Wingfoil newbie 🇩🇰. this channel is about my progress as a newbie. when I started A few years ago, there was nobody that could tell me anything about this new wonderful sport. spending a lot of money on the wrong equipment, and trying to learn it by myself, it has been a steep learning curve, and a lot of failure, now I’m finally getting closer to understand this sport.

Pumping skill where looking good tho . Keep thinking unwieght board well done good progress just need a little more wind. Im sending you some good winds for you next session 😅😊😊
Oh dear, the one is fighting with too much wind, the other with less to none wind 😊 But you should never underestimate the power of pumping. so you are prepared for your next session with maybe a bit more wind... and then you fly! 😊🤙
@@flyingfootage if a gust comes you must do what you did, and then for a second steer downwind, do another pump and you might get up. but power fixes all your problems. this condition is pretty much impossible, maybe with an 8m f1 but its an investment that indont regret
I think it'd be better to 3D-print almost a full ring mount and place it on the front beam before inflation. No way that would come off until you deflate.
Great to see your progress 🎉! I love your videos. Thanks for all the tips about mounting the camera. Best thing is we are flying now. The longer rides will come soon. Light wind is also very difficult for me too. I take off at a speed above 10 km/h only. Pumping helps but mostly I get off board shortly after starting to pump 😂!
Great, well done, mate!!! The back foot more back just helps you to balance the board off the water. And you did it! Now its time to balance the flight. give it a bit lean back to gain air and lean forward to balance it out... and then... you flyyy!!! :D
always super welcome @flyingfootage 😊 You should also stop pumping when the board leaves the water and you feel the foil starting its work. There is too much disturbance in your board when pumping. Just get in position, lean against the wind and hold your back hand tight to hold the wings pressure to gain speed.
Insane conditions. But you stay longer on the board which I see as a progress to balance overall. I think you have to shift the mast some centimeters to the back and step back with your back foot as well. I mean this much wind you should fly instantly 😊 Keep up the good mood, you are close to it 🤙
👏👏👏 Good, more progress! I am still rooting for your success! Also, use your rear hand to control the amount of power you need or sometimes more importantly, don't need. Keep flying!
set the foil back 1 to 2 cm. you get off balance when the boatd gets out, you need to lean more forward and rhen fly it !! looks close . don't step around too much on the board.
@flyingfootage It took some time and I was really in it to investigate whats going wrong and that you are not able to lift off in really ideal conditions. I see this now, after watching your unboxing video of your Lance board from two years ago. When I watch this video here I see that your back foot is nearly complete on the black pad. But I have seen that the inserts for your footstraps are on the yellow pad. And this is the point here. I mean the manufacturer knows where to place the inserts for the foot straps, aint? They place them where your mast is. And this is it! You are far ahead of your board and thats why cant lift off. Your weight still pressing on the board and the upforce of your foil frontwing cant lift you off. Step back and orientate yourself to the inserts for the footstraps on your board. This will change everything!
sometime ago I draw two lines on the board one foot in front off the foot strap position ,because I found out that I could control the board more easy, now I’m better ,I guess it’s time to use the correct position. thank you for your time and efforts, I do appreciate it
Yesterday I was on the water again, this time with crazy wind condition. 35 Knot or 18 m/s. A lot of lift , and a lot of crashes. Will be released this upcoming weekend. In some of the clips I Believe my foot is in the foot strap position , maybe 🤣
@@flyingfootage yes, yesterday was a hell of a wind. we had more than 30 knots as well. My smallest wing is 5 sqm and I had the fear of break some material or my bones. way too much wind to handle for me. So I decided to stay at home. nit taking the risk. but I can't wait to see your new video 🤗
@@flyingfootage I'll clarify it a bit more where you slow down the video. you can clearly see that you lose balance and both of your toes or heels are off the board. this is because you stand on one line. In martial arts this is also discouraged because of sideways instability, for example in a jiu jitsu defensive stance you are encouraged to stand At shoulder width with with your feet not on one line. you need this offset to be able to balance the board left to right. on a snowboard it's different because you have the bindings. on a windsurfer you can stand on one side because you will switch to the other side during a jibe. when wing foiling you need to find a stance that you can have for both heelside and toe side riding and that is comfortable and allows you to have good leverage on the board front to back and side to side. for me that is front foot on the windward side of the middle line and back foot towards the downwind side it helped me a lot for jibing, riding toeside, but also general stability
No skill? You stood up with the wing on a 150l board with no wind. That's not nothing. ;) I'm 65 and just trying (again) to wing foil after spendng last 2 summers E foiling on a Lift Efoil. Now time to learn the wing! :)
Hi mate hope you are well ? Not sure where you Put the foil in the mast track but if i remember with a xxl allvator i had it at around 4 . As you pump and pull with your arms you will start to get forward movement and more speed and lift , you need to keep front foot forward and then level the board think about your feet balancing the front foil like standing in the middle of a seesaw or balance board . To start flight you will need back foot to push and or bounce a little to start the takeoff then front foot to level the flight. your board and foil are fine for you to learn you go not need to buy anything more imo , you just need to keep at it in strong 10 meters per second winds or 20 mph or more and work on pumping and take off and flight it will come . great video and I enjoy seeing you progress all the best Chris
Hi Chris, that is by far The best deskription ever, it makes a lot of sense , Thanks a bunch . I can’t emphasize enough how much it means. Mast position is exactly 4, I tried 5 but I quickly went back to 4. Can’t wait to get out and try. 🙏👍🏄🏼♂️
@@flyingfootage no problem try holding the wing slightly in front of you so you are pulling downwind for extra boost and speed to get up ,good luck mate ,
There is a touch of air coming up 👍 Soon, bro, soon! What are the measurements of board, frontwing, wing, your weight? I have the feeling that one of these does not fit perfectly. I know that Björn Zeborac - I like his channel - just changed his board and went from eventual small flights to a real long flyer within a month...
That is an interesting theory I am all ears. My weight is 80 kg, board 5’8 x 32” x 5 1/4” 130L. Front wing Gong Galaxy Allvator xxl 100. Stab L 46cm 350 cm. Thank you very much for the advice I will look into it. 🙏🏄🏼♂️
@@flyingfootagewhat size is the frontwing then? 2200 sqcm? do you have by any chance to measure your speed on the water? When I started without any pump action experience I needed to have around 15 knots to lift off, with around 94 kg weight, 5 sqm, 190 liter board, 2200 sqcm frontwing and around 10 to 12 km/h speed. Nowadays, if u check my latest videos, its a bit earlier with 8-10 km/h and may a bit less wind. This is caused by a little less weight I have on my ribs... yay!... and a better pump technique to get more pressure out of the wing. My foot position improved and is more balanced. And the feeling for the upforce momentum is clear. Sometimes you have the right speed but the balance works against you. Lean back a bit, let the board lift off and let the foil do its magic and lean forward again to regulate your boards horizontal position. For me this is always like a plane starting curve comparison. Take speed, lean back a bit without stalling, and lean forward when in midair to balance the board again. I cant explain this better, this is based on the feeling I have in the water, so it may help you a bit... And watch may some videos about pumping for a optimal wing movement. It has to be more in circles then just forward and back... Hope this helps... 😊
@@PeterGogolin thank you very much for your interest and your advice I do appreciate it. Yes the wing is 2200 cm. I will check your video later today. thanks mate 🙏🙏
@@flyingfootage I just realized that you have like 8 m/s wind. this is by far, for the equipment you have, enough to lift off. What about your foot position? Do you have the feeling that you have enough speed but cant take off? There is a way to check the balance of your board which should indicate your foot position on the board. You may check Damien LeRoy ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4rt1bhiMvhU.html he can explain things very well. I had my AHA-effect when putting my feet some centimeters back which came like a wonder, the board was really greedy to take off now. My back foot is exactly where the mast is and my foot position in width is slightly wider than my shoulders. you should make marks on your board to help you adjust and orientate where your rmast is and where you should position your feet. Good luck for your next session! Cant wait to see more :) check ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Fqr4shpVUU8.html as well :D
Why not both on each side? I only use on the central strut as the angle is always the same opposed to leading edge when it either too low or too high. That's a lot of keyframing and editing from 2x 360 cameras.
At first I did put them on the side ,and I do like that angle. Then I decided .I need different angles. furthermore I Think that the central strut camera is too close to the person, but if I could find some kind of extension arm it will be a significant improvement.
@@flyingfootage I place it right at the end of the strut and it the mount it too but I put a half of pool noodle foam to hold it in place but with smaller wings it's a problem
You should be fine, Lean more forward. Also don't stand in the middle of the board length wise, put your back foot over the center line so the heel is on the center line. This will give you better control over the board rolling sideways.
@@flyingfootage I agree with @StefanWelker A bit more weight on the front foot will help. Little pushes of weight on the back foot to get the foil flying and then level out with more front foot pressure. It will come.
It seems like you fear when the foil go up. Take some speed and let it go. Don’t stop the power in the wing. Believe in you and go up. Stay right, on the midle line of your board. Be cool and it will happen.
Thank you very much for your advice I do appreciate it. 🙏 every time I get some lift my board goes to my right side, I guess it is because I’m not standing in the middle of the board as you ar Suggesting, next time I go out I will try to rethink my foot position. 🙏🏄🏼♂️
@@flyingfootage exactly, this indicates that your balance point is a bit too much on the right of the long line center of the board. I would try to put marks on your board, as I have on the Fone Rocket Air. There is a marker for the most front position for my front foot and the back foot tries to stay above where the mast is - I can see the fin box a bit on the surface - and try to keep my back foot centered the there. After the lift off I shift the back foot a bit to the front to put more pressure on the front that the foil does not stall. The balance comes with the ride.
My friend, looks quite promising. It seems like you are just some small moments away from the aha-effect to take off for a good and stable flight. I can feel it 😊
It's almost time for the new season! :) I got the Lance wood 5'7 and Droid 5m, waiting for wind, and available time! :) Have fun this year, good luck, and i'll keep an eye on your progress. :)
