Just bought one, thank you! This review answered a lot of questions about the transmission as the closest GT was a plane ride away so I could only test a lower trim.
Hi I now stumbled upon this video. Great explanation but my question would be if I am to decide between upgrading my factory double din head unit with an aftermarket head unit that has a built in digital eq and has a voltage output of 2.5v (Kenwood). Which scenario would allow me to get a better sound quality changing the head unit or just adding the Li c7 instead while keeping the factory head unit. (System would consist of (4) 6.5" door speakers, (1) 10"sub and a 5 channel amplifier. Thanks in advance for any advice.
Just installed mine according to your video, and I cannot seem to get the rear speakers to work. Everything is plugged in except for the two you had left over, the white plug and the ground. I have the telemetrics box, and I plugged in the green port as well, I noticed you did not. Is there reasoning for that? Overall, amazing install guide vid 😀
Something to note is that unlike when you turn the car on/off, when you reboot from the HU your time/date will be reset. I am not sure if other settings get reset, but they might. Nothing too crazy, but there is a difference.
I am just researching the IAG AOS for installation in a different platform. I appreciate your explanation and pace of the video. Thanks for your contribution.
Are you able to just pop off the faceplate on the aftermarket dash kit if you want to access the head unit later? Or do you need to disassemble a bunch?
Had mine for five years now and not single fault or condensation. I'm going to buy another set just in case I ever need one and they no longer make them.
The VA CVT also has the same brake calipers. They're good for autocross, honestly. I don't think I'd want them for a track day but if you take the VA or VB to a track day it's likely you're not picking the CVT or if you are then it's almost certainly modified to handle the stress
The problem is that some cars (ex. CX50) don't have a fuse for on while running in inside fuse box and you have to run wire to the other fuse box located in engine bay. The other option includes getting it from the cigarette lighter outlet (but you have to get it after removing the outlet). And if you give it to professional installer, your car may still throw some weird code. Everything seems to be getting more, not less complicated. And, forgot to mention; permanent installation of any non-genuine device can compromise car warranty.
Man you saved my life with this vid. My car was fluctuating between 170-245° coolant temp all the way to and from work today, I thought i was gonna blow my motor and be out of work for months. I followed this vid to a T, and it worked like a charm, coolant sits happily at 175° now like it should. Bless you man 🙌 -for reference, my car is a 2011 wrx. This method works great for it.
outback limiteds sound pretty good... and i say slightly better than the rockford systems i've heard... harmans are slightly better and sound better and clear at a high volume than rockford.. that being said ... i have heard better systems than harmans as well
Why car factories use CVT.? Is there any good reason other than money? If you ask me, there are no good reasons to use a CVT. than other more reliable gearboxes. Factories and people have have known this since the 90's that this is a problematic gearbox. You cannot improve everything forever. As long as cvt has this belt, cvt will. always be a bad gearbox. Isn't it time to scrap this design and admit that car factories have failed big.
I really liked this explanation. It’s probably the best I’ve ever seen. No useless info No stuttering No second guessing the info you already gave No nerdy squeaky voice Good pace Good authenticity in your knowledge. I think, if everybody made videos like this, instead of trying to appear smart and putting on a ridiculous “high energy” persona, the world would be a better educated place. I’m going to sub and hopefully you will make some additional car stereo videos. Suggested video: Setting with oscilloscope. ;)
I just got my 24' WRX about a week ago, I grew up in lower income conditions, so this is my first brand new performance car, I never even heard of new car break in before as all my previous cars were pre-owns. I've been following the suggestions overall with keeping under 4000 rpms, it is a 6 speed. Though there are times when I have gotten it just above 4 to 5000 rpms, I commute to work every day with about an hr travel time both to and from work. I'm currently still under 300 miles, it had 6 miles when I drove it off the lot. It's a hard car to drive so carefully with so much power and torque at your fingertips I admit.
I live in Alaska... So, if I have this, and my battery is completely dead and its -60 outside (it happens) I am basically bear shit because this isn't going to do me any good right? I think the NOCO is for me.
Isn't it true the yellow wire isn't always to the constant battery, but it depends on the camera. I have seen some cameras were the yellow is ACC power
I have a '21, Unless some Karen destroys it in a Cybertruck I don't plan on selling it anytime soon. Personally I prefer the look and the "unrefined-ness" of the VA. Sat in a VB and it felt more like a luxury car than a sports sedan but Subaru is trying to go for that premium market.
I got a 16 WRX with a CVT. Around 65k since I only drive it on weekends on nice days. Stage 1 with most parts for chassis stiffening Definitely drives the way I like it if I were to take it to the track. Checks my list for a fun car People need to understand that Subie CVT really is different I drove a Nissan versa as a rental I you can really tell a difference Sure it’s still a cvt but if your not looking into doing crazy mods then cvt is an option Of course manual will still be king on driver engagement and what you can do power wise But let be honest not everyone has the $ or wants to go FBO. And everyone has their own priorities.
