Interesting. 25mm, 40mm . . . the new light tank with 105mm . . . those aren't what I thought of as PLA sizes, and I wonder why they are chosen? How widely exported is this, and what are significant differences with its -99 predecessor? The search radar range would give at best a one-minute warning, probably less than half that in most situations. Is anything known about integrating the -04 in to multi-modal multi-nodal detection and tracking networks for warning, warm-up, and engagement without using the on-board radar, or using it in a passive mode detecting backscatter from more powerful radars?
25x183mm round is China answer of turning the shitty 23x152mm round to a mini Oerlikon GDF 35x228mm round. It extends the caliber/length ratio from 6.6 to 7.3 to compensate weakness of propellent technology in 80s to achieve faster muzzle velocity, flater trajectory and longer range. Another reason China use 25mm in their new 625 SPAA after they have 35mm on PGZ-09 is they can pack few times more smaller caliber 25mm rounds in belt ready for use than the 35mm.

The range of the Su-30 is greater than that of the Rafale. It can also take off from short runways, unlike the Rafale, which must have a long runway for it to take off. I think the archer gun designing is more versatile in operational and strategic level utilization, but the tracked howitzer provides heavier and stronger chassis compared with the wheeled trucks... LONG LIVE CHINA LONG LIVE PLA...
They look so similar but don't take words from my mouth that the Chinese "borrowed" the design from Japan. I like the short take off distance especially for a fire fighting aircraft. I would go with the ShinMaywa. I had an early Toyota and loved it including later models just running and running forever.
Not to underestimate their military in general. It’s formidable and they hate the U.S.! The trouble is: they have no combat experience, nor does China. Not since 1953. Not many veterans from the Korean War left. The U.S. has been involved in some kind of combat mission since 1983. They took a 10 year break. The longest since our country was formed. Russia has quite a bit combat experience since 1979. Both China & DPRNK would lose thousands of soldiers in the first week of combat with the U.S. because of lack of combat experience alone. From Their SF soldiers on down to the regular infantry rifleman…

Nat.Defense, Destroyer warships with 8 to ten thousand tons, at least 150 to 180 meters in length with space for armaments, anti air 36 to 60 vertical cells, 2 Hellipad , main gun O. Melara, close in gun, mid range anti ship for Thaad & Brahmos launchers. Anti ship & anti submarine Torpedo launchers with sonars. Design of the warships must look alike U.S. latest Destroyers. & must be all Steel with a max. speed of 32 knots. Diesel /Gas fuel. & solar power. Water cannon.
