After being in the business world for over forty years and owning my own company I can tell you that this is an exceptional video that is indescribably invaluable. Will refer back to this video often and definitely will share with others. Thank you for making this video!
Thank you, good information. Please consider training your voice to sound less harsh. It may be your dialect, but aim for a newscaster's voice for professional work.
I work in Quality, and I wrote up my team for a not catching a mistake, and then made the exact same mistake the same week. I was humiliated. I wanted to die and quit my job, but I apologized to my team and now I am motivated to find a way to eliminate that mistake from happening ever again.
Look at the ads. That filters out the garbage. At the interview: Look at how the interviewer dresses. cut off shorts, tank tops and flip flops are a huge no. Gallons of cologne and body odor are terrible. How are you greeted when you arrive? Their attitude is everything. If they ask rude questions or make any rude statements about you, then leave. Is the interviewer unapologetically late or you wind up meeting with someone else? Do they even bother to offer you any coffee? Is the interview being constantly interrupted by workers with problems that could wait? What does it say about respect for you? Is there a "project", trying you out for a day or quick "paid" trip to the field that lasts the whole day with a closed, dark office when you return? Look at the office. Is it a mess and dirty? Does the bathroom stink? Partially consumed water bottles all over the conference room? Any major safety hazards or "construction" going on that you may see? Where do you park your car? Listen to the office working while waiting. Not being plugged in, you can actually see what it is like to work there. Do you hear yelling and arguing? Can you see workstations and the moods of the workers? Is there gossip going on? Any signs of stress? How many empty desks do you see? I left a few interviews after seeing some of these things. Sometimes I left within the first 30 seconds.
Bad day at work. So many mistakes in one day. The biggest is I let a pushy client shove me into a corner and give them what they asked for even though I KNEW it was the wrong thing to do. And it will come back on me. I did tell my boss. She helped me fix it but still. I knew better and that’s what makes me the maddest at myself. I was just tired of her pounding on me.
Whatever you prepare, practice and say at interview if the hiring manager has someone in mind already, they don’t give a sh*t…. This is what happened to me…it’s just so hard to meet someone who really shows respect and appreciation….
I believe it's about timing. Ive interviewed for the same internal position twice and met with a team member to observe the role and didn't get the role. Perhaps I need more preparation or simply not the best fit for the team I was interviewing for. All good. What God has for me, will be mine, yet His time is not the same as mine.
🎉🎉🎉 Thank you SO much!! I watched most of your videos before my Job interviews. I got my dream job!! I start in a few weeks!! 🎉🎉🎉 Thank you 🙏🏽 so much!!!
I've had phone screens where they didn't really ask me anything except what size team I manage and what are my salary requirements. For both, I managed a larger team than the role and was at the higher end of the salary range. Neither of those companies invited me for an interview.
@nicksparta9580 I feel like I would initially just say I'm comfortable with the advertised range and when I receive an offer negotiate to the higher end. That way I don't push myself out of the running at screening.
this video helped me get my job!! tip: study the job description and focus on how your experience directly relates and transferable skills. I finally got a job after months of interviewing! Thank you for your videos :)
Thanks for your videos! I went in today and he didn’t ask any of those questions it was actually nice.. I’m pretty sure I failed because I had to tell them if I’m allergic to dogs cause the owner brings his in.. well I am.. so kind of a bummer, other than that I nailed the qualifications, but off to the next job search.
