I think konami was justified to fire him, he used some of the mgsv's budget made a contract with sony to make pt without konami's knowing Even if konami was gonna fire him eventually, kojima aint no saint either
I remember my parents bought me a game boy color along with red version and took me to Burger King, I got a chicken sandwich meal and got home ate and played. Best day of my life.
Definitely never got the impression he hated the genre. The parodied tropes always felt like they were written out of a love for the quirks of the genre.
I still smile when I think back to the PS2 days and playing endless hours of Pro Evolution Soccer with my mates. And the Japan version, the Winning Eleven series. Nothing to do with Kojima, but it was a Konami series.
- "Machida" not "Mashida" - 7:35 Pokemon still have the ability to shrink down. This is mentioned in PLA. - Were internet forums already a think in the early 90s or how did they check online to recover the data? Anyways, super interesting video nonetheless! Luckily they were able to finish their game and release it. What a success story.
11:20 You can't just say those words without explaining what they mean. 15:03 Wouldn't it be 5? Since there are two swaps of normal and alternate arms?
I wonder if one of the unnamed projects could be Project Libitina? I remember hearing something about it some time after the game's release because of some hidden codes and such in the Secret Poems and the files of the game themselves. I don't know if it was ever made clear that it'd even BECOME it's own individual game; I only started hearing that he could be working on a game completely inspired (title and all elements of it), with lore following the Project's (and additional we might've not known about it)
When DDLC came out, it was the hottest thing. I respect the creator, and while it does suck we may never see more of his creations again, it was fun while it lasted. Unless Dan Salvato makes something different? Regardless, I wish him nothing but the best of luck. 🙏🥹😀👍
You've got to make a video on Animal Well!! The first game from Dunkeys publishing company. It was built from scratch without a game engine in C++ over the course of 5+ years. Would be a cool story to walk through and it's becoming very popular right now.
Such an inspiring story and the creator seems so genuine and humble. It's amazing that the modern indie environment can drawn to this one man and his passion project of a game. I really need to try it out and yes I would be more than happy to pay thisan
Modern gamers are trash. Some dude just commented that this game failed because there is no friends list like wtf if you guys are trash at the game then go somewhere else instead of saying random crap, these people dont realize how stupid they sound.
