I’ve chased Tarpon up north land based, they are such a cool fish. Just bought a kayak so looking forward to chasing a few around the Goldie/SEQ. Any suggestions on what tide seems to fire them up?
Awesome sesh mate. Tarps are the best fun fish to catch on light gear. The zman i got that tarp at wello has been regularly used over 18months and still going strong!
Never landed a Tarpon. Hooked a few in the fresh / brackish chasing bass on surface but spat the hooks. You did well to score a mid-week day at down there and some hungry fish. Weekends are hectic with the ski-boats and the jet-skis churning it into a frothing cauldron.
You may, it’s a 2012 hobie revo 13…just the standard mirage drive. I chose this model mostly due to being light and more capable offshore than an outback or pro angler.
