I want to see CDM Romero with a centre-back pairing of Dragusin & MVDV. If Macherano can be converted from CDM to CB, then see no reason why Romero wouldn't star in that position as his ball control & passing is immaculate. Plus, he's scary as hell.
Love your work guys, but how long do you need to winge about ticket and shirt prices. It's 2024, capitalism, and the reason the Premier League and Spurs attract the best players in the world. You can't expect Spurs to win the league without being financially savvy
I don’t want us to buy a no 9 that we’re not confident will be great. Would rather use the money elsewhere and give one of our youngsters a chance to shine as backup to Richy, you never know… look at how Kane took his chance back at the start in the Europa League etc.
I 100% disagree with the comments regarding club selling to each other for inflated prices. I feel that clubs like Nottingham Forest have had point deductions for trying to stay in the league. The rule is a young player being sold for fair market value. One player valued at £800,000 was sold for 19 million!
We could easily afford Williams wages.. Perisic, Kane, Lloris, Dier, Ndombeles wages all off the wage bill. Not saying Williams would come, but we've surely got loads of room now, plus there will be more leaving like Hojbjerg.
I’m wondering whether we’re looking at Ferguson at Brighton. He had a poor season so it could be a very shrewd signing while his stock isn’t as high atm
There’s also a good faith rule . Granted it’s hard to enforce however if any of those teams do get sanctioned the PL will be punishing then very harshly for embarrassing them basically .
Not many potential signings or links to get excited about. Better to tread slowly than get more duds. Id like to see 2 or 3 u21s promoted to the senior squad or actually use those who are being loaned out. Parrot springs to mind.
Solanke has a poor injury record and has had many more poor seasons than good ones. I wouldn’t be paying that much for him personally. Is he better than Richy ? Not sure tbh
Probably because Spurs are looking at 5/6/7 positions. A number 9, a winger, and attacking midfielder, a number 6, a left back, right back, and centre back. They won't get all of those, but those are the positions they're looking at. If they blow 50-60% of the transfer budget on Eze, they'll only be able to get another 2 or 3 players max, and they'll be cheap.
David is a two-footed pacey 9 from a non-traditional footballing nation. Sounds like Kyogo at Celtic. As long as we can find him in the box I bet David will score.
Let’s face it; finding a consistent Striker to score 20/25 goals per season is Almost impossible. Finding a striker to score 5/10 goals a season isn’t impossible but do you want that unless you have midfielders who are capable of bagging 10/15 goals per season.

Ali: Eze should be the One!! Geminiz watched him in the Cupa not sure if he is good enough for the Prem. I don’t work with Iscout Yscout or any other just what my Eyes see. Guestie U are Gold!

Prices are crazy on everything across the board because our collective leaders and governments are failing us. Their pointless foreign wars, global warming green energy scam and shift towards high tax socialism policies are who is to blame. The club is paying more for everything and they are passing the cost down to the consumer just like everyone else.
I’ve watched both David and Williams for a while. I really think David would fit well. He can do everything Toney can but he is younger and a bit less physical. Williams could be a perfect long term Son y replacement.
Love this and Everton a little bit more for knowing Rob is one of them… not LOVE love but more than other PL rivals Now just time to watch this before the 5pm warm up act 🥰
My thiught may be different from that of the majority of people. I've lived in the UK since 2006 and I'm not that sensitive to so called racist remarks. I'm not inferior to anyone and I honestly thought all the white people looked the same😅😅😅. It's not racist... I wouldn't take it seriously.
A Korean here!! After watching all the videos made by Korean RU-vidrs and news media about Bentacur's offensive comment, I can say, he isn't welcomed upcoming event in Korea and Tottenham better make this right before the event. Sonny isn't just a football player to Koreans, he represents the country. Bentacur's mindless ignorant comment shows what he truly think of Sonny and Asians in general.
Too much... I am Korean living abroad and I don't get offended by such comments. I'm not inferior to anyone and I feel the same when I see westerners. If I said it it wouldn't be a racist remark, but if a westerner said it it would be one. Not fair, isn't it?
If an Asian said to Alasdair Gold "you Europeans all look the same" would Mr. Gold feel wounded and broken ? Of course not. Alasdair would think " thats a bit out there"! and get on with his day. This is another journalist with his faux outrage stirring up division to get clicks.
Was it a really bad comment? Yes Was it ignorant and disappointing to hear? Yes Was it funny? No Is it racist? I don't think so, honestly. Is it justified? No, as well. And as a black African, I'd feel the same if he had said Southern Africans or Africans in that poor statement.
It is disgraceful what Bentencur said and Koreans have a roght ro be offended. Imagine if he said that about Udogie, there would be absolute carnage. You will get brain dead morons who think it is ok, a professional sportsman should know better
Regarding Dragusin and celebrating defensive action, in basketball if you block a shot at the basket it is celebrated as if you had scored especially if you stuff the shot
Lived in Japan for 20 years; we also look the same, have big noses and are outsiders/foreigners....there are comedy skits (Japnese version of black face)....despite this I found them welcoming and friendly.
We have to understand it and not be self-righteous, We can't be indignant because the Bentancur comments are ignorant not malicious. A symptom of cultural difference rather than any attempt to disparage. Race is not something that can be joked about these days, and it was a stupid and ignorant thing to say by western liberal standards. Hope Sonny doesn't get lumbered with cleaning up the mess and hope Benny grows up and says sorry to everyone.
A few years ago, U20 World Cup was held in Korea. At that time, Valverde of Uruguayan national team did a "eye-tearing" goal ceremony to Korean fans at the stadium. They even took a picture of the whole team after the game, which most of players made "eye-tearing" gestures. Bentancur was also in the Uruguayan national team. I strongly advise Bentancur not to come to Korea next month. What would have happened if Sonny had told the same joke on Udogie or Bissouma in TV interview in Korea?
Was Bentancur doing the said gesture as well? Unless he was seen doing the same slanted eye gesture, it's a huge stretch trying to punish him for simply being in the same team as Valverde. Are all French NT players pedophiles because they played with Benzema? I don't believe he did it with any malicious intent. Given the history of Uruguayan players, it is evident that they are unfortunately very ill educated on a such matter. He should be participating in the preseason tour and apologize.
Bentancur has obviously shown his true colours. He is Racist, from a backward third world country. Koreans must boycott the match if Rodrigo goes there in preseason.
Hi Alistair good podcast as always, I like to make a comment on what Bentancor and what he said, it wasn't right but I feel he was being sarcastic against the interviewer because he said he wanted a Sonny's shirt but if he couldn't get that anyone's even if was a relative of his so it could be anyone's because they all look alike I feel that was aimed at the interviewer not aimed at the South Koreans
The thing about Bentacur's comment is that it's now Sonny's problem to fix, even though he had nothing to do with it. As the person the comment was about and as team captain, it will be on him to smooth everything over, which really sucks, because it puts the onus and responsibility on him when he is not the one at fault. I like Bentacur and I don't think the comment was malicious, but it was massively massively disappointing, and he should certainly do more than an Insta story to make public amends.
Racial stereotyping is not ok but i dont think bentoncur's comment was meant w/ any real malicious intent, however it was still a very stupid & perhaps naive? Thing to say
