Hamas Health Administration does not distinguish between civilians and combatants. Also the expected natural mortality (about 5000 since 10/07) is not separated. Unfortunately, among the combatants are women and 16 and 17 years old teenagers, counted as children. Even more sadly, 80% of the Gaza population support Hamas (reminding of Germans supporting the Nazis in the 1930/40ies). Israel allows civilians to leave any area of combat and informs them individually and timely. Hamas deprives the civil population from help. Israel is not obliged to feed terrorists. Hamas still keeps the hostages and continues to attack Israel with rockets on a daily basis. The 10/07 massacre was unprecedented like the celebrations of this event by millions of muslims worldwide. I am absolutely shocked that all intellectuals left Israel alone in this devastating period of its existence. How dare you to accuse Israel of genocide in this situation? I have nothing but love and respect for Zizek's immense trajectory, but I really don't know why they would invite him at this stage of his career to write and comment on a situation he is clearly very ignorant about.
