We are used to certain dishes prepared in a traditional way hence when there is change we feel the dish is done incorrectly. In fairness to chef, he added the rasam powder. He did not add tamarind but added lemon juice. He lost a lot if weight and he is sharing recipes from which many can benefit. By definition " Rasam" means a thin spicy, soup. All comments are valuable and I do see why people say this is not a rasam recipe. Perhaps Chef should have named it Chicken Stock Soup.

I made this yesterday. It was mind-blowing! I never made such a unique recipe. I made it in the exact same way watching as I cooked (since I could not find the measurements anywhere), except that I used yellow mustard seeds for the paste and brown mustard seeds for the tempering. Thank you for this! I will be making it again and again.
