My fur baby is a Border Collie/Lab mix. During the summer she gets such itchy skin from the heat. I put hydrocortisone lotion on it and give her Benadryl from time to time.
My pup has hives really bad. I’ve given her Benadryl. When that didn’t help I took her to the vet and they gave her prednisone. Still didn’t help so I’m looking for help.
Wow really ,warning do not give your dog anything over the counter for dogs eyes, go to a pet store and get the meds the vets use! My dog had conjuvititis And he was put on meds that are made for dogs cats, and other animals !
Why not cats? My white cat suffering terribly( skin itching, scabs). Also 4 year old small dog suffering but 8 year old Yorkie is fine. Fleas maybe a bit possibly. Spray coconut oil on the area, and also put stinging nettle powder in the food. ( antihistamines. ) from UK.
What about a kiss from the doggy gate? Happened last night. This morning she seemed ok, but after our walk I noticed she was squinting and now after eating, she's closing it altogether and trying hard not to let me open it. Either that, or some allergic reaction from chewing on plants from the garden? I just hope her eye will heal. :(
That drawer test should be banned, it can (has) cause more damage in a weakened knee. Knowing that it is highly likely a tear or full rupture why risk the extra damage.
I like you! This new-to-me vid was funny and informative! 😅 BUT...😢 Why oh why doesn't anybody talk about ITCHY EARS???? Finally tho, I have found a natural medicine that I can even put in my German Shepherd's Food!! YAY!! No funky gunky ear gush for my Boy!! Crossing my fingers - it should be in my mail box any day now. Thanks tho! ~❤~
I gave mine to the vet, years later the cat is still.in their cage and the only thing it can do is shit, this condition also happends when incest is involved
I am against neutering your dogs or any animals. The homones are so important for the dog's health. My great dane female isn’t neuter. I am not going to neuter her ever. If you wouldn't neuter your kids, why do it to your dog. The dog population. If you can't be responsibile dog owner with a dog, especially a neuter dog you shouldn't have a dog. If you think its ok to neuter your dog before age of 2 you shouldn't have dog.
Hospital gave me anti inflammatory pills and pain pills. After taking these pills my dog went back to normal… 6 year old Malapoo.. he seems to be okay.. afraid it will return. He very frisky..
I have a 15 year old dog and she's having many illnesses . First her eye has what looks like a bubble on her pupil then she's going deaf and she has a dry cough then there's hard cysts or knots around her nipples . I don't know what to do . I'm a senior citizen on a fix income and I can't take her to the vet . Do you have any recommendations to help my dog ? Is there anything I can do for her ? Thanks and BLESSINGS to you ❗
Hi @Dr. Cliff! :) ~ I am working on yt video project about Opossums and I was wondering if I could use some of your Opossum footage❓ (I would credit you of course!) 🙏
The cost of the surgery is insane.. A TPLO actual cost, excluding the vets time is $1,200 to 1,500 USD. But vets typically charge $6,500 to $8,000. This is akin to extorting the owners emotional attachment.. Also usually within one year the other ACL in the other legs tears. They don't tell you that either. I suggest you consider non surgical options especially in older dogs. Such as the custom braces offered by Animal Ortho Care.
I've searched for so many reactions to Jim Gaffigan, and RU-vid only shows me stuff I've seen. And doesn't bother to show me this until 2 years later? Absolute garbage platform. Great reaction though.
How is Tiny now? I am a shelter volunteer and foster in Connecticut. We currently have a 3 month old kitten who survived both roto virus and pan leuk then a pretty bad inflammatory process that pinched a nerve in her spine causing her hind legs to be weak and drag, also she got a bad bladder infection and started leaking urine which snowballed into scalding. One vet wanted to euthanize her but her foster mother refused and took her for a 2nd opinion. I do agree this kitten is a fighter, she was eating, drinking, playing and purring with ferocity and even though she had the scalding she didnt seem to act like it bothered her, it just looked awful. The 2nd vet prescribed menuka honey and with round the clock care expressing her bladder and keeping her dry she healed very well. My question is can she recover with PT or is the dragging permanent? She seems to have forgotten how to walk bc shes so adept and fast with dragging! She zooms around the room by dragging and shes fast! When we work with her to try and get her to walk in PT, she will do it but she gets annoyed bc shes like, "Why do this when dragging is so much easier!" But she has feeling and she can stand, her legs are just weak....I think its muscle memory loss and forgetting. These bacterial/fungal/viral infections out there in the feral colonies are horrific. Humans need to do better and spay and neuter their pets, and also every town needs a spay and neuter mandatory policy. T&Rs! There is no excuse not to do this. Same with dogs its getting out of control and the euthanasia rate of healthy adoptable animals is sickening especially in the southern USA. Thanks for reading. 🙏💜🐾
Hello! Do you happen to have an update on thIs kitten or if you ever got anymore answers? We have a kitten who is experiencing the same thing but the vet can’t find anything wrong with her. We can’t afford an MRI or spinal tap but we want to help her as best as we can. She is the sweetest and cuddliest cat ever! Anything would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
If you are a an actual DR then that says enough about North American education. I have been researching this for some time and NONE of the points you mentioned were reasons. You can’t even title the video right and your videos are full of click bait titles. Why are you talking about dog fashion in a video about neutering a dog? And why do we see none of this idiocy in Europe? Hipster beards, half sleeves, illiteracy and I have never heard a doctor look down on people for their thoughts no matter how stupid here. It’s all passive aggressive, sarcastic mumbo jumbo. Either you aren’t a doctor or the NA region is in serious trouble. Good luck with your “I kissed a mule” title yt videos. If you wanna talk about something hilarious, reflect. Much love from Europe.
Hello my name is robert i have an old dog that is Is border calling he has a huge lump under his eye like on his cheek is close to covering my dog's eye with four bumps as well
Better Vet provides In-Home Veterinary Care. From the Better Vet article titled *”5 Cat Food Ingredients to Look For & Ones to Avoid”* *Written by Dr. Joshua Montgomery • Medically reviewed by Laura Fontana, DVM Updated on 09/28/2023* *”1. Proteins* *Cats are obligate carnivores, meaning they need a source of dietary protein to thrive. Protein is a crucial component of every cat's diet, providing essential amino acids necessary for the growth and repair of body tissues, including muscles, organs, skin, hair, and nails.* *When choosing a cat food, the source of the protein is just as important as the quantity. Named protein should be listed as one of the first ingredients on the food label. A named protein source indicates that the protein is coming from a reputable source rather than a mix of various unknown meats.* *Look for high-quality, named animal proteins such as:* *Chicken, Turkey, Beef, Lamb, Fish, Organ meats* *How Much Protein Should be in Cat Food?* *According to the AAFCO (Association of American Feed Control Officials), cat food should contain a minimum of 26% to 30% crude protein by dry matter for growth and reproduction. Cat food containing this ratio is considered to be nutritionally complete and balanced.* *The Impact of the Amino Acid Taurine for Cats* *One unique aspect of feline nutrition is their need for the amino acid taurine. Unlike dogs and humans, cats cannot synthesize taurine from other amino acids, so they must get it directly from their diet.* *A taurine deficiency can lead to serious health issues in cats, including heart disease and blindness. Taurine is found naturally in meat, especially organ meats like heart and liver. Thus, a cat food rich in named meat sources is not only a good source of protein but also of essential taurine.”*
I saved a dog, cannot find the fleas after it left, I think I saw one, but anyways, I feel grosse and keep getting little bites that are NOT bed bugs I live in Detroit and those i have had to chase out before also. What is up? Dude the zombie apocalypse already hit from fentanyl. If EVERYONE was a vegetarian more life would be snuffed out from poisons than ever in history. LIKE ATRAZINE you must be high on.
Absolutely can. My wife and I have been in the care of cats (including special needs animals) for over thirty years. We started feeding our cat family a fully fortified plant based diet over a decade ago and have never had healthier animals and that's been quantified by our veterinarian AND Dr. Weisman. We feed them Evolution daily with distilled water and occasionally treat with some of our food thats acceptable. They love peas, lentils and squash, some fruit as well as oat milk. Like most people, cats are lactose intolerant.
This was a good general cover of dog allergies and it's so helpful to find, as those of us with pet allergy sufferers feel desperate to help them. For those on strict budgets it's especially challenging as Apoquel is VERY pricy, especially when your pet needs it nearly year-round, as mine does. My American Akita (blk and whi) began to show symptoms at age 2. Initially the vet recommended Dechra Miconohex shampoo, as well as Miconohex spray or wipes to apply to skin bumps/lesions. We had to bathe him every week during worst of allergy season. Over time we had to put him on Apoquel and now bathe him monthly, of course wash his bedding weekly, and we learned it's very helpful to wipe off his feet with pet wipes after coming in from outdoors. This minimizes the allergens he might track into the house and so keeps it a safe zone for him. Don't overlook food as a possibility that adds to your pet's allergies. We did elimination diet testing on our own and found eliminating chicken (which is the protein in a majority of dog foods) helped a lot. We now feed kibble with a single unique protein, and rotate every 3 months: turkey, then venison, then rabbit, etc. Turkey is pretty inexpensive since that's common, but the others can be pricey. We also found that manufacturers, in an effort to keep their costs down while appealing to pet owners, advertise 'no grain' dog food, but look at the nutrition label and now, often find potatoes and/or legumes (beans, peas) as another cheap filler to replace the wheat previously used. My dog did NOT do well with any of these. Finding good foods, now he's in a pretty comfortable balance with his allergies; always has a wet, slightly runny nose, often itchy ears and dry eyes. We have been giving him Omega 3 supplements for most of his life. We stopped giving the salmon oils-they always smelled bad/rotten, and my research confirmed to stay away from that. Although pricey, we give pills in his food-same brand as I take, but for dogs: Nordic Naturals. Our vet okayed giving him preservative-free Natural Tears type eye drops (same ones I use for myself). On my own I found Zymox Otic Ear Solution with Hydrocortizone to work wonders for his ear comfort and his vet okayed that too. A naturopathic vet here on RU-vid talked about using an OTC anti-fungal, Clotrimazol to rub around the inside of cleaned ears. That was a game changer for when our dog's ears got really bad: first apply the Zymox followed by massaging in the Clotrimazol. We did it twice a day for several days, then once daily for at least a week, then just monitored and applied as needed. Miconohex spray rubbed into fur on the exterior of his ears, and the other stuff inside made all the difference. I'm sharing my experience in case any of this can be helpful to other worried and frustrated pet parents. I remember being worried sick over my dog when we didn't have a clue how to help him and I'm so grateful to finding help from vets and other pet parent's sharing their experience. Good luck to all.
