Fishing for many different species in many different locations. Everything from Fly fishing for Trout, to Float fishing for Wrasse and smashing Pollock on lures, with the occasional Pike session too.
Brilliant video and well done on some stunning fish, this is the first time I have seen your videos and it won’t be the last, well done again. I might take a wee drive up there next year sometime.
I use a GoPro 11. I do everything on the one camera. It’s great in general but when it’s windy the sound can be really bad. I edit just on iPad, it’s easy to use and has all I need. I’m going to look into using a different microphone for better quality sound but I’m hopeless with technology so will probably take me ages to get round to it.
I’ve been fishing up at Elie lighthouse recently as I found Anstruther really busy but it looks good there. I’m catching plenty of good sized coal fish and I think you’re onto something with hook size. I’ve been slowly reducing and stopped at 1/0’s and 1’s for most of the Fife coast. Are you on the Facebook Scotland fishing pages at all? (Sea fishing Scotland) Another subscriber here in West Fife. Tight lines pal
@@scootyman2974 thanks much appreciated. I’m not on FB. I’ve always been a believer that you don’t need big baits and hooks to catch big fish, might be because I grew up trout fishing, catching big fish with size 14s etc. The next sea fishing video, filmed on Saturday, we catch 3 or 4lb pollock on size 2 circles. Cheers
@N57Fishing I'm thinking on buying a wee boat and wondered if you had a video on the one you and your mate use , in terms of what engine costs ect , not sure if anyone would watch that one though just me lol 😉
Where about is the sea loch . Also wonder if u could help . I’ve been fishing a lot recently but can’t seem to find any big fish . Only been fishing harbours and local marks mind you but how can I find the bigger fish from shore
@@Castlevales it’s loch long. One of the best tools I use to find new places to fish is the marine charts. Here’s a link, you can check depths and drop offs maps.garmin.com/en-GB/marine/?maps=another-brand&overlay=false&key=9z1fmr1ux877 deeper water doesn’t always mean bigger fish but it usually helps a bit. Some places can look great on Google maps or in real life but when you check the charts it’s 2m deep for miles. Steeper drop offs usually help with getting snagged less as you aren’t dragging your gear over the bottom for as long when winding back in too. Harbours are mostly luck for bigger fish, sometimes they’re there sometimes they’re not. Where are you located?
Great videos mate, appreciate your hard work putting them together. Those Trout are beauties, so definitely worth keeping the location quite, So many lochs have been decimated.
This brought back so many memories mate, it's been over 40 years since I last fished skeen. 4/5 wt rods and a dapping rod and line, occasionally landed some decent wildies off the top. Unfortunately my old legs wouldn't get me up there now but great to see the place again. Subscribed, cheers.
Well done on the catches and the variety, always good to get different species. On the pollock you were talking about i have seen some nice size ones coming out of there but not caught by me sadly. Tight lines.
I was up at Loch Duich last Thursday/Friday . The early September weather was amazing. 25 degrees centigrade. Beautiful fishing spot, but not many fish. The best fish I had was a pollack around 3lbs. You can go to the best looking marks but if the fish ain’t playing….
So glad you caught so many mate I was back up there yesterday and they stripped my bait everytime ..even had a bent hook 😢..its a cracking spot if you can get a 5mtr tide ..still time for Makarel ..theres Cod just by the creel pots too
@@andrewcollins867 usually size 4 or 6. I’m sure I had 6s on the close in rod and 4s on the other one, I changed those to 1/0 circle hooks after the big wrasse nearly straitened one.
Great video mate 👍 well done. I'd definitely be taking some light spinning gear or an LRF set up next time with all the coalies and wrasse about. Thanks for posting.
