#2 is my fave. also it helps to pretend the interviewer is your BESTFRIEND! thanks Cass, your videos have helped me in the past in SO many ways. starting a new job interview after 3 years! 🙏🏻
I haven't found that to be true, and I know a few others haven't either. I know it can backfire. For example, if I were hiring someone, I wouldn't hire someone who was giving off "best friend" vibes; I'd want someone who views me as the boss/supervisor in a business situation. That's who I'd want to hire.
Sometimes feeling confident and comfortable isn't a good thing though. Lately I've used - It's just a conversation, and This is the only question, and was very comfortable. One interview went great (I thought), we had a great conversation, we talked, we laughed, I left feeling like I had the job! I never heard from her again. That wasn't the first time. I've noticed that when I'm just anxious and kind of ill at ease (normal for me), I get much better results, and don't ask me to explain it! At this point I'm so confused I don't know what to do, and I'm still unemployed.
Great convo and tips, thanks. Job interviews have caused me to go completely mute during them at times, because the anxiety was so intense. Mindfulness meditaiton was a great thing I had to learn. I was using the book "30 Days to Reduce Anxiety" by Harper Daniels to learn some basics. I kind of see interviews, or anything anxiety inducing, as a classroom now for practicing mindfulness meditation. It helps me at least.

I watched this video just before entering my video interview today - I liked the ideas of treating it like a conversation, tell yourself this is the only question they're going to ask you and embrace the throwaway mentality to help reduce the feeling of pressure...now, I just wait 2 days and hope for a great outcome :) Thank you so much for all of your videos/advice!
I got the position - background check is next, but I already know that will go w/o any issues - thank you again for your videos!!@@CassThompsonConsulting
