He was nostalgic and reminiscing his friendship with Zayn here 🥹
I watched the making of this video and actually I didn't see any green screen whatsoever. It was filmed in this, what looks like, a gigantic pop-up white dome tent with a big opening so it was kind of like a white room from floor to ceiling. I also saw an interview with Finneas and Billie talking about the meaning behind the song lyrics and they both said it's a metaphor it's not literal as a lot of people think it is . However they would not say what the metaphor was or what it should be. I'm just going to assume that that's left up to the viewer and The Listener of the song.

These is a behind the scenes on this one! It was filmed in Morocco. This really is a signature song for Louis, and the “for every question why, you were my because” has become a beautiful interaction between him and his fans. In fact, his livestream on veeps from Mexico on June 1st is called, “For Every Question Why.” It’s definitely gonna be worth a watch!

As for the faces - I think they represent people (from the industry) he felt trapped by and who tried to cage him in, which he's breaking free from now. Their meaning gets even deeper now with his new album and his documentary named "All Of Those Voices", which is a line from his song "Bigger Than Me" you already reacted to. "All of those voices, all of those choices, I don't hear them anymore" The faces even return in his merch for the documentary, which is very much about him finding his own path in the industry and breaking free from all the influences that held him back. If only I could send a picture of this merch, that would actually be great for you to see. And also this video is even more beautiful when you put it side by side with the Bigger Than Me video. (Walls was the last single of the first album and BTM was the first single of his second album btw and they flow into each other beautifully) In the BTM video he's in an equally deserted area but there's water and green (life and growth) around him in contrast to a desert in Walls. Also in Walls there's a fire burning down his walls, in BTM there's a fire which he's feeding himself with the tranches he's collecting. There are even similar shots in both videos of him walking and singing towards the camera. Which I personally think aren't coincidence (even though they're directed by two different people) Yeah, I have a lot of thoughts about this videos as you can see 😅 these are a few of them. But I absolutely loved to hear what you're thinking. Your analysis about the directing always gives it an extra layer that makes it even more interesting. So, thank you. ❤
So Happy to see you with Louis again!!! Miss it and want more!! I believe a few things about the symbolism in this video!!! His 1st words are also the lasts. “ nothing wakes you up like waking up alone”. Being a pie stuck on the wall to me represents the walls that he built around him and while he has some he is in the desert showing that he is completely alone. He basically says that for the first time he let those wells fall down for the other person and showed who he really was, but now he’s finding himself alone still. I love the shots with the dancers, but I see it much more not as him being a target, but as showing him alone and not fitting in again as all the dancers could be at a bar or a wedding and they all have partners except for Louis. He’s having to watch the beautiful dance from on the floor, from standing in the middle to standing on the side. The masks I definitely see he has all the different masks Louis has had to wear in his life, especially pressured during his career with One Direction to show a certain persona, act a certain way when he was directed to do so and walking away from them and being his authentic self without a mask and in the mirrors I do see him looking forward and in the past but also looking into his own eyes and figuring out who he really is. My fave is that beautiful silhouette before he takes his place on stage next to the four other guys. And then the one on the right it disappears, probably symbolizing Zayn. You will never go wrong with Louis Tomlinson and you do a great job with his videos. Your face makes me so happy when you hear him! Don’t wait so long for Lou next time!!!!💙✌️

Thank you, I loved your observation of the reflection of shadows, this video has so much symbolism, I've watched it a thousand times. Fans think that the band's shadows represent one direction, and there is a shadow that disappears when he gets close, I represent it as Zayn leaving the band, but it's an assumption. I recommend Two of us, as the next video, it's sad but it's beautiful!
