I've modified my suspension as well to a Racing one, it's another bike another experience. Also the HP CORSE SP-1 SHORT exhaust added some personality to the bike together with a soft engine remapping and an Air Filter by K&N. So far ammazing. Greetings from Romania
I bought one and to be honest I wish I had kept my 1250. It is much more nimble than the 1250, and its easier to wash and clean, for me thats where it ends. The suspension is much harsher especially on a 'washboard' type road surface. It's noisier. The quick shifter isn't any better. The heat from the engine is like having a coal fire between your legs. The tech is too intrusive even when dialled down. I have had to switch the collision warning off as its dangerous especially when going for an overtake. As you speed up to pass the back of the car, it assumes you are going to run into it, so turns off power and applies the brakes, not good. It's more expensive to service. The side stand is way too short so leans over too much. The ways of turning the heated grips on is not easy having to use the menus. The Lithium battery requires an expensive trickle charger(or the warranty is invalid) and there are so many 'Do's and Don't' i was thinking of putting a Lead acid on it. This is from someone who owns one and not borrowed one for a couple of hours!

Not at all mate. Everyone has a different definition of what a "trail" is, but ours (and most in the industry) includes 4WD tracks and firetrails - plenty of which we utilised on our test of the 450MT. We never mentioned single track, which I assume you are talking about. And I think most people understand dual-sport bikes are not designed for single track anyway. Hope that makes things a little clearer for you!

I’ve ridden this bike a few times and currently Im on my second GSA 1250. I was very impressed with the GS 1300 and I would certainly consider buying one in the future. Its capability on the loose gravel was amazing to say the least. Riding the bike on the blacktop was impressive too. Overall, I found this bike a lot of fun to ride.
Well a few months ago I took a R1300GS Trophy for a ride along the Oxley Highway. Two hours worth. I have a R1250 GSA that went in for a 30K service. The 1300 really does go. Better than my 1250 GSA. It handles Better than my 1250 GSA. Thing is - if I was going to seriously consider a R1300GS I would think about my use of the motorcycle - the trip to Philip Island a few times over, the trip to Lake Mungo, the trip to the tip - Cape York. All done on the 1250 GSA. Plus my GSA is so much more comfortable.
Is Lighter, faster and more expensive than ever....yeah motorcycles will have the same fate as cars are having, they will be dominated by the Chinese, thanks for the review.
50cc will really not sell me on the 1300. besides the fact that it looks like the lower cost Honda NC750. BMW you really did not do it justice not to mention the new 1300 GSA which looks like a Cartoon character from Lego. I will stick with the 1250GS as it still portrays a beast as oppose to your new statement which i think is trying to address our Gender crap!!!!
Hey @bobcobb7719, this is the Trophy X version, not the Trophy version. And we can confirm it does come with all of those features (as per BMW official price and equipment list). To clarify, the Trophy X is a variant available in Australia (it doesn't appear to be available in the US).

@bikesaleschannel it is available. It is just another "option," as you called, sport suspension .mather of fact, most of the "rally" models have the sport suspension, they sitting on the dealers because most people wants the adaptive suspension, we are not al " super adventurers pretenders" lol
I'm wary of add ons, the Honda engineers know more than I do, even though budget is a factor. I've added a bash plate and handguards and if I decide it's a keeper I might get the cheaper suspension mods. I've never had a quickshifter or cruise control so I can't miss them. I'm not kidding myself that I'm going to be gunning through the Bush like an A grade enduro rider. I just need be able to get there and have a bit of fun. If you want to get serious off road you'd need to address gearing ratios on the talp in my opinion.
The quick shifter is standard in the US or I wouldn’t have it either because I’ve never had one but I would recommend riding one with it if you can cuz it’s awesome I use it all the time. It feels like a naked bike on the road with better wind protection I really like it a lot
Can we just stop talking about the tyres on a bike...unless you cannot ever change the tyre to your own desires, stop talking about the bikes tyres off road.
@@MrKdr500 See our repsonse to fanjan7527. A lot of people will want to know if the standard tyres are decent or not. Not everyone will want to (or can afford to) replace the tyres.
@fanjan7527 unfortunately replacing tyres costs money, and not everyone wants to fork out the extra $$$. And if the standard tyres are good, then why replace them? So, talking about the standard tyres is important!
@@Taf68 I didn’t take a camera unfortunately. The bike performed exceptionally well, didn’t even have to change the air filter, the airbox was spotless each time I checked it!
@@ryancompton3515 That would be good advice for most people in my position but I'm not willing to wait that long. If I could buy a 450mt right now I would be out riding tomorrow but I would still modify it sooner than later. Everything I own has a swapped engine or suspension. As it stands I'm looking at a used NC750x as a base then parting out a salvage CRF1000 Africa Twin for its suspension and brakes. I'll probably be $8,000 into when I'm done but I'll have 55hp, 70mpg, +9" travel/clearance, 21"/18" wheels, 480lbs but the lowest cog possible, and a very reliable package.
Test rode one the other day clutch was not that great and the gears box was not going into gear could be a problem not sure i really like it but it put me off
@bikesaleschannel what did u think of the clutch? There was no play in the clutch it was coming on in the first couple of mm sorta didn't feel that good .
