G'day G'day,
Our last week was way less busy. So it was a good time to capture a bit of footage of where we've been working for the 5 months we spent in Innamincka. So we thought we'd share a little insight to the general day to day. Hope you enjoy. ching ching.

Thanks Keith. It was a blast out there. We'll always have fond memories of the little town. We will go back one day to see how it's all progressed and see all the trees we planted.

Really great video, Tim. When you stay awhile, joining into everyday life in an outback town, it certainly grows on you, leaving a lifetime of wonderful fond memories. Regardless of how, years later, that town has fallen by the wayside, attracting a hugely justifiably negative reputation. Wishing you both a well earnt s.e.qld festive season. Looking forward to your travels in 2024.

Glad you enjoyed it Wayne. It blew our minds really. No we've been back in the big smoke for a few weeks it certainly puts things into perspective. We're starting to plan our next year first stint now. So we'll see how we go. Have a good Xmas and new year.

Hey Tim - just found your channel tonight and this video brought back some wonderful memories from 2017. I was there the week the Town Closes for summer, only about 6 locals left and the flying doctors had just been for the final health check before the close. The Cooper was dry almost ( nowhere to paddle) - I stayed the Pub a couple of nights. I was told at the trading post there was still water out at Coongie Lakes but a bit of a desert drive. I paid for 3 nights in the NP camp site and headed off. Coongie lakes with no one else there was the best and most beautiful that time of year. An oasis teaming with wildlife and birds dingos - the waterways leading to the main lake just wonderful to paddle and swim. I had the most amazing time on my own out there. Travelling solo that trip. The town folk knew I had gone and when due back - I stayed an extra night and when I got back the lady at the pub gave me a telling off lol ( they thought they needed to come rescue me) - they cared which I found heart warming. Truly liked the town, the people, respected the harshness and unforgiving nature of live or die mentality and its awesome beauty. So remote, truly an outpost. Recommend Coongie Lakes to everyone- campsites nothing much - only hosts a giant shed type drop box toilet - nothing else 👍 Did you get out to Coongie Lakes yourself Tim ??

G'day mate. That's sounds amazing. We did get to Coongie Lakes a couple of times. If you have a look back previous videos. I've got an entire collection of them from out time there. Thanks for tuning in and have a great weekend.

@@TimRumble Tim good to hear back - I have my adventure head back on after watching a few of yours last night and this morning. Myself I took off similar to Michelle and yourself, I did 7 months solo with so many amazing adventures in my 2009 Land Rover Defender with a roof top tent. Birdsville track, Strzelecki track, winded through all the outback towns - up to Cooktown and cape - learnt to snorkel and then to scuba dive off Whitsundays- just a 7 month adventure of saying YES to anything I decided that morning- no rules or plan just the maps and a commitment. I had 56 videos up on RU-vid but took them private. I can relate to your Coongie lake video where no one for miles and some idiot pulls up next to you and sets up camp. What is that all about !!

@@shantishanti1949 hahaha... I know right. That's happened a few times to us now. I think people are sp used to being packed in like sardines that they default to it when in remote locations. Your trip sounds amazing. We too were only planning a 12 month trip until we decided to sell everything and travel Australia indefinitely. Until one of us gets sick of it. But we'll have to work along the way. And we've found this past year it's a good way to become part of the community and get to see some places tourist folks don't generally get to see.

@@TimRumble it’s the right thing to do Tim - be free not tied down and you are proving to yourselves with the work that A you can do it and B it enriches your capabilities and knowledge of how this wonderful country of ours is so so different to anything we city folk imagined. Live your life don’t let life happen to you. I will celebrate your upcoming adventures as you load them next year. If you did not make it to Lawn Hill you should at some time, ONLY stay the NP as it is better for water entry and just spectacular. My kayak is inflatable this too I recommend getting. Worth every penny especially when I was at Coongie and Lawn Hill later, I paddled on every river. Merry Christmas to you both and safe and happy travels for 2024. 👍

@@shantishanti1949 we will get to Lawn Hill mate and it's funny you mention the inflatable Kayaks. We have been looking for one. So we'll see how we go. Merry Christmas to you and yours and I'll get some more videos soon hopefully. Until then I've got a tonne of photos I'm going thru. You can see them on instagram or Facebook. Juat search my name or true blue overland. Cheers again mate. Enjoy.

Great insight Tim. We have visited tnere several times. We even spent an AFL grand final at the pub years ago. How far up has tne Strzelecki been sealed to? I was even lucky enough to drive the Bore tk down to Ca.erons corner when it was open we paid our $10 fee once we reached the homestead. Cheers
@TimRumble
@TimRumble 7 месяцев назад
Ahhh nice mate. We experienced the AFL final there this year too. It was pretty packed for that. Bore track has been closed for a while now. The southern section anyway. The strz has only a couple of 100kms left before its fully sealed. It's still dirt near Lyndhurst and about 50 or 60 kms from Moomba to the T intersection south of Innamincka.
