Hi there! Markus here, been working as a photographer since 2003 and playing around in Photoshop since 1996. On my channel I share some knowledge and BTS from 'real shoots' for paying clients, both photography and video.
Thanks, nice to hear that! 😊 Two trips in the Swedish and Norwegian wilderness planned in a couple of weeks, hoping to catch some epic scenery and hyperlapses with the drone.
Thanks! I use Envato Elements for transition templates, here is the ones I used in this video: elements.envato.com/transitions-with-animated-titles-typography-AY9N95N
Nice video, thank you! I personally think the flares are annoying and I don't understand the hype about them. As you said, maybe it's kind of cool at first if you've never seen them before. I rented some anamorphic lenses a little while back and the flares got old and annoying very fast and I wished I could turn them off. The flares are what makes me hesitant to buy anamorphics. But at the same time, anamorphics look amazing so....I guess it's a compromise.
Yes it can very easily become too much, I agree. Just posted a new video from yesterday where I used them in sunset inside a moving car. It is very delicate if you get just the right amount of flare or waaayyyy too much 😊 But I think’s it’s a funt thing to experiment with. Would not use all anamorphic on a client shoot though!
Sorry, but this isn't possible to replicate :( the price for this lighting setup is huge at the begining. Would be good to make a video how to make this kind of photos in cheaper way.
You don't need the flashes he's using to replacate this in a studio. You can buy cheaper corded GODOX flashes for mid 100's new or less than a hundred second hand. You wouldn't want to replacate this exactly either. The background lighting isn't even and her feet has cross shadows which is unappealing to the eye.
Hi! Use the search phrase "porsche cayman s 987 tail lights led". You will get lots of results, they come in somewhat different versions. I am not 100% sure but I think these are the ones I have: www.ebay.com/itm/284565765726?itmmeta=01HSR7MVX898HKF0JQTKXKFM2D&hash=item424170fe5e:g:41oAAOSwXvFhZWYk&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA4L3mKbFB1ywrNUudUFMXqMJCOF5kZZthQ0YrgR1VDBbbkpmCMS7Uus44%2BUH4xUHn2QzJtALaraVSV4rSGzaGpwDDljleT1A6jt87W3dXCAgFFiItmFC2fnpMhTxfkpFpIBOc00Mge20uD97Cv6mpDxDdBClHJJLMazKqx6a7yAArySLT0iUktaodJLgFM%2FtXULA4TnHJmE19qHfG01nrHiQv5Dv7f5kiz2X0zhsn%2FFAmu1tC39Iwmf9xdYu%2FRcBIiPwtfHzcRSbYiMdl2%2F79zDmi82ZYvFmmbs411u7xEeH1%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR9y-04fOYw
Really lovely to watch ☺ If you had the time (not sure though...😉) it would be extremely helpful to walk through how you light scenes outside the studio. What I mean is going more into detail about the decision you make regarding lighting - where to place the lights, what kind you mood (and hence why you choose this over that), what kind of modifiers, when/why you use more than one light - the placement, decisions about when to turn up/down the ambient outdoor light or the flash power etc. Hope it makes sense 🌱Anyway great video - hope to see a lot more coming from you. I am a new fan from Copenhagen 🤩
Thanks for your comment! I will keep that in mind next time we have the opportunity to shoot some BTS. :) For the outdoor photo shoot in this video we only used ambient light, which was specified from the client. They wanted all natural, no flash light or lights for the video part. This saves a lot of time! I'll keep it in mind on my next location shoot!
I would say no. The shutter speed is the most important thing you want to control to get the desired background motion blur, not the aperture. With Av mode you set the shutter and have no control over the shutter speed when the light conditions change and so on.
Ok, why? Like I mention in the video, there were a lot of different light scenarios with different color temperatures and often also a mix of different light sources. To manually set the white balance would only result in even more work in post production, because every different location needed different adjustments anyway. I understand that manual WB keeps the white balance fixed, but with the given time frame I didn't have time to manually dial it in on every new location since we were moving quite quickly from place to place. The whole thing also needs to be done during normal production. So in this case I felt Auto WB was the best solution.
Hi! Ebay. Just search for ’porsche cayman 987 tail lights’. There are lots of alternatives. Mine are red/clear, not smoked. But there are smoked ones available as well. They work great, super easy install, three screws per light.
Haha, I know, it was a stupid thing to do, and it hurt like hell... But I did not expect it to go that fast! The thing is that I lose SO much fine control with gloves in the micro movements if I am using the left stick, right stick AND the gimbal control at the same time, which I want to do sometimes. I fly/shoot 100% manual.
Beautiful! Oddly enough, the trees @ 2:22 were my favorite. Not sure why… Thank you for going out in those temperatures. I’m pretty sure I may have died from exposure.
Thank you so much! :) Yes, the snow covered trees on small country roads are something special! Unfortunately I did not have time to shoot more than one clip of this because I had to drive around the lake to time the sunset from the correct angle. And yes, the cold is almost extreme in some parts of Sweden this winter. Like I said in the beginning of the video, I actually froze my fingers in just a few minutes, and I could still feel it a week afterwards :O
@@SHOOTITFilmPhotography Damn! That's shivering cold for me. I live in the tropics so we consider anything that gets below +25 Celcius as very cold here.
At the time this was filmed: 3M Matte black wrap, new (thicker) leather steering wheel, new Brembo brakes and pads, MAK 19" rims, Bridgestone Potenza tires, LED spars, Carnewal GT exhaust, Porsche OEM exhaust tips, eBay rear LED lights, PORSCHE badge letters on the rear hatch, moved the Cayman S badge to the driver side door, tinted windows, OEM sport shifter. After that, I've added H&R lowering springs and changed the wrap to royal blue. Probably some more smaller mods.
Excellent video. Thanks. I have a question. You said that the client could see a preview of the photos on the iPad. So, the preview that they saw was the raw image without the color temperature correction. How did they react to that and how was their reaction when they saw the final images? Did they know that you were going to fix the colors?
Thank you! Yes and no, I shoot in RAW+JPG SMALL, but it is not the JPG nor the RAW file that gets transferred to the iPad, it’s an even lower quality version since the Canon Camera Connect app only ”peeks in” on the memory card. The canera has to be on and connected for this to work. You can transfer files as well but that takes way too long. I have done stuff for them before so they know my skills, so to speak. I informed them that the background was gonna be changed to a cold/blue tone in post and they were ok with that.
It's Peak Design anchors. What Hasselblad model do you have? If they don't fit, just use an extra metal ring that attaches to your camera which you then can attach the Peak Design anchors to.
Thanks for the informative and high quality video, I have a question though, when you move closer to the model the light settings should change or because you set everything to manual it does not? how do solve that issue plz? :)
Glad you like it! No, nothing changes when I move closer to the model. I always shoot in M-mode, with the aperture, shutter speed and ISO set manually. The flashes are also in manual mode, since there is 100% control of the environment in a studio. So everything stays the same since everything is set manually. I never use TTL on the flashes or Tv-mode, Av-mode, P-mode or something like that. No reason to do that when you're in a studio.
Great video and it's funny seeing how so much of the work BTS looks so standard and boring but then it turns out really well. BTW that soundtrack is probably the 5th time I've heard it used in a different corporate video!
HAHA, tell me about it! I recognise the stock music I have used myself in SO many videos here and there on RU-vid, in corporate Instagram reels, ads etc... I guess Artlist is pretty popular! :) And yep, the true BTS is not really that fancy without music, grading, graphics etc. :)
