I have a 2013 GTI and I am preparing to car camp this fall and winter. I will be sleeping in my GTI and cooking outside of it. I will be taking out the front passenger seat so that I can extend my legs fully and more room for storage. I will be doing this even in the dead of winter when the temperature drops to -40 degrees Celsius.
Not bad ..My damn BMW cost me 5k for the first year..And it's a 2012..stupid vanos problem and transmission problem..Need to trade my bmw in for SKYLINE GTR!!!
How are you measuring 6-ft in the back, even with the rear seat folded. I measured 58 inches... not even five feet. At 6-ft tall, I'd have to remove the front passenger seat to even have a prayer at sleeping in my GTI. Still a cool concept video, though. Take care!
This is cool man! I do DoorDash, and have considered traveling while working, and living out of my MK7 GTI. If I do so, I might get a rooftop tent while I do so.

You can literally shower in the woods with a gallon of water. Just buy yourself a garden hose sprayer and find a secluded spot, put the sprayer in the sun first thing in the morning and the water will be warm by noon. I’ve been living out of my Golf R in the mountains for 4 months. I don’t stink, and I sleep comfortably. I own the car, so now I’m saving to buy land with cash so that I can build a house. Rent was heavily interfering with my savings and I don’t use credit, so living in the Golf is the best option for the time being
Hmm you're probably right. This video was when I had just gotten this, my first PRO, and hadn't really tested it's capabilities. I will say that the video downplays how steep the hill was and we were nervous about the loose gravel. I'll try it again soon in 4hi just for you, Daddy.
What do you guys think? I got a 2012 GTI, 84k miles, rebuilt engine with only 12k miles, new radiator and water pump 2k miles, and new tires 2.5k miles. I have $17.4k on my loan for it still but dealerships ball me $8.5k-9k, are they right or should it be worth more?
I probably wouldn't have thrown the resonator away straight away, what if you didn't like the sound? It would cost a shitload of money to buy one from VW.
Not that difficult. I drove one for 20 minutes and it cost me less than 100 bucks. But if you can, opt for driving 40 minutes or longer because you don't want to get out and the time flies by
So what you're saying is...only buy a GT-R if you have a plug for every expected and unexpected expense in car ownership who can practically make your ownership cheap if not free. Thanks.
