I like how Palpatine basically admits to pre meditated murder and then promptly claims that the Jedi have no legal grounds to arrest him.

Novel was sort of like this, Palpatine said straight up to Mace that being a sith wasn't illegal.

One of Palpatine's political aides is going to either get fired for giving windu the green light to attempt an arrest, or get promoted for giving windu the greenlight knowing that he would resort to using a saber so Sidious could do his signature "backwards corkscrew spin and scream" that got him elected in the first place.
