A have the small puzzle in sand and the mini in soft caramel. The sand color is absolutely STUNNING!!! And a very hard color to come by, also in other brands. I would absolutely looove to have the mini in Sand, as I actually use my mini puzzle way more than my small one - surprisingly roomy. And enough for my everyday needs. My ultimate gripe about the puzzle bags is that the straps do not swirl - that’s a huge design flaw. And that the mini doesn’t have adjustable strap. Otherwise, they are some of the best bags out there.

It is suuuuuch a nice colour, for me the perfect light neutral. It is quite funny, I will probably do the opposite colour/size combination as you :D I will also go ahead and get the matching sand belt I think... You are very correct about the strap, a real miss! Thank you for your input! xx

Nice review! I think I was the one who asked you about it 😅 It’s so helpful to hear the bag holds up quite well, I guess the calfskin leather and the quality of the piece do play a role… I was surprised as I’m always scared of light colors 😅 If you ever consider, sell your mini one for a small or medium version. I know the price point of this bag increased a lot but perhaps you can get a good deal on a pre-loved one 😊 not sure if you remember I mentioned the Margiela rabi flat ballerina… soo I pulled the trigger 😅 I found out they actually make two versions of it one in lamb and the other in calf skin leather… I ordered the latter so hopefully it’ll hold up well cause I’m planning to wear it a lot!!!

Yes it was, you totally inspired me to make the video! 🤩 For some reason there is no colour transfer on this bag (and I even use it with jeans and jean jackets... ) but I have had bags that do get colour transfer on them, i just think it might be quality is better! I don't think I want to sell the mini (too sentimental) but I am definitely considering getting another one preloved... Especially cause i prefer the original design 😅 totally remember the ballerinas and so great you got them!! Didn't know they made them in two leathers but Yes the calfskin should definitely wear better, how exciting!!

I've probably spent considerably more over the course of my (much longer) adult life so far, but so what? I don't buy more than I can afford and save money on other things. e.g., My electronics are ancient, I don't have 9 zillion kitchen gadgets or get my nails done very week etc. While I have of course made mistakes, for the most part I've worn my wardrobe pieces, enjoyed them and still have more than a few pieces I bought 20+ years ago. I travelled a ton in my 20s but sometimes I look at old photos and barely remember the times and places - should that make the experience something to be regretted? Nope. It's all gone into shaping who I am and I'm not going to regret any of it. Assigning value to things, experiences - well it's a very personal calculation. If you *are living within your means* and your wardrobe has served the function you intended, what's to regret? Who cares how much other people spend? Comparing yourself to others is the quickest route to misery. Why not just let the guilt/ self-judgement go and lean into contentment?
@madeinnorden
@madeinnorden 4 дня назад
Hi! Love hearing your story, I am the same with what I save money on haha! It's very interesting reading that you don't remember all details from travels but would never regret going on them. What you are saying is very true and is nice to hear other people being fine with being a bit excessive when it comes to clothing. I (at least tried to) express the same sentiment haha but I think it is interesting to hear how we deviate from the average or at the very least to know what the average is. But I think it is really beautiful to be fine with spending on material things, within your means, when in many parts of the internet it is frowned upon ☺️

@@madeinnorden Hi Amanda, As a Gen X I have to be honest and admit that I don't fully understand the pressures and realities faced by younger generations. So please take my views with that in mind :-) One of the things that makes me saddest is seeing how anxious young people are these days - filled with so much self doubt and so little willingness to trust their own perfectly fine skills and instincts. You said repeatedly in your video that fashion is important to you - so - lean into that! Enjoy it and don't waste time justifying your likes/hobbies/spending to anyone but *yourself* And for a little outsider perspective - $11K for an adult wardrobe, built up over years and consisting of good quality pieces is not in any way shape or form excessive. How much is that per year since you began buying your own clothes? It only seems a lot to people who've lost sight of the price-quality rapport. If I only buy pieces from Shein, Temu, H & M etc it might seem a lot to spend $1k a year on clothes.... or does it? Fast fashion only lasts a few washes and is discarded - so who is really spending an excessive amount after all? Final point: there's a lot of virtue signalling that goes on in the minimalism influencer space - but try not to forget that these people are as invested as anyone else in their business model. They're selling *something* at the end of the day and it sure isn't virtue. Of course they'd like to shame you for buying the clothes you love and value instead of the experiences they're getting a kick back for recommending. They have no right, at all, to tell anyone how to establish their priorities so please don't get sucked into believing you're doing anything wrong by not sharing their interests, nor investing in what they choose to sell. Oh. and people lie on the internet all the time. Just because others claim they spend less than you doesn't mean that's true lol. They are likely lying to you, or to themselves. My two cents fwiw.
@madeinnorden
@madeinnorden 3 дня назад
@@sparklie962 I love your vibe! And so true about people lying on the internet, I just can't fathom doing that so I end up taking things for face value (unless very obvious influencer vibe) 😅 They are all good points, and I think we all can learn to not beat ourselves up for decisions we make, and try to see when someone else is trying to make a decision for you. I want to say as well, like you touch on, that fast fashion has really twisted our brains when it comes to how much an item actually cost and what good quality clothing actually looks like... As someone who has both sewn, knitted, crochet, and made leather handbags/goods there is SO MUCH time and effort that goes into making fashion and it is insane that we expect 5€ t-shirts to exist

I don't know why my comment was deleted, but here we go again :) I had to pause the video and calculate my (partial) total cost. I've been using a similar app called Index, and while it calculates the cost per wear, it doesn't provide the total wardrobe sum. However, I've gone through all the pieces I've uploaded to the app and calculated it myself; the total is close to 5k euros. Obviously, a small fraction of that was financed by clothes I sold on Vinted, for example. But it also doesn't represent 100% of my wardrobe, as there are pieces I didn't include in the final amount. It goes without saying that this would easily exceed 10k if we include makeup, skincare, jewelry, nail/hair salon, hair products... it's a lot - I'm not going to lie. Maybe I should have spent that money on something else like travel, etc? Yeah, maybe, but I already do that in a frequency that my job allows me... and just like you, fashion is part of who I am, expressing myself through my clothes is part of my personality, taking care of my hair, my skin, my clothes, what I'm going to wear is a relaxing moment for me, it always has been... so yeah, maybe some people wouldn't invest that much in their wardrobe, but they might invest in something else like a hobby, or they have kids, which is fine... as one of the comments below said, cost per wear is not everything: sustainability & how long a piece stays with you and holds up well matters a lot. That said, don't feel bad if it's something that makes you happy and you can afford it! Life is too short - just don't get into debt. Last words: Could you elaborate a bit more on why you think you don't reach that much for your Loewe puzzle bag? It's on my wishlist, but I haven't pressed the button yet... I'm afraid I won't use it as much because I have to be extra careful with it - I have a Sezane Milo bag, my most expensive one - I have other mid-range luxury bags that I bought second hand for a lower price - and I have to say I don't reach for it as much, maybe because the patent leather is too delicate or the bag looks a bit formal for an everyday thing... idk, but I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the Puzzle bag! I'm also in love with the Maison Margiela Tabi Baillarines, it's expensive and a bit too trendy for my taste, but I'm currently on the hunt for a second hand find! That's another thing I noticed when calculating my total spending, used items make up the majority of my wardrobe!
@madeinnorden
@madeinnorden 9 дней назад
Hii!!! Very interesting to hear your number ☺️ I feel the same way as you do about it, it's nice to know but I don't regret it! Do you consider your interest in fashion and beauty a hobby? I'm just wondering because that a way I see it, and if my brother can have several sets of golf clubs why can't I have another pair or two of shoes? 😆 I love my Loewe bag! But I think it's because I wanted that bag for so long so getting it was such a milestone moment. I will say that I probably got the wrong size. So I got the mini in a beautiful colour called Sand, and it is really lovely beautiful neutral but because it is light I tend to mostly wear it during the summer (a Swedish winter would kill that bag). But during the summer I want to bring more with me, like a mini water bottle. The mini I can barely fit my phone, sunglass case, keys and a Lip balm. I don't regret buying it cause its so cute haha but if I would buy another one (probably at some point I will)/what I would recommend someone else to buy is the small or the medium ("the puzzle") bag. Both the small and the medium sit really nice crossbody and you can fit a lot more (and it won't feel so delicate). The puzzle has been wearing beautifully though, had it now for almost two years and there is not a single mark on the bag (and it's in a light colour!!) so maybe you wouldn't feel the need to worry to much about it. I generally dont like to feel restricted or afraid to use my bags, and I don't baby them 😅I have always thought the Tabis are so cool (the kind of casual ugliness of them I just love)! I get what you say with the ballerinas and that they are a trend, but for me at least the boots have become a modern classic! The thing with ballerinas is that they typically wear quite quickly and the margiela leather is so soft so probably not a good investment, I would find a cheaper alternative. I got a pair of Loewe Blaze ballerinas second hand but unfortunately they were too big so I sold them, but that kind of ballerina with a chunky sole was both just as cool as the tabis and will probably last a bit longer. Hope you find a good pair and if you do I would love to know! I am looking to add more of a Mary Jane style shoe in my wardrobe. All the best xx

@@madeinnordenYes I do see it as a hobby and as self-care :) Just recently I (re)discovered that I used to draw dresses and picture myself as a stylist even before I found my passion for science - currently wrapping up a PhD in cognitive neuroscience and finding my away out of academia 😅. Not that I think both are mutually exclusive, I’m just genuinely curious as fellow fashionistas are hard to find 😅 Oh thanks for the insights on the puzzle bag, I’m going to Paris soonish I might gift it myself?! Actually I have so far only had great experiences with being into fashion at my work, a lot of positive comments on my outfits and so far nothing negative even when they are more "out there". I think, as you say, it's not the most common hobby in the scientific world which kind of shows hahah! I haven't finished the video yet but I'll answer: I've been using these types of applications for years and yes, I'm getting close to the money you have invested in your spring summer wardrobe. And something else comes to mind, give me time and I'll catch up with you. The first thing I will say is that I have not spent that money all at once, it has been over the years, this shows that if you buy wisely, things that you like are not trends and pieces of higher quality although more expensive in the end will be in your closet a lot. a long time (which is more sustainable from an economic and ecological point of view). I have also had before buying better low cost clothes that were very cheap in theory but in practice I spent much more because they deteriorated very quickly (I have had tops that after two washes were as if they had been through a steamroller, totally true. Jeans with worn and loose fabric after one use.). The truth? I have learned to relativize the total cost, I care about the cost per use and the time they have been with me and I continue to love that garment and it doesn't bore me and it doesn't get damaged, that tells me if it was worth investing in that garment. For example, I have sezane tops that cost me 40 euros but they have been with me for years and they are perfect despite everything. What's more, now I'm going to fix them because they're too big for me, if I'm going to fix the top, who would say. Adulterating or having a low total cost number of garments is easy, you just have to buy low cost of very low quality (Shein for example), thus you will have a very low total cost but the turnover of your garments will be very high and you will not have a great cost per use, that won't say anything good about your economy and environmentalism. For example, a very special blouse for a party that you wear every Christmas and you love it and you don't get tired of it, it will not have a great cost for initial use but you have been with it for a long time and it will continue: it is worth the investment (already It will have a lot of cost per use). A garment that you love and wear a lot, is worth the investment. A capricious throwaway garment or one of very poor quality, just for trend: don't buy it, it's the best Another thing: don't get overwhelmed by the statistics in the magazines, most people buy fairly low cost to be fashionable (wear twice and throw away, they say it like that, I'm not making anything up) and only invest in a few items of clothing. . You don't have a mentality, you invest for the long term so you are going to get stressed and feel bad for no reason. By the way, my current number is: 7643, but as I said, it is a fake number waiting for new things
@madeinnorden
@madeinnorden 9 дней назад
I love this comment (as I usually do with your comments!!)! And haha I love that you will catch up to me, probably true and I don't mind at all 😃 I didn't think about the turnover cost of your wardrobe, and as you say probably that's the reason why the statistics of the average wordrobe cost are much lower than ours. I cannot stand the throwaway culture of clothing, and I can't really understand it either. Like you, I fell in love with a piece and I want to wear it forever and usually get sad when it reaches it's end of life. That was really one of the things that made me stop buying fast fashion, I fell in love with a piece and then it was so damaged before I had ever gotten the chance of getting bored by it (which for me still happens sometimes but let's see how it develops). And I cannot understand how some people buy a piece and only wear it once, like your example with a Christmas blouse, if it's cute and well made you can wear it every Christmas and totally get not only your cost per wear but also that wow-factor that a quality item brings. Also great that you are adjusting your tops and congrats on your weight loss (?), if I remember correctly you told me you were also going to workout more after the new year! ☺️ I don't mind the number too much, I think it seems quite reasonable to me (landing on about 200$ a piece) seems like a reasonable investment. But it always helps and is wonderful to hear other's thoughts and experiences 🥰

The thing with Sezane shoes are that the sizing and width really vary between styles. So whilst the Vicky Loafers are true to size, they work for a normal to wide foot, the gloria sandals are really small and for narrow to normal foot. Which makes it difficult to say how they generally fit... The Paula babies, i find you need to size up and are work for a wider foot (but with some discomfort). Hope it helps xx

The video is very interesting and curious. I do have models with that mix, for example the Barry, and they doubt me. A 30% synthetic in this case is justified because the kid mohair would not be viable, it would fall apart. What is important is to wash by hand with cold water, squeeze with a towel and dry flat on a towel without drying and without hanging, allowing it to dry naturally. But hey, I do this with all natural jerseys. I don't buy 100% polyester directly. I recognize that 20% may be needed in certain designs to give a shape, a body to the fabric or a brocade, so I admit 20% or 30% depending on the design but I always try to keep it as little as possible. There are also designs that can only be made in 100% polyester (garments with those small pleats or in chiffon fabrics), I don't look at those but if you like them you have to choose: either design or fabric, because you can't maintain otherwise. Otherwise you can always choose a more subtle and fluid pleat like the Renata or the Wanda (in my opinion they are also more flattering because they give less volume). Sequins are also going to be synthetic because of the material itself. Fine gauze will be synthetic because that naturally fine fabric tears and has no body. I do not defend the use of synthetics in clothing, especially because sometimes the use is not justified but I recognize that in sezane most of the time it is justified. Sometimes as consumers we have to choose a design or a fabric, be it in sezane or in a luxury brand, in my case I choose the fabric (for the well-being of my skin, environmentalism, comfort...) but if you are going to take care of it, don't You are going to throw it away and you are going to enjoy it for a long time, choose what you want Another thing is that I avoid buying what they make in China for different reasons: one because they do not have sufficient labor or environmental regulations. Two because I have verified in different brands that the quality is low (the same brand in different places sews more or less mediocre). Three because I pay extra for a European production with all the guarantees. I'm going to add something that has significantly worsened sezane: the shopping experience. They do not prepare the orders with the same love and care, they do not wrap well in the tissue paper, in my last orders they have dropped the things inside the box
@madeinnorden
@madeinnorden 15 дней назад
Hi again!! I was getting to that, don't necessarily mind a polyester blend to make it more durable, but here my jumper is still showing way to much wear for it to be reasonable! And yes sometimes it is necessary with 100% polyester, but my experience is that for the most time it is not for the design as it could be made in another fabric (i am thinking of some of the satin material items that could be made in silk, like some of the tops)! Not thinking of only Sezane, but rather similar price point brands are doing the same. We are in the same mind regarding made in China, definitely avoid it if possible to keep the mind at piece. There are way to much uncertainty for us not to be suspect regarding labour and quality.. What a pity with the packaging! Mine has been fine for 2/3 packages i got sent, one the paper had been torn up already. Maybe a fluke? Hopefully your next order will be better ☺️ xx

I am amazed by the success of viscose producers in green-washing their product. It's a horror to produce - polluting waterways and adding to deforestation. I'm aware that the Ecovero product is produced with fewer emissions and uses less water, but less than what? Plus it's not being produced at mass scale so most viscose in garments is not Ecovero. And after all that environmental impact, you still end up with a fabric that as you say is scratchy, flimsy - wears poorly, and washes... unpredictably. Will it warp? Will it be dye-fast? Who knows?

Yes, hit and miss. e.g., I was very disappointed by the state of the buttonholes on the red Etia dress - poorly sewn, with many hanging threads. But like you, I've purchased many beautifully made pieces. As a Lilysilk fan it would be hypocritical of me to be snobby about the made in China pieces - but I am not observing the same quality of knitwear for example, as in their made in Italy pieces. Chinese garment manufacturers are absolutely capable of producing beautiful, high-quality pieces - but only if the design house is prepared to pay for it. The sad fact is that most are off-shoring to China to increase their profit margins - not to increase quality!
@madeinnorden
@madeinnorden 16 дней назад
How unfortunate with the Etia dress!! 😦 You are so right about it being profit margins.. I just think it's sad because that was one of the main things that made me buy from the brand... (Which i think was the case for many). Although more expensive, i also find made in France or Italy pieces better quality! I think it's quite strange, they could just create great quality pieces made in China and still make as much or more money than if they made it in Europe. Profits in the short term may stop longterm loyalty if this keeps up..

I did like the video. The same thing happens to me as it does to you: very very basic clothes don't say anything to me, or very very classic. I have basic t-shirts but I don't wear them in such a basic way: with printed or very feminine skirts or pants (I like the Austin from Sezane with a basic t-shirt). And if I wear them with jeans I put on a nice belt, ankle-length jeans, ballet flats or colored espadrilles, I use a more striking bag, hair ornaments, jewelry... I also don't buy them oversized or with a very cut. very square, and I try to turn the cuff of the marks if they are very square. Regarding the dress that is not in your color palette... Rules are meant to be broken, if you like something, you look pretty in that garment, why wouldn't you keep it?

Sounds like you're doing some beautiful styling! Accessories are key to making those basic things look good, and you seem to have it managed. I naturally tend to have quite few and usually subtle accessories, so I've realised that my core pieces do need some detail to them, otherwise I end up looking like a boring blob 😆 As I said in the video, I am definitely keeping the dress because I really love it and wear it a lot without it being an effort! The colour palette (i think it's quite generous) is to make it easier to get dressed, and to help me not regret purchases. Anything outside of the colour palette will have to be extra considered, so that rules are broken thoughtfully 😉

The linen t-shirt seems cheap and very thin for the price. I don't like the Caprice dress in that print either, I like the cotton one with white English embroidery. For my taste, you have chosen perfectly what to return and I will stay

The Milane looks so good on you :) On me it was just hanging, but decided not go with smaller size. I also have Felicien in this color and recently got it in black. It is so much more elevated than plain black tank top. I also think in comparison to Laura, Clea top is more nicer and easier to tuck, especially in front (maybe due to lack of buttons).

Finally some sense please. I very much agree with you: I love beautiful things and yes, I buy things because they seem pretty to me (and with good quality, good manufacturing and European, but that is my vibe and my personal OCD). For example, I am a big lover of dresses from the rouje brand, probably if you put together the number of summer dresses that I have from that brand over the years someone would be scandalized. Does that mean I have a mortgage to pay them? The truth is no, but I do buy little by little as I can afford. I also buy some expensive cosmetics because I have sensitive skin and age and it can be considered a whimsical expense as well. On the other hand, I cut back on other things that are not so important to me (mobile phone model, makeup, I always look for the best offers and discounts (also in those purchases of clothing and cosmetics), I exercise at home and do not pay gym fees, I make homemade food ...What I decide to do. Everyone has the right to organize themselves as they want and of course: they can buy what is nice and what they can afford (and fits into their home of course). The only thing I would say is to raise awareness about not buying something. to use once and throw away due to contamination issues, but come on, if any of you are tempted to throw away a luxury bag, don't do it, I'll take care of giving it a home
@madeinnorden
@madeinnorden Месяц назад
As always, great to hear your perspective! As you say, most people are not in a trans or need of an awakening to feel happy in their life! For most of us, it's just pretty things that we buy because we like to and in the amount we can afford (both financially and in space). Nobody else's business to be honest 😆 of course, not buying crap that you know is low quality and will fall apart after a wash, that just seems like a waste. But most adults don't do that?? We all have too many bills to pay and too little time to take out the trash haha! Love that you splurge on dresses and cosmetics, those are fab items! ❤️

Hey Amanda, your perspective in the video really got me thinking. I've always had a passion for fashion, and recently, especially since I don't have many friends who share my enthusiasm for the subject, I decided to start my own RU-vid channel. And like you, there's no financial incentive behind my channel - it's purely driven by my love for fashion and the desire to connect with people.v Lately, I've noticed this sudden shift in content from certain RU-vidrs, making me wonder if my content is unintentionally promoting overconsumption on a smaller scale. I think some RU-vidrs are shifting to become more niche, as it's still their job as content creators and brand owners to pivot when necessary. Of course, for some, it might be for personal reasons. But what troubles me is when a content creator advocates for "buying less" while flaunting luxury items that are out of reach for most viewers. It can foster judgmental feelings among those who can't afford such items, perpetuating a sense of inadequacy. Similarly, there's a dilemma when creators endorse certain brands as "less problematic" while criticizing larger chains for perpetuating the fashion fallacy. I think it's okay to do the latter as long as you don't put yourself on that pedestal of superiority. Overall, videos like yours are very much needed!
@madeinnorden
@madeinnorden Месяц назад
@marianapereirae Hi, just to say it first- thank you so much for your very thought through comment! I've had the same thought, if I too am promoting over consumption. But if we had an arts and crafts channel, would we be accused of promoting overconsumption of art supplies? Or any other subject? Let's just share our enjoyment :) I think it's easy to not shop or buy less when you have a room packed with clothes after years of collecting, that should be considered when making "I stopped shopping" videos definitely. Maybe I miss your point but I don't think there is anything wrong with buying luxury (even when doing so during a "buying less" period). The fact that they are buying less may be the reason they can afford buying luxury (together with all things that come with income, financial status, debt load etc). And if they like to shop luxury, who am I to judge? If I wanted watch, there are plenty of channels with affordable fashion (but I am drawn to brands like Sézane, Toteme, Loewe...which is not very good for the wallet hehe). The key word may be "flaunting", of course some are showing off but I tend to see it as someone just sharing for most part, but I might miss videos ;) I personally really dislike the whole "this was sooooo exclusive, and it is soooo elegant" kind of vibe xD! I am guessing that it might be a try to be more sustainable, and as someone who has tried to shop sustainably, it is INCREDIBLY difficult. All clothing brands are to some extent unsustainable, the whole industry is. So back again with the "overconsumption" dilemma. Personally I have made the decision to shop clothing that I LOVE, because it is so important for me to express myself, and that means that sometime I will buy from less sustainable brands. We all have our vices, and this is mine. I make other life choices that are more sustainable, in particular political choices (which is the biggest contribution a single person can make unless they are the CEO of an oil company). Does that even it out? I don't know... but it is not easy being good in this day and age, so let's just be at peace with our own faults and give others some reasonable doubt. Have you seen "The good place"? They make a great commentary on the difficulties of being alive and "good" today :) Sorry for such a long response, this subject has been plaguing my mind for so long haha!! You seem like a very intelligent, thoughtful and honest person and I am delightful that you decided to start a channel, I wish you the best of luck xx

I avoid buying products made in China in Sezane and Rouje. In fact, I have decided not to buy any because I already pay a good price because they are manufactured in Europe and I have verified that the sewing quality is not the same. One thing I have noticed in this collection is that Sezane has remade each color of a model in a different material and country of manufacture, so if you like a garment check the different colors. I have no problem with viscose but I refuse to buy polyester because I have seen several items from the collection By the way, I'm still looking to see if they replace the leather jacket and shorts because the set is perfect except for the one made in India. Even so, I consider making an exception for that outfit because the sezane shorts look great even if your legs are not thin and perfect
@madeinnorden
@madeinnorden 3 месяца назад
I think so too, I already pay a premium so a EU based manufacturing should be do-able! I noticed that with colours, also that the materials can differ -which makes it trickier to shop! @shanerob681 3 месяца назад
I think it’s a good thing to be conscious about purchasing things online. Just because we have the option to return things free of cost does not mean we should take advantage of this when it is not necessary. A few weeks ago Sézane increased their Canadian prices and the reason they gave was the increase in cost from couriers. In short, when they give us perks like free returns, it comes at a cost that is passed on to the consumer. And of course, there’s also an environmental cost.
@madeinnorden
@madeinnorden 3 месяца назад
@@shanerob681 Thank you so much for your input!! The environment impact is one of the reasons I stay away from it, also it feels a bit disingenious. Interesting reasoning behind increased prices, depending on how much they increased it, I don't think that's the whole story 😉

I find it interesting when a blogger analyses a collection visually. It's a completely different thing than a try-on review, but helpful in its own way. I think it encourages talking/ thinking things through in a wholistic sort of way, leading to more intentional purchases. Have to admit I am not a fan of buying items to review and send back. At that stage, it probably makes more sense to cultivate a relationship with the brand and receive samples on loan for review.
@madeinnorden
@madeinnorden 3 месяца назад
@@bluesuedestrap Thank you for expressing your thoughts! It feels wrong for me too, and would contribute to me overspending probably (and encouraging it as well)! Although as of now I have no intention of making it big enough for brands to loan things, if it would happen I would be unsure of what to do. I would hope to be impartial still ☺️ But I think as a viewer we get suspicious of bloggers reviews of gifted or loaned items?
@FS-rb2bh
@FS-rb2bh 3 месяца назад
In my opinion the brands are encouraging this (it will benefit them in some way). Let me explain: they give away products and pay content creators to give them real or fake positive reviews, these content creators create the trend towards the brand based on a constant bombardment of good reviews. Now, what happens if the expectations created are not met? The time will come for the bombardment of criticism. Now, my opinion of these specific products: for me they are not worth what they cost, their only value is the campaign that created the trend, for me neither the quality nor the design is worth it. I wouldn't go to a jewelry store and buy that same design in that material at that price, which for me is the ultimate proof. You can tell me about a Loewe bag that the quality of the leather, the sewing, the details are wonderfully done and I will agree with you (I have vintage Loewe that prove it) but this is not the case with those pieces. What's more, I don't even consider it a luxury, just a very expensive trend.
@madeinnorden
@madeinnorden 3 месяца назад
That's a very interesting thought, it never crossed my mind even! Might be so? I always thought of VCA and other luxury jewellery designers as similar to Loewe in terms of yes great quality and design but you're paying a premium for the brand name, and it is possible to find similar quality elsewhere. But for me at least I am okay with paying a premium for a design I love and then pay for the creativity of creating that piece, rather than the status it will provide (which is a common reason to buy luxury). Your thoughts and comment is very well appreciated! xx

I think many influencers are getting influenced by other influencers lol. That’s why you see so many of them following a similar attitude about this or that brand giving an ick. I can understand the VCA, Cartier love and JUC bracelet stacking trend was just so much all over social media, and people got sick of seeing that. But social media is not real life. You don’t see that on a daily basis in real life. They are beautiful pieces, timeless and classic designs. I don’t own the bracelets but I have two VCA Alhambra necklaces and I love them. I went to the Alhambra in Spain and it is one of the most beautiful places in the world. To me that collection has a meaning, it’s not a trend and I will always like it. The same goes for the Chanel classic flap. Omg so many negative comments out there. While it may be the dream bag for many. Imagine someone who finally was able to purchase a CF bag of her dreams and now it is too basic, old lady, giving an ick! Many influencers can buy so many bags in a short period and have the luxury to replace them for the next “it” bag. Some switched from Louis Vuitton, to Chanel, then to Hermes. Hard to keep up. Stay true to yourself, if you want to feel unique, get what goes with your personality and lifestyle, what you love! You can’t go wrong with a timeless piece that had endure decades.

Your comment is very well thought through! It must be incredibly easy to be influenced as an influencer, imagine seeing someone unboxing something and getting both positive comments and views, of course they would want the same - that's their job! Although the pieces you mention (Alhambra and Classic flap) are not for me (too elegant haha), I can see the beauty in them. Saying that they are giving the ick is just rude!! Btw I agree, Alhambra Palace is so beautiful!!! 😍 Thank you for commenting xx

I think the ones that say these things are the ones that cannot afford it in the first place ( nothing wrong with it) or they want exclusivity at all cost and they don’t feel special anymore. I personally love what I love and if I can afford it, you better bet that I will get it. I don’t follow trends for the most part, so when people buy these things because of the hype, and they will stop wearing their items, I will still rock them. I heard that a Birkin is tacky now, I’m laughing at these comments because we are talking about a very classic bag. It will remain whatever they think. I won’t leave my Birkins in my closet just because some decided they see it too much. In most places, you barely see people wearing anything luxury, that’s the reality. They should put their phone down and go touch some grass. Most people don’t wear VCA, Cartier or Hermès. Let’s be real for a second!
@madeinnorden
@madeinnorden 4 месяца назад
Maybe it is because of jelousy of not being able to afford it or offended that other people also can afford it, or I think it might just be because we see it so much it almost feels like we and everyone else owns it already? And if we see something enough we get sick of it because it doesnt feel special or unique, and that's what we want luxury to feel like? I don't know why, I just think it's ridiculous behavior to bring people down for wearing VCA. But you're right, go touch some grass haha! 😆Xx
