while asleep (I keep the vacuum cleaner in the bedroom) it suddenly woke me up while flashing. I used it once and it does a good job. Do I have to shut it off and would I have troubles restarting when I need it ? Is it recommended to shut off anyways due to Thunderstorms?

So I guess I assumed that this thing would just be on all the time, but it looks like the main way to use. It is to set it to a run for an hour or a few hours and then it turns off. I saw that someone asked if it can be set up to Run all the time and the answer was yes, but my question now is - what is the optimal way to run one of these? Would it be typical to just turn it on for like two hours a day and that’s it or should it only be turned on a few times a week, or is having a get on always The best option?

Thanks for reaching out! The run time would be up to you, depending on how long you want it to run, where the product is, and how often you want it to filter; ie cooking odors. While your air purifier can be left running all the time, longer runtimes may shorten the HEPA filter's lifespan. We recommend keeping your air purifier in AUTO mode to optimize the HEPA filter life and performance. After 100% clean air status is achieved for 5 minutes in AUTO mode, your air purifier will enter ECO mode and further optimize your HEPA filter life.

I was happy with my new Shark duo clean cordless for six months, has great mechanism for picking up pet fur. Over course of time my enthusiasm had waned, parts started failing, parts began to break off. Credit to Shark customer service, they had replaced faulty parts without hassle. Currently I'm having to clean the tubing and vaccuum head due to constant blockage. The suction has deteriorated to such a degree that it's failing to pick up the smallest particle. When it is switched off, the particles will drop on the floor. The dust collecting chamber doesn't stay on, you have to brutally whack it hard to make it stay attached to the motor. It's now emitting terrible screeching sound, like a cat whose just been castrated. I think it's still under warranty? But, I've lost the will to live, as soon as my new Dyson V12 arrives, it's going in the bin.

Not being able to remove the debrit filter in the holding tank is a huge miss by shark. They want you just to wipe it but over time it gets completely clogged with hair and gunk.. by simply making it removable this problem would be solved and the vaccuum would be greatly improved.

To the 4 legged families, 1 run your finger above and below the brush roll area 2 run finger along the plastic that runs under the machine. 3 Clean the hose area under dirty reservoir 4 when the lid (top resecior) isn't screwed on sontigh😂t, you won't have streaks in other words, tighten the lid where the reservoir doesn't leak when turned upside down.

I own this fan and I’m having a serious problem. Apparently you use the same remote as the Roku TV every time I try to fast forward videos on my tv,it turns my fan off. It’s really annoying.

I bought mine second hand from someone who claimed they only used it a month and it didn't work good for them because they had a dog that shed too much hair, now a couple years later I'm trying to actually use it and I haven't plugged in and aligned properly and the light is on but it doesn't show any of the lights on the top so maybe it's just a different model? But I've had it plugged in for 24 hours and it still shows the blinking red low battery like an actual looks like a battery light. I don't know what's going on

After hours of research and rebooting everything... I used my wife's iPhone and it worked immediately. I was then able to select the robot on my Android phone. Not sure if there is a security setting or another config issue. Anyway... This is one more thing to try as you troubleshoot.

DO NOT BUY! Just bought this and hate it so much. It can’t map multiple floors, which makes it insanely dumb. If you lift it to mop a second floor it gets stuck in spot mode and there’s NO WAY to get it out of stupid spot mode.

Needs to be able to map multiple floors. Spot mode is trash. I can’t get it out of spot mode to clean my second floor which this dumb thing won’t mop. Just bought it. Hate it.

I've been using Shark products for years, having switched from Dyson, and have always been very satisfied. However, I purchased the Shark CarpetXpert with Stainstriker in December 2023. After using it three times, it stopped dispensing the solution in deep clean mode. I used it exactly as directed. Walmart wouldn't let me exchange it, the troubleshooting tips are useless, and I've had a terrible time reaching customer care. I'm very disappointed. 😡😡😡😡

Why are you not able to have 2 maps for 2 floors like your competition? Such a pain. You'd be able to add this to the app, why has that not been added. With that it would be up there with the leaders.

i couldn't buy a shark filter a year after I Bought my last Shark air purifier, had to go aftermarket. and the screen went out. i love my shark vac but will never buy an air purifier from them again.

It has a battery operated function too so there is a chance it will come on when not plugged in. Lock mode prevents the battery kicking in.

So far you can't do 2 maps. But what I'm doing is keeping one floor mapped and for the other floor and just clean without using the app

I just rebooted the vacuum which solved the connection problem. If this is an ongoing issue, I will return the vacuum.

Thank you for your interest in the Shark CarpetXpert! It dispenses water and deep clean pro cleanser when moving it in the forward position. Moving it back in the dry position will not dispense solution. We recommend repeating these steps once more.

I add the app to my Google home, and I can tell it to vacuum but it only does whole house. If I tell it to vacuum the kitchen it says "this device hasn't been set up"

The fact that it’s necessary to make a video about it means it’s not “easy”. I’m so frustrated I spent the last 15 minutes trying which is why I came to look for a you tube video to figure it out. So thank you but it shouldn’t be that difficult no matter how good the vacuum is
