Hi! I'm Scott. I'm an automotive enthusiast who loves to spend time modding and wrenching on my 1999 C5 Corvette FRC and 2017 C7 Corvette Grand Sport in my garage.
I created this channel to share my passion for cars and Corvettes with other automotive (and Corvette) enthusiasts. I do this by filming myself working on my C5 and C7 Corvettes. I have used K&N filters for decades. I clean and re-oil them on a pretty aggressive schedule, but that is me. I have never had an issue with a MAF sensor because I actually followed the instructions and do not believe that more of something is better. The engineers who designed these products know more than I do so I defer to their wisdom. It works every time. I have never had an issue related to wear either. My understanding is the vibration of the engine optimizes the filtering of these filters.
I got the AWE touring installed this past weekend, sounds fantastic! I do have a question, there is drone in the V4 mode, wondering if there is a way to keep it out of V4 mode.. Z mode doesn't keep it out of V4 mode as well.. otherwise this exhaust is the best i've heard!!
What up Scott, I gotta question, and I need an answer ASAP... Would a 2" Kooks Header match up with the AWE Xpipe. I've been told i NOW have to buy the actual Kooks Xpipe. Is there a way around this, Or am I gonna have to buy another Xpipe??? I don't wanna buy twice what I already have, Help me out Bruh...🫡
I think will probably need to get the matching xpipe. If you haven’t already, I would reach out to Kooks. BTW…there’s value in that AWE xpipe if it’s w/o cats.
Great, informative video - well done! I’ve had my 2017 Z06 for about 3 months now so I’m still playing with my gauge preferences, so this was good. I tend to default to the Sport setting with the center speedometer, but like to play around with the settings.
Any drone? I have the borla X-pipe. By far the best mod I’ve done. I could feel the better throttle response and power gain over stock. I think that’s where most of the power gain would come from between the x-pipe and axel back. I’m just curious how it will be paired with the AWE touring axel back for drone? Looking for a bit more sound but not too crazy…
No drone on the touring. The track does drone tho. It’s been several years and I have both. Haven’t put the track back on because the touring sounds so good and does not drone.
No slip lock additive? If you reverse and hear clunking. It's just the clutch packs. Change your diff oil. (these cars are gettin 20 years old, change all fluids) Also Once the differential fluid has been changed, the vehicle must be driven in 8-10 tight figure eight maneuvers to heat the fluid and allow the fluid to be worked into the clutch plates.
One of the best reviews on the AWE exhaust. I already have it on my Camaro ZL1!! I will be putting the AWE on my new eray!!!🎉. P.S - I totally agree on the chrome tips vs black. The chrome tips make a statement and tastefully stand out!!!
Nice video - I’ve got a C7 Z06 I just bought and am looking to add an x-pipe. Keep up the good work, and I love that you include your daughter in the video - raising her up right!
I know this is 4 years old, but it sure helped today. Before applying the power of persuasion, hammer, to the back of the pad, I thought it was best to consult the internet! On my first rear brake I had put the pad with the “squealer” on, on the inside and it wasn’t going in smoothly…Thank You for the video, it saved me from making a dumb mistake!
I’ve been debating on what brand exhaust to get after watching one of your other videos a week ago with your daughter installing that X pipe in the touring exhaust I like it so much. I immediately ordered that system. Can’t wait to put it on. Your videos are great. Look forward to seeing more.

I used a right angle drill attachment to drill the holes and drove it up on small ramps , I did jack up the back to take off the rear wheels to get the front fender arch skirts on. Didn’t have enough screws included for the holes in the skirts/spoilers but otherwise a smooth install
You have a great platform for modifications and you will love everyone of them; however, saving money in buying a Grand Sport over a Z06 to have money to modify it is only part of the picture. It takes quite a few mods to equal the Z06's performance, but the difference will come when you sell it, a pristine stock Z06 will draw more money than a modified Grand Sport of equal performance.
