Hello everybody, and thank you for tuning into my channel! I am an experienced, Master ASE certified gearhead that likes to tinker, and modify older vehicles. I have been building in my garage for about 25 years now, and have just decided to give RU-vid a try. Watch my videos, let me know what you think, and tell me what you want to see me build next.
from NEW JERSY good video so beautiful job I, have F350 2001 super duty 7.3 cool times is not starting heve last liking thank you for this video GOD bless you and your family 🇺🇸💕🇬🇹
I have been having some brake issues on my 95 F 350, the calipers are sticking, dragging. So I am gonna have to do some of this, and was unsure on the bearings, and orientation of all those collars and spacers and lock rings. Thank you SO much for showing all of this!!!
There isn't much about the orientation. 1 locking washer will line up with the groove in the spindle, and the others will lock with a pin against each other.
Thank you for watching! I can't remember the torque specs off the top of my head, and it may vary based on your application. Try searching 7.3 FEAD bracket installation. Ford calls the belt a FEAD belt. It stands for Front Engine Accessory Drive.
The main difference is the flow rate. The stage 1 is good to about a 180cc injector, the stage 2 is good to about 300cc injector, then you would want to look at an adrenaline.
Pleasure watching someone that knows what they are doing and has a larger vocabulary than 5 or 6 profanities. So how is it holding up? Any issues with the rebuild?
Help, I purchased the kinetic shut off switch, but does not have the male plug to wire it in. Do you have a source or p/n for it. Thanks in advance... Dave Kellum
I don't have a part number for one, but sometimes you can look through Rockauto.com website and find a generic connector that will fit. If not, you could probably get one from a junk yard.
This is the most beautiful, most professional cleanest swap I have ever ever seen. I had a wreck back in February this year 2024 with my 99 7.3 long story short it’s my work truck so I damage from bumper to bumper slip in a ditch hit and ran over a fence bob wire 2 electricity posts, a 2 cedar trees about 7 inch diameter one medium size 10” in diameter that’s what stopped my 7.3 me driving 45 mph in small 1” snow fall a non traffic farmer market rd in north east Texas anyways engine stills turned and ran for a min when they delivered my truck to my house I had lots of weight on my rig tools toolboxes welding lead welder tanks etc . I was kind of intimidated by me swapping this engine to another truck but watching this video actually motivated me to get to work on it because it’s late may and I just keep procrastinating it some say to sell parts but I don’t want to that truck never leaked oil no blow by I took good care of her with 299k miles and still ran like a champ I never burned rubber or anything no show off and it was a beautiful truck giving me almost 20 mpg with weight running around 55-65 mpg ok I know I said long story short my ? From me to you do you think that it would be worth swapping the engine to a 2008f250 gas engine since I wrecked it would the engine be ok or do you recommend retirement for the engine?
I am totally amazed,,, you take many bolts out and put many bolts back... How the heck do you keep them organized, cleaned, and back in place. I never see baggies in any of your videos??? How the heck do you stay so organized??? Your performance and abilities are amazing ! God has blessed you with amazing skills .. . Dave Kellum :o)
Hello Again: Note @ 31:19 you show the new fuel line ends and the fancy quick release clips... Where can I get them? Do they have a name, label, or part number, and source? Thanks in advance... :o) Dave K.
Hello Again: At what point or video do you install the Glow Plugs ? Which Video ? Many Thanks, Dave Kellum... Trying to make a decision to by a Regular Long Block or a Chote HP Long Block ? Would love to get your opinion. My truck has 417,550 miles. No Smoke, but suspect injectors are leaking fuel into the oil pan...
I believe it was episode 2.5 that I install the glow plugs. I don't believe I videoed it though. I'm always skeptical of aftermarket engines. I would rather build my own, or have mine rebuilt by a reputable shop.
The swap isn't too bad.... Especially if you have a donor truck. The transmission harness should be plug and play, the rest of it is just nuts and bolts.
Because they don't fit. The oil pan and bell housing get hung up. You can connect the 2 together on a gas engine, but not a power stroke.... It's just too big to fit.
I've seen on some of the aftermarket performance HPOP kits, it comes with an additional crossover line. Just curious to why you did not do that. Advantage? Benefits?
Really appreciate you taking the time to discuss that check spring thing! Been kinda confusing watching other videos. Some people say reinstall them…. Anyways, mind is set! Will be installing per the instructions! (Which is what you displayed for us to see very clearly). Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledgez with us! I think more and more people are starting to realize what the old 7.3 has to offer!
Did you swap over to the supderduty style Exhaust back pressure setup?? Or was that something that changed in 97? I also noticed you did the SD valve cover upgrade. I want to do that but I'm hesitant since I just spent $425 on a new motor harness:P
I believe you are talking about the exhaust pressure sensor and tube... I'm running the 97 set up. And yes, I am running the single connector valve covers gaskets. They are worth it!
@@mygarage. I'll swap over to the new style valve covers next time I do them. Just got a new motor harness and valve cover gaskets with my new injectors. Should buy me about 3 years or so. And interesting about the EBP sensor. Didn't realize they changed the location of those to the front in 97. My 96 still has it in back of the HPOP
Great channel! I love your methodical approach. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. The background music on your previous videos was pretty cool. I called it powerstroke porn. Lol 2 years ago, i did a dana 60 swap into my 97 f250hd from a 97 f350 . The axle guy i bought the axle from completely rebuilt it for me. After some research, i heard about XRF ball joints. They have a million mile warranty. They seemed to be a step above the regular auto parts stuff. Also highly rated on the forums. They seem to work great. Time will tell. The axle guy must have had low profile zircs cause mine dont have clearance issues. Hopefully, both of us won't have to worry about new ball joints for a while. Your backing plate looked pretty good for 30 years old. They dont last that long in the northeast. Lol By the way, the special tool or socket for removing the hub nuts also works great for removing and installing Hunter Sprinkler heads.✌️
you probably should wrap the turbo exhaust and get a heat shield sock for the exhaust side of the turbo housing. The rest of your build looks fantastic.
There really isn't a need for it. Nothing needs to be protected from that portion of the exhaust, and the heat wrap causes the pipe to break down because it can't dissipate heat.
Sorry I meant the EBP sensor bracket. It might be different than my truck mine it’s a 95 and I recently upgrade the reservoir hpop billet with an spacer from Riffraff and they recommended to upgrade the EBP sensor bracket. So mine seats just behind the reservoir and not in front like yours. Don’t know if that make sense
Oooohhh! I totally misread your question! I was thinking of the turbo pedestal back pressure valve. No, my EBP sensor is on the same metal tube, location, and bracket as stock. But I'm running a stock OBS reservoir.
Amazing video. My 97 7.3 still runs amazing at 260k but I know one day it will come out and I now know where to go for my engine teardown and rebuild. Any reason why you did not remove the oil gallery plugs and replaced the orings? Thanks from Revelstoke BC Canada.
Hey man, I really appreciate the quality content:) I may have missed this, but how many miles were on this motor and did you do a compression check before doing all this work and not digging into the pistons and crank?
Thank you! I'm glad you like my videos. I don't know how many miles were on the engine. The odometer in the donor truck had junk yard paint pen markings on it, and the engine serial number dates it as a 1998. I did check the compression before I took it all apart and it had between 385 and 405 in all cylinders. I peeked at the cylinders, and a few bearings when I had the oil pan off. I think it is a reman crate motor. 🤷
I always liked your choice of music for your videos😂. Spot on. Keep up the good work on your videos man. Your clear, concise, and present useful and in a lot of cases in depth information. I don’t have one of these trucks yet, but I will. When I do I’m gonna come back to these videos when I get her all how I want.
When you had it mounted on the stand what size bolt did you use to mount it on the back of the block? I am searching forums but I’m not finding anything
