Eric Tremblay has been releasing mountain adventure content from the Canadian Rockies every week since March 2020. We focus on anything related on the outdoors which could be hiking vlogs, hiking trail reviews, campground reviews, backpacking trails, backcountry campsites and anything related to spending time in the mountains. Our content has broadened over the years and we now offer customized and personal videography for corporations, private clients & government agencies.
@@bartveen6038 thank you, we have so many hike idea videos at this point it’s insane! We even just finished reviewing every campground in Banff & Jasper after 16 months. Keep rolling & making videos of all the parks! 😂✌️
This next August we Will go to Jasper, Yoho and Banff NP and your videos have helped us to take better decitions ! Bow Lake will become s MUST DO in our trip.❤
Glad I can help! We did another video getting really close to the falls (I got very wet!) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ys5ys0ct3Ok.htmlsi=ofNKVyVwNvP581rw
I was there summer of '62, age 13. Surfer Joe was a big hit! I had a big crush on Cynthia Shuey, the owner's daughter. lol we were pen pals for a while. They spent their winters in Fla. Memoreez.. 😃
@@MiamiTee also I think there’s a lot of bloggers than make videos of places they visit for a week & don’t actually know much about the places they go to. This is +5 years of visiting these areas weekly.
@@robertmic8601 just released a video last Sunday about Protection Mountain which is on the same road. We also have every camp in Jasper & Banff on video! ✌️
@@cliffordbaker1323 2km/h for a slow hiker, 3km/h for average & 4km/h for fast. Time is not something anyone can answer but yourself. You’re looking at a 8 to 9 km hike. Definitely worth the time! ✌️
I think it Rampart is more popular than you may think...we used to go there on our motorbikes year after year and it was first come first serve...now you have to reserve and believe me, it is not easy to get a spot now. The secret is out! Beautiful campground!
@@joesandiehillairet8529 this change was recent because I was confused while recording this in 2023. Maybe having reservations will allow people to fill it up more consistently. Backup plan from here can always be Thompson Creek PRA.
@@EricTremblayAdventures It has been several years now that it has been reservable - if you are familiar with the wolf attack that happened in site 32 - whatever year that happened, I think it may have been that year - as I found out it was reservable too late to get a spot - we had camped there for ten years and never had a problem getting one - now - managed to get I think it was site 45 right on the river every time - it's a different story now. It is my favourite campground so far...but not for everyone given it has no cell service and no hook ups etc. Parks tells you that only site 30 can accommodate a 32 foot trailer - yet that is probably the hardest spot to get into. Anyway - your video was lovey, we enjoyed it.
@@joesandiehillairet8529 Oh I think I'm getting confused with Silverhorn camp, there's two that switched to reservation last year. thanks again. try my best to make content that will be useful for years to come for anyone visiting this awesome area.
@@michaelfewkes5271 for the most part bears don’t want anything to do with you. keep your food outside your tent! Were the views of the lake as nice back then?
@@EricTremblayAdventures The views were stunning as they look now. Arrived with friends who were sleeping in their van and me with my little tent. I remember walking to that lake view point to find a couple of guys chatting. One stood in the water fishing. Still remember the conversation they were having like it was yesterday. “Not too many people here” ….nope, a lot took off first thing, we had a BEAR around last night….look, had a dump right there!” People screaming an shouting, BEAR bouncing on the back of a camper. Brushed passed our tent an girl friend went lock herself in the car. Soon as the BEAR moved away we got to the phone and called the rangers…they arrived about midnight with a BEAR cage! They searched for 2-3 hours but never found him” …..and there began my sleepless night 🤣🤣🤣
I remember having a panic attack on Sentinel Pass. I have a strong fear of heights, and the narrow, shale-like path, flanked by what seemed to be a sheer drop to the side was more than I could take. I made it up two-thirds before turning back. I remember feeling so defeated by my fear of heights. Fortunately, the pass is at the end of the trail, so I didn't miss out on the main beauty of the trail. As for the Larches....I was there in the third week of September, so I missed their full "bloom." They look amazing in your video.
@@dontbeadrone thank you, it’s a great hike for sure. I would have never considered it could be frightening but over time your fear of heights gets diminished with each year hiking!
@@EricTremblayAdventures Let's hope! I don't want it to prevent me from future blessings from hiking. I actually want to do the Skyline Trail at Jasper National Park, someday. I wouldn't want to miss that over my phobia.
@@leahpar4509 in the RV park, the entire campground is just a parking lot. In the tent side, you park your car at your campsite unless you’re using the walk-in sites where you have a designated parking spot relatively close to your campsite.
Ive only had one issue with bugs in the mountains & that was Tonquin Valley. I don’t even carry bug spray & it’s never a problem. You have a city sized icefield beside the campground, there’s probably never bugs there to be honest.
Thanks Eric! This is exactly the info I was looking for and gave me a great idea what to expect . Thought I would be bored spending two nights there , but I don't think that will be the case . Great video
Did you go around the shore of Luellen Lake . Just wondering if its all shallow shore or does it get deeper?. trying to decide if I should bring my fly rod or my spinner . Thanks for the great video!
You can around most of the lake if you want to. I made a hiking video that shows the entire lake in more detail. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DSoHF9T295I.htmlsi=EXGSjPSmYj-8pAfw
It’s not a road so you won’t find it in Google maps. Rocky to Nordegg Trail (Saunders PRA West) on AllTrails www.alltrails.com/explore/map/rocky-to-nordegg-trail-saunders-pra-west-88ed1c0?p=-1&sh=dzshi2
You can do a solid 30km from Nordegg to the Saunders Rec area @ the bridge. You can likely go further, as this trail has been used by riders way before being turned into an official trail
there's outhouses at both campgrounds, they're both visible & mentioned in the video. At the Icefields Centre, you will find regular washrooms but they're likely closed after the tour services are done for the day. So likely 5pm, the opening hours of that site would be on google or on their website
Thank you so much for these videos! We're visiting banff & jasper for the first time this summer for 13 nights. Your videos are the BEST we've seen! We've compiled a notebook of places to see we never would have known about. Thanks again!!
You're only paying for the view here. I camped here because I was absolutely desperate to find a place to crash for the night. zero privacy, bathrooms were absolutely disgusting (mud, old bandaids on the floor), the area for motorhomes to park is nothing more than a gravel parking lot, which they should be ashamed of charging so much for. But! it is open year round. I grabbed a tent site and camped in my van. Tried talking to my neighbors across from me as there was no privacy I wanted to introduce myself and say hello. they reacted like I was a serial killer or something and avoided me entirely. I'm a super friendly person and this kind of disturbed me. maybe they just weren't used to camping. either way, I left this place probably more tired than when I pulled in. Would not suggest it.
It’s right on the border of it working or not. I think you’ll be fine for voice & text, but you can probably forget about using any sort of social media. Sometimes just getting a weather update is a pain.
These hikes don’t get any easier. The trail system is heavily used & maintained. You barely even need a map, the only difficult things you can do here is scrambling to pass & summits. Trails like Opal Peak is more difficult as you don’t have distinct trails leading up to the summits.
Another excellent video. With all that beauty you must be spoilt for choice where to make videos. Do you encounter any bears or wolves when hiking? Thanks for sharing.
I’m getting busier and busier, the hiking videos are the least popular on my channel so I do a lot less. But you’re right I have infinite choices on places to go. I’ve come across a wolf only once in Jasper & I’ve come across bears on the trails like 3 or 4 times.
Depends on how fast you are, nobody can answer that question but yourself. It’s about 3km. You can do it in 30 mins or 2 hours… average is somewhere in between! ✌️
I have a question regarding the kayaks. When you pull over to the shore and get out and want to go for a hike. How do you ensure your kayak doesn't get taken by someone else.
Usually we're in fairly remote areas, nobody is really roaming around the shorelines looking for things to steal. In this video, we were never far from our kayaks. If so then you could chain them up with a lock if you wanted to.
The campground has been repaired & reopened. I need to go back to showcase that. I also love the waterfall, it’s rare to find a waterfall easily accessible to the bottom and the top.
One year at Mosquitoe Creek, on a misty evening someone had a fire going in the shelter. People had gathered to be dry and warm. There were people from around the world chatting about their adventures in Banff. It was a great evening.
Thank you! We have all the campgrounds in Banff & Jasper done, we’re redoing the one in Lake Louise & we have 8 more campgrounds recorded just this past week. Check out the cabin videos as well, great ideas to enjoy the mountains
Reservation.pc.gc.ca Those sites are usually all sold out within the first hour of opening back in January / February, it’s the most popular camping spot in Jasper. I would plan for 2025.
