God's Clowns reduced me to tears of joy (a lot like Roller Maiden's "Oops, apotheosis!" moment...) I know no higher truth. It's not "Man plans, God laughs"., it's just "God laughs".
The one aspect of FT and their comedy that fascinates me ever since we started listening to them was the sheer breadth of knowledge required to 'get' all the jokes.
Thanks to Popeye152 for getting “Pink Hotel Burns Down” and “Lawyer’s Hospital” on RU-vid for me. If you are a fan of Firesign Theater you will love these long-absent treasures. Show him some love and subscribe to his channel.
I had a 32 Channel once.. we had to replace every fader with in the year as they went scratchy.. Pretty bad, ended up selling it ok.. but was never a real fan...
I do remember all the protection of a fire spreading from the projection booth to a theater. In the 20's they had nitro cellous film which was highly flammable so all the protection. Later film base material changed to a less flammable medium so were at dangerous.
I flew from Maryland to California twice to see both their Monterey show (discussed in this video) and Redding a couple of years later. Both enjoyable!!
I've been going through my cds recently, and today I listened to Don't Crush That Dwarf,Bozos on this Bus,and Give me Immortality. It had been years since I had heard them, and it was an absolute blast. So this presentation was a perfect update to this incredibly important group of comic geniuses.
Actually, it’s a reference to something that happened earlier in the concert which hasn’t been posted yet. The backstory is that Rockman the drummer had been hearing about Gideon, but made a reference to it him being like Bigfoot, as far as strictly being a rumor and not seen where upon, they began to refer to themselves as Bigfoot and the unicorn, the original story is better, but that’s the compressed take on it
That's so fucked but it did come from China lol. Obviously the customer service is horrible when something comes damage to your home and they refused to fix it but the fact that they told you to do it yourself is another level seriously!
Do you have any idea where this footage came from?? A friend sent me this yesterday and as a former Bloomingtonite for 30+ years I'm fascinated by this and its origins!
saw the other vid about the toft....i have the same board you have (SC Spirit studio 24) that I picked up a year ago, cleaned up, and finally have installed. looking forward to using it but it is very cool seeing your setup and what you've been thru, some of your recordings, and your impressions of the board. I also think the best thing is to add external pre's to it...although the onboard is okay. Love that ISA 4 chan. wish you well!
