Christmas, did some flying all good. Tried many times to get app to work with my Samsung 21 android phone, just will not work! Looked for tech support and non available. Did find many others with same issue. Guess this is going back to cosco! Thanks for your great videos!
There has been some other comments mentioning this same problem. Seems to be a flaw in the app. I was not able to test it since I only have Apple products, but am considering writing the company on the issue. Seems pretty serious.
You can absolutely fly the drone without a phone, and you should be able to record onto the micro SD card as long as it is formatted correctly. Just press the right joystick down until you hear a beep, and see the drone's lights flash twice. Do the same thing to end the recording.
@@g-force2745 I wasn't able to get this to work. No matter what it would never record or take pictures without the app connected. Can you confirm this?
I can only take photo or video if connected to a phone. With SD card in the drone but no (iPhone) phone connection, it responds to the command to take a photo (leds flash) but nothing shows up on the card.
Make sure the battery is fully charged and properly installed, then press and hold the power button for a few seconds. Directions can all be found in the Manual.
Dude I picked this up like 3 weeks ago for $30 American at Costco and didn't know what to think of it. Now after watching both your videos, I'm excited to try it and glad I picked it up for such low amount of money. Thanks bro!
New to the Drone world, this was a gift from my wife... and I think tis the perfect drone to learn on. So much so, i am going to look into getting something a little better...but this is a great drone for me...
@g-force2745 How did you get the app to work? I'm trying to get this drone to work for my son and the app will not work and looking at the reviews on the app store everyone else is in the same boat.
