Does the ground on the pcm go to the cab ? Mines missing the ground I got the truck I’m working on in a trade the moter and transmission was already in but I had plug in play everything and none the grounds are connected I’m trying figure out where all the grounds go.
I'm having a similar issue with P20A2 and P208C, pointing to the key on hot 12V supply to pin 3. I measured 3.5V harness side with both the pump and purge valve disconnected. I'll take a look at that connector and upstream based on your video, but how did you identify the break in that cable? Are there any other areas you think I should look along the cable run?
Hi Sean, great video! My journey has the exact problem. I hear the clicking around the bcm when I try the locks. One question is that wire harness going from the fuse box and makes it way back to the bcm. Do you have a wiring diagram? Thank you Phil.
Thank you you saved me I tapped the connection and I saw the tachometer moved then I went and disconnected all the connectors and one had some corrosion and some sort of liquid cleaned it and tried starting it again and truck started I have a 2011 ram 1500 5.7l
It doesn't take long to use HEAVY jumper cables and test for body , chassis and block grounds directly to negative terminal while watching the meter - as you did . Make sure terminal to post is also good before beginning . Great job !
BTW, this wiring failure is very common on Kia's. It seems as though they're too rough when building harnesses. I've come across this on many of them for mainly vent valves and front wheel speed sensors about an inch or so from the harness connectors. Won't be the last one you see.
Brilliant video tutorial great thank you very much helpful information video. QUICK-WITTED SEAN MILLER from Nick Ayivor from London England UK 🇬🇧 ⏰️ 22:56pm
Had a 2004 pilot come in with intermittent no start condition, couldnt duplicate it but.. that ground terminal on the block was in similar condition, replaced it and it didnt act up again
Question: I have very similar issue. The fuel pump ECU has been replaced (6 months ago) and now I have intermittent no start issues. Sometimes will start and run, other times nope! I am leading towards a faulty ground. There are NO codes read (aside from P1604 - startability malfunction - tells you truck didn't start when it was supposed to). That is pointing me to grounding issues..... Where is the ground for ECU and pump located? I have wiring diagram, points to ground labeld A5 but no indication where it is on the chassis
We have just experienced this with our Dodge Journey now that I know what to look for because it’s doing the exact same thing that you were showing thanks for the in-depth view of journeys electrical system the rear lock doesn’t work as well because of the wire on the rear gate is broke as well it was fixed once by a parts changer. I will have to dig in that as well You are a true mechanic sir not like the last parts changers you got it from great works appreciate you thanks Great video
I have a 2012 1500 that was doing the exact same thing, I started looking around at all the wires that run to the battery and alternator turns out there’s a wire that runs to the top of the alternator that’s was barely unplugged pushed it back in and stopped the issue immediately
2013 Nissan Sentra sl 1.8 i have overheating problems i have swapped out radiator and water pump and the 2 thermostats and has coolant and still iver heating oil level good no leaks anywhere what can it be?? Radiator fan also working im out of ideas my head hurts lol
If the pump isn't putting out the right amount of pressure that would result in a no start also right? My 2001 cranks but won't start I had a code say low voltage at the pump before it quit running I replaced the relay it still won't start . Is there a way to test the pump before dropping cash on a new one?
Thanks for sharing I have this problem on my Cadillac 2005 deville! I just really don’t know what to do! I have un hooked the battery and the car will shift find and about a hour later it will start shifting hard I checked the fluid! Ect I know this is a old post just thought I ask! Thanks ! Texas ☮️
I just recently replaced fuel pump and fuel pump relay on my 1997 dodge ram 1500 5.9 and she still does not start but she cranks. Gas gauge is not working either. Would you have any advice on what it might be?
My brother you are the BEST I have been having this issue for months buy all types of parts new fuse box new key fab pay all kind of MONEY 💵 fine you on RU-vid 11 pm and did what you said and my truck start right up thank you bro All the way from the BAHAMAS

hm. well my 2011 fusion. owned since 2014 at 40,000km fuel pump wires melted away and destroyed connector during winter. left me stuck and freezing. no heator a/c. wiring melted and destroyed connector. i connected the power wires only and bypassed the difuser. so it blows at its highest setting. it was winter with baby in car. now power steering failure. while in the drive thru of a mcdonalds. this fucking ford is driving me nuts...... oh and driver side door lock popped off and and now i been sticking a piece of metal in there . i have to use my left hand to hold lever out. then use right hand to push and pry the lock button to open door. all problems started 70,000km to current 110km so annoyed i forgot how fustrating the gas price is. Fix Or Repair Daily
I just bought this make model and year of truck and some odd stuff iv noticed when I turn my head lights on I get a whining noise over by the pcm and today I got a strong plastic burning smell from the general area anyone have any idea what that could be?
