We have just experienced this with our Dodge Journey now that I know what to look for because it’s doing the exact same thing that you were showing thanks for the in-depth view of journeys electrical system the rear lock doesn’t work as well because of the wire on the rear gate is broke as well it was fixed once by a parts changer. I will have to dig in that as well You are a true mechanic sir not like the last parts changers you got it from great works appreciate you thanks Great video
Good stuff, very impressive single handed testing - looks like Defazio work. Always think, "this stuff is easy to fix, if only you could take it out and put it all on a bench to test out in the open". Keep up the great videos, Sean.
i almost had the same thought process. i would have tried a bi directional test on the locks and if it didnt then id go after powers/grounds. good job man
Awesome video. I have this exact same problem. I’m surprised the bcm has no dtc’s with that much corrosion to a power supply wire. These Journeys sure have terrible wiring in them.
Awesome video, nicely done and I appreciate you taking the time to share this with us! Great to see how to check BCM inputs to see if signal was present on scan tool. Also, great bypass testing at the BCM to check the entire circuit. So do you have any idea as to why it corroded in that particular location in the harness?
Thanks Sean, great Vid, getting power to my actuators on 2012 300c, but the locks fail to pop sometimes, or struggle to pop, if anyone can help, I would really appreciate it
Cool man I had a rat in my 2009 dodge journey. I fixed all the wires on driver door that I saw. But my driver side lock still wont open with the fob or door locks. I checked the fuses and they look good. Any advice cant really get under the dash on driver side to see rest of the wiring. Thanks
Hi Sean, great video! My journey has the exact problem. I hear the clicking around the bcm when I try the locks. One question is that wire harness going from the fuse box and makes it way back to the bcm. Do you have a wiring diagram? Thank you Phil.
My trunk door hatch keeps locking over and over once the doors have already been locked , this happens while I’m driving !! I even hear a clicking sound coming from behind the glove box as u shown in the video .....I’ve replaced the key fob battery....what could the issue be and what do I need done to fix this issue ....the entire time I’m driving the car the doors keeps locking over n over and I keep hearing the clicking noise
i have dodge caliber 2009 sxt it has same problem but before when turn on the right or left signal i can hear the relay sound but know nothing can u help
I have 2014 dodge journey, I can lock and unlock the car either by the key fob or the passenger door switch, but when i try to lock or unlock using the driver door power switch is not working, i checked all fuses and change the power switch but still no improvement and still not working, what might be the issue ?
@@midelty1 hey Jebbouri, unfortunately still not working, I change the whole power switch but nothing happened, in case you have or find solution kindly share it please, thanks a lot.
Well it's nice when you have a computer I don't have one and I don't know how to do that stuff I'm just trying to find an easy way to find out if I have a short where to look or what the replace probably just something easy
