I want to add that the wireless chargers are almost completely useless if they do not have cooling. I have one in my Wagoneer and I tested it in the Fiat as well and they both stop charging after a few minutes.
Thanks for the great review! How the acceleration look like when the battery is fully discharged? What the 0-60 when the battery is out of charge? I had a Honda Clarity plug in hybrid and its was nice on pure EV and Hybrid but once the battery is out of charge the car will run on gas engine only and its noisy, unrefined and very weak! Does this car keep some juice to aid the gas engine when battery runs out?
If you've recently bought or are planning to buy a Volvo, I’d love to hear from you! I’m conducting market research in US or GERMANY and offering a 200 usd incentive for interview. Please comment below if you’re interested!
Fair enough! It might be my old camera or the green cast from the trees not doing the bronze color justice. Glad you liked the video, thank you for watching!
I think Ford really needs to do what they need to do to let people qualify for the rebate. You can get the 2024 M3 Performance right now and get the rebate. That’s a pretty huge selling point in favor of the Tesla
Thanks for the review. I'll be test driving a Mach-E as I decide which EV to go with at the end of the year, and the interior noise is a factor. I will be listening intently for the same whine and wind noise that you mentioned in your driving impressions. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 that I drove was very pleasantly quiet while driving and it was a pretty big plus to me.
Great review!!! We have the 2017 Prime Advanced, which is the same generation and pretty much identical to the 2020. It is by far the best car we have ever owned and it is so fun to drive. The technology is fun, and I like all the little oddities about it. Personally, I like the fact that it has a manual emergency brake. It has less tendency to malfunction and more reliable in an emergency situation.
Thank you for taking the time to comment, I’m so glad you are happy with it! It’s definitely full of quirks and has some pretty fun exterior styling. I will also add that the tactile feel of a manual parking brake can’t be beat. I wish you many trouble-free miles!
@@MichaelDrivesOfficial I would look at the breakdown of how many of their cars are Fleet/Rental purchases. This one looks interesting but Kia/ Hyundai vehicles looks like they are great new and then they decline quickly. Their warranties look great on paper but I have read and heard from owners that Kia tries every possible way to not honor those warranties. Who wants to spend 50k+ on a vehicle only to be treated like garbage? It just doesn’t make good buying sense.
Honestly one of the bet Polestar 2 reviews out there and I've seen quite a lot them. Not sure why this one didn't get more views but RU-vid is a weird place sometimes. Few things to note, as someone else pointed out already, Apple Maps extends all over the gauge cluster once you use it, unfortunately it doesn't get the battery information and can't do EV routing in the Polestar. Apple Maps can do it, but Polestar hasn't implemented it, let's hope this will change in the future. One thing to note is that if you use Google Maps to navigate to a charger the car will pre-heat the battery so you can charge with the maximum speed right off the bat. In Europe the Dual Motor cars have the new battery as well, I have no idea why they did you dirty like that in the US. I agree that Single Motor is probably the way to go because of the range, I get mine as a company car and in order to get some extra discount I had to settle for an existing pre-configured car so I got it in time and I had to go with the Dual Motor. I mean at least it's fun. I find it super weird when people are talking about leather seats and that the animals were treated humanly. It's leather, it's skin from dead animals, the animals were killed for those seats, just own that and don't wash your conscience with some "the animals had a good life" BS. No offense. Design-wise I have to disagree with you, the Polestar 2 is one of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen, it stands out, it just looks gorgeous. The Polestar 3 and 4 are just some cars, they look okay but they can't match the beauty of the Polestar 2. For some reason the design team just nailed it with the Polestar 2 and just couldn't repeat it with the newer models. I just prefer the exposed grill on the pre-2024 models to that new SmartZone design. As stated, very good review, great overview over the car.
Thank you for watching, your compliment made my day. I’m still the “little guy” in the world of RU-vid and am still in the early stages of subscriber growth so that’s possibly why I don’t get suggested like the more seasoned accounts. Thank you for pointing out the Apple Maps full-screen capability, I am always learning and appreciate the note on that. Amazing that the 2 is your company car, I’d keep working for them cause that’s a great perk! Over time, the design of the 2 of the car has grown on me, some angles I love and others I’m not entirely sure, and I do love boxy because I learned to drive on an ‘85 Volvo 740 GLE. I think the Polestar 2 just sits a bit too high, obviously because of the battery that’s packed in down below. It will be very interesting to see what the design of the cars successor will look. Thanks again for commenting, and feel free to share the review or channel!
Such a beautiful ride! But in person - it's even more regal. I just purchased it a few weeks ago and I've had so many people asking me about it. LOL! Very fun and pleasant to drive too!
Recommendation of a rex in a time when the combuster technology passes away? Curios. 2nd and more important: The rex only charges the battery. This has no physical/chemical advantage for the battery. It's more reciprocal. The battery is more often charged because of the rex, even while driving. That shortens the life of the battery. Take the 120Ah battery and you will be fine for 95% of your trips.
@@Eishocker for me the rex is there so i never fast charge i never use public chargers i only charge at home which is of course good for the battery my battery has lost no capacity in it's 6 years and even if it did, the rex is there, so to sum up with rex i have a ev with no downside i never needed it , no hassle for me no planning journeys no waiting for it to charge if i want to drive anywhere in the uk i can.....without a plan...
@@whocares264 Sorry, there is no hassle with 120Ah. In Germany, where i am resident, i travel 200km even on the highway. After 200km I need a pause and pee and buy a coffee where I charge if needed. At home I charge from my photovoltaic system. The BMW i3s 120Ah is the best and most reliable small car I have ever owned. And moreover I "kill" every BMW M3 starting from traffic lights.
You should try the turn radius of a smart 453, it will run inside loops on the i3. Its kinda fun that you call the i3 a small city car, its really not small, small is a smart at 270 cm ( I love the smart 453, but i am actually in the process of switching to an i3 Rex)
Not from the factory, but you can retrofit i3’s with an aftermarket module to enable Android Auto (and wireless Apple CarPlay) even if yours didn’t come with it originally.
This was the buyers guide. The review is over and should provide what you are looking for ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vnlt0hocUMc.html
What a painful experience trying to charge up the car. I notice you have yet to test a Tesla and friend, you don't know what you've been missing. As they say, just get a Tesla!
You cannot open the rear door without first opening the front. In this situation the back passengers are in a similar circumstance as those in a 2-door car.
@@MichaelDrivesOfficial ok, that's what I thought. Not great to have the doors there but be unable to open them and die burnt inside the car if ever fire happens.
@@officerockstar I don't see how it's ridiculous. It's the same for a two-door coupe as you just pointed out. Do you even know what ridiculous means ? You must have a lot of ridiculous things in your life if you find this ridiculous. It's just common sense that having no door to get out is a risk. Did I somehow break your ego with my comment ?
@@johngonon1507 I’m not sure how my ego would have been broken from a comment on a video to which I have no connection. With your seemingly high level of anxiety are you able to enjoy any activities outside of the house? For example, are you able to enjoy driving in any vehicle? Your comment about the function of the rear doors on this vehicle on this persons video is what makes it ridiculous. If you had made such a comment to an official BMW channel it would be slightly less ridiculous. My reply to you is ridiculous because I caved and decided to engage with such a ridiculous comment.
nice to see that some people are still happy with this amazing car! There is one more interesting option: Adaptive led lights, and an optional heat pump. (at least in Europe). It's a very much under valued EV, with an amazing low battery degradation.
I’m fascinated by it! Here in the U.S., the LEDs are adaptive beginning I believe with the 2019 MY and only automatically level due to our archaic laws at the time. All full BEV i3 models in the U.S. have a heat pump as standard equipment.
@MichaelDrivesOfficial not even sure man, pretty sure you said it before the test drive when you were talking about the car that you got to test came equipped with snow tires and then you mentioned it doesn't come that way from the dealer and actually comes with all season tires
Interesting to see that there are different leather colors available in different countries... The nice brown leather in this one is not available in Germany, unfortunately. 😕 So I ordered the leather in light brown, because I wanted the combination with the dark roof lining. Somehow strange that a car this pricy does offer so few possibilities of individualization... anyway looking forward to get it by end of 2024.
Hey, nice review. Do you have the option to turn off regenerative braking and not use one pedal driving? I really hate that other EVs force that for everyone.
Do you know much power that the V2L provide on the Niro? I know the 3.6kW spec is for Europe, not North America, and that the value is 1.9kW for the Ioniq 5 and EV6. I was told the Niro EV is less, but I can't find information about that anywhere.
Love the dark blue with birch interior. Lexus has a real class leading winner here. The price isn't going to scare away the Lexus fan, that's for sure. In fact, that rough 4-banger in the lesser models might just keep this PHEV scarce on dealer lots.
Nice review, kind of refreshing to see a small electric car. You have the first 500e coming out in 1997 and that seemed a bit early to me. I looked it up and from what I can tell it came out in 2013.
Thanks for watching! First 500e was definitely at 2013 model in the U.S. What time stamp did I say/infer it was 1997? I could possibly correct that with some text overlaid on the video.
@@MichaelDrivesOfficial 23 seconds. My suggestion is to get your hands on an 2025 Ioniq 5 Limited when it comes out as I think there will be huge interest in it. It’s a very exciting refresh for those who are interested in the car.
@@Molishious I totally goofed, thank you for catching. I intended that to read “2017 500e” (which was the MY of that orange one). I added a blur over the text and it will take a few hours to take effect. I’ll absolutely be requesting a 2025 Ioniq 5 to review when it’s available in the fleet in my area. Stay tuned!
I take the parking brake as a positive much rather mania over electric brake any day … mechanical will likely never fail electronics can have their issues
