Hello, and welcome to Working Memories! I created this channel as an outlet to spread love and awareness of the many niche interests/obsessions that I have. I'm hoping to drum up excitement for the things that move me in the hopes of inspiring others.
Some facts about me: ✅I’m neurodivergent ✅My pronouns are: he/him/his ✅I'm a music & tech enthusiast ✅My hobbies include: graphic design, music, writing, music and video production ✅The phrase "Jack of all trades, master of none" couldn't be more of an apt description
The first season was really good. The second season kind of lost momentum. The one problem I had with the show is they jump through a time portal, and a terminators bare metal head gets cut off by it and ends up going along with them. The first season they had an idea and went with it. The second season you could see an idea but then they kind of got lost trying to make it into a complete season. Evil did that in season 1. It starts with a good idea and story. It basically goes nowhere in the middle, and then it finds itself again in the last few. The middle episodes like Sarah Connor don't go anywhere. They're just there to make a full season.
I'm in a deep obsession with this film so thank you for doing these videos about it! I watched it alone in the cinema 3 times and just couldn't get enough.
I hated T2 because the actor portraying John Connor was THE most annoying character that I’ve ever seen in a movie. His presence ruined the movie for me. Every scene he was in was comparable to fingernails scraped down a chalkboard. The Sarah Connor Chrinicles is one of all time favorite series that ended way to soon. Luckily I have both seasons on dvd which I watch twice a year.
need some of that inter-dimensional cable, for one of the realities where the show wasn't cut after S2. where Firefly was aired in sequence, and with a consistent time slot, where Fox produced high quality sci fi content and profited from it.
I felt bad over the show going off on a cliff hanger so I took notes and wrote up a what if sceen play of my own with all the characters included in it.
I think I agree with a lot of what you said, but I also think Dark Fate is better than you said it was and is kind of underrated. I'm sorry, but I actually really enjoyed Dark Fate. The title is so lame, cheesy and generic, though. Still not as good as TSCC, though.
I think there was a slight mistake in the first episode of The Sarah Connor Cronicles. The FBI agent James Ellison states more than once that Sarah Connor murdered Miles Dyson. Reason being that she believed Dyson would invent ...., etc. Whereas we know that the authorities knew that Miles Dyson died sitting on the floor, and alone. I presume some of those swat team made it out of there, as they called a retreat. EDIT: Ah - that's sort of explained in the first episode.
EN The best film adaptation. 10+ out of 10. The only thing that needs to continue the Terminator franchise. Deep and multifaceted in meaning. Very emotional. This is action, drama, fantasy in one work. Cameron is an amazing character. Summer Glau is an amazing actress.
The terminator franchise has so much potential pity that poor views on TSCC resulted in it being canned. I still hold hope for a proper T3 directed by jimmy Cameron the technology is definitely there now ✌️
I never watched it when it first came out, but I recently found a station showing reruns and it is SO good. I really wish it would have lasted more seasons - and what a TERRIBLE cliffhanger!
No the first film doesn't create a new timeline the second on does. Its made clear multiple times that John Connor meets a young Kyle Reese knowing that he was supposed to go back in time and become his father. It was always supposed to happen like that. Skynet was always supposed to send the t 800 to kill Sarah, and Reese was always supposed to become his friends dad, its a paradox. Its also how John new that skynet sent a terminator after his mom and how he knew the exact time and place it would happen. Same thing when the T 1000 was sent to kill John, John knew it would happen and knew that he would need a reprogrammed t 800 to protect him because he lived it. Where a new timeline is created is this time around John Sarah Miles and the new T 800 destroy all the research before skynet is even created.
For me, TSCC had great potential as a TV series 3 or more. Those that thought better, released lame as$ed movies to follow which probably cost a darn sight more.
4:32 I don't think there's a second John Connor. I think it was a self-fulfilling prophecy time paradox. Skynet unknowingly created its arch-nemesis by causing the events that led to Reese traveling back in time and fathering John Connor.
Maybe? James’ time travel plot device was the notion of a wormhole if I’m not mistaken - things happening in the past altered the same timeline instead of creating new branches. Haven’t studied this obsession in a bit, so I’m a tad foggy.
I loved every minute of this - really great job. I love this film so much and am actually heartbroken that more facets of the story will never be told because of the box office results. I wish I could implore some billionaire to finance Luca for another film. I found most disturbing the description of compelling Dr. Klemperer to eat putrid morsels from the witches' plates before the ceremony takes place. Also...when the ceremony is happening, there is a baritone with long hair who is chanting and holding up a girl's hands...the first time I saw it, I thought it was a man, but I think it's the woman who keeps her hair up and is maybe in charge of the costumes? Is that who it is? Again, thank you for putting this together!
I disagree with you that Dark Fate was better than Genesys. While Genesys wasn't anywhere near the best, Dark Fart, err, I mean FATE, was complete trash and honestly pissed all over the entire franchise.
Nice job! I saw Possession (1981) for the first time just a few days ago and that reminded me of how enthralling Suspiria was (that would be a GREAT double feature). Thanks for the video. Going to look at the other one now.
According to rumours from the script writers,Neill Blomkamp movie was about the Sulaco ship drifting in space after the emergencypods were released. On the ship there were a xenomorph hidden in the lower basement of the spaceship. After fifty years they are detected by another ship bringing colonists to a new terraformed planet for humans. They send in two robots to investigate. They find traces of dna in the ships database, and clones Hicks,Ripley and Newt. But as clones they don't remember anything of the events that took place in the alien3 movie. When they arrive at the colonists destinyplanet, the xenomorph starts to lay eggs. Then all humans on the planets are attacked and a war breaks out.Ripley,Hicks and Newt manages to escape in a spaceship they find in a cave. It is a engineer spaceship that takes them to the engineers homeplanet called"Paradise".But when they have left the spaceship,a deacon crawls out and makes a cliffhanger for a followup movie 😀
My idea for an Alien5 movie is as follows: It takes place after alien4 and takes places on an earth in ruins. TheRipleyClone has transformed into an entity that is producing eggs, and a lot of humans are affected, and a war breaks out. They have to use a nuke on the swarms of xenomorphs and decidedes to travel to the planet where they think the xenomorphs orginate from. There they find there are multiple forms of xenomorphs. They manages to form a clone of a xenomorph that is able to communicate with them. And a peace is established. But as allways Weyland-Yutani has spies that want the xenomorph for their biological weapon program. And it is a surprice who the spy is. And that Weyland-Yutami has a lab on a spacestation not far from the xenomorph planet. Where they finds forms of xenomorphs that noone has seen before.
I never watched the show when it was on TV back in the day. I saw the entire series a couple of days ago and I cannot believe it got cancelled. It was pretty good. I wish the show had been continued in a book or comic like what happened to Terminator Salvation 2
I watch the show every year around the Holidays because it takes me to a place of good and well-written television. I'm glad you did this analysis because it brings joy that others see the series in such a positive light as you do. None of the later movies were as solid as this show. I did think that they canceled the show because of Salvation somehow and that would have been somewhat acceptable compared to "money". That's disappointing as f.
