to me the worst music comes from people who have been making music for a while, because they've had every chance to improve and somehow, they haven't. As atrocious as "Snake Eyes" is it's also one of the first songs she made, and while I generally don't care for her music as a musician myself (not an expert, mind you), I can definitely say she has improved both lyrically and musically since her first album. and Jojo Siwa, well...
8:51 Damon had every right to get frustrated at Demon Days Live because Shaun practically shouts and slurs the lyrics. It's one thing to try new things with your voice to make the song better or just different, but yelling louder than the stage band is considered rude and self-centering. Even if Shaun was having substance abuse issues, it's clear Damon had to tell him multiple times before finally snapping at the disrespect at one isolated instance. As you said, there have been many instances of Shaun doing this type of loudness blasting but only one instance of Damon's harsh reaction. In Shaun's defense though, if my accent was enough to change the name of the song, I'd be a bit ticked too.(Of course that doesn't mean civility isn't an option.)
I've never watched the 2019 version lol, I didn't even know it existed until the discourse about if the Moomins is considered an anime because it was animated in Japan. The 90's version has a special place in my heart though, because that's the version I watched when I was a kid
I'm watching in 2024. That marker is important because I have a tradition where every time I visit my hometown I tune into the local rock station until I hear "Outside" by Staind. It's never stopped being overplayed since it came out in...forever ago. Everyone liked it at first. I liked it. It's a fine song. The first ten times. After that you couldn't pay me money to listen again. It's nails on a chalkboard. I don't want to hear anything that band made ever again because of it.
I think you should listen to Trout Mask Replica and do research on it for a video and tell us your thoughts. It would have been a good fit for this video, but its such an iconic cult classic that everyone needs to listen to at least once!
Bruh is it because I'm high or are you ABSOLUTELY FUCKING HILARIOUS. That little "Yaaay! I did it!" 23:51 had me rolling 😂✨ I loved every bit second of this 24:33 and this... Omg just... Just watch this right now, this was so funny...
So I actually like Dance Monkey, but that's in part because I worked as a cashier at a grocery store and all I really wanted was a pulsing beat to scan to. It's kinda like edm with a piano instead of bass, which gives it an advantage on crappier sound systems that usually cut off the deeper bass. Especially good, the timbre of the voice is unusual enough (and possibly pitched perfectly) that it really catches the ear so in a loud environment I don't have to strain to hear any part of it. The song also tells an interesting enough story to catch my attention. For me to fully enjoy a song, it needs to be essentially an essay poem or it needs to pretty explicitly tell a story. The implied exploitative relationship between artist and consumer is more unique than average. I appreciate that in a song
Dance munkey, literally is in the title. It should be a song played every so often but what ruiled it was it being over played and ironic how at concerts they'd say "dance monkey! almost like an insult. your list is pretty meh/mid
Speak it mountains disrespect? I think it's a kind of cool song that I thought was about being about to go on stage, and the nervousness accompanying, hence "It is the dawn," the countdown, and tranquil noises at the end. Also Aspen forest is about playing live and the ecstasy you get from it
I would defend Tom MacDonald as merely conservative rather than outright regressive, but you’d assume I’m part of the problem and I’m splitting hairs on Tom MacDonald and his farm, eieio… crap.
Hot take, mojo Siwa’s karma isn’t bad. If Jojo never made it and Britt smith produced it, it’d just be another song no one remembered as good or bad. The only bad thing is jojo’s new look and style.
If you want something Annoying, Cringe, Offensive made by hateful figures, with plenty referments of sexual , listen to TORSO F*CK ... it has everything to make you feel sick for an entire month. *U
Idk if you were dissing the fact that I Admit - R. Kelley was a long song; I am here to say just ‘cause a song is long; it doesn’t mean it’s bad! Tarkus - ELP (20 minutes) and Rollback - Frozen Planet 1969 (22 minutes) are extremely good, despite their length!
its interesting how you ranked the songs I liked how you made categories. the song you mentioned are probably bad most of them Ive not listened to so. I think the songs you said are bad lots of them its kinda obvious cause it deals with denying abuse theyre obviously gonna be bad. Im gonna defend dance monkey cause I actually like that song idk why people hate it so much. Im going to go as far and say that when it was first released I actually really loved lmao. I also think sticker by nct is bad (there is people who like it) its just the scrathy flute sound that pisses me off
Local [vs the metaphoric Global *worldmusic sux] assumptions, Money, incentives, shelf-life'd taste, bad "culture", and non artists [not to mention how people make bad assumptions incomplete of a proper whole: NOW! on-line *e.g. shelf-life'd audience "cohesion" acting as authority & mouth piece for said lacking whole, when really they are closer to another hole re: what they put out. Not you, here, per se. Just , simply; as a rule.] Copy X Paste X former factors = Bad "Muse" ic. [from bad math] done [audience paying? yep] done & done [delusion and cosigning it en "masse"= answer] The FACT that there is no Music Industry left outside of what currently is populating bad dance vids on TikTok is the iceberg top one would start at to get at the whole.... Urban and rural horse sh!t dont help neetha [see: bad culture. as in, not true]
my strict mental hygiene regimen has protected me from ever having heard any of these songs. the music industry is trash and spotify is evil. support your local music scene. 🤘
16:30 is legitimately one of my favorite songs from the White Album because it sounds to me like Everywhere At The End Of Time, one of my favorite albums. I think knowing what it represents is important too, since it is trying to emulate what it's like to be on LSD and other drugs.
I like Dance Monkey because of the unique vocal performance and because of the lyrics and production, plus the bass hits hard I can see how its greatest strength (its vocals) can also be seen as its greatest weakness though
I feel sorta bad for Demondice. She seems, harmless enough I guess and her other alter ego I genuinely do enjoy at times. But good God, Snake Eyes truly is just awful in every way.
Oh how I wish to understand the hype for Empire Ants... I just find the first half so forgettable and while the second half is a lot better, it feels like it lasts too long. It's not a bad song, just not for me.
