Sending all the love from North Carolina ❤ I just found a really cool chalk profile portrait ( 1960s) of a younger man who's kind of mod looking and I'm OBSESSED with it!
Love the portrait of a rando idea, already have implemented it in my living room. Also loved the hidden intention tip, adds a very intimate, personal dimension to your design!
instant subscribe!!! holy shit your aesthetic is so perfect. hard agree with everything on your list. i'm currently looking for a cool vintage metal cabinet to use in my entryway for shoe storage 🤞🤞🤞
hmm, strange. and absolutely, i’m not a fan of the dots / links on the objects. like i’m not there to buy things, pinterest, i’m there live vicariously through people who have a reasonable amount of disposable income 😅
Very good Inso pics! I get frustrated by navigating Pinterest, but you're making me think I might try again. Also obsessed with big chunky furniture and am having to diy my own built in wall system/credenza (my main Facebook Marketplace search term) dt not living somewhere that I can even find stuff like that. The top is going to be travertine tile, laid end to end! I hope it works. I really like your videos and have watched most of them in the couple weeks or so I've been subscribed! The PNW is a place where the natural beauty and a combination of modernist, ranch, Japanese influences has produced a decent amount of good style. The best of it is very Sunset magazine from the 60s and 70s.
Oh, I love these types of videos where designers show us their own inspo and why certain pictures appeal to them specifically! But sidenote, I’m pretty sure that photo from your home inspo board that has the all-leather seating and the massive windows is AI-generated :/
glad you loved it ✨ and thanks for the insight! ai is getting scarily good lol 🫠 i think it’s still worth it to critique and / or find inspiration from, because ai is only creating from images that have already been created, and design is such a creative field that there’s things to learn everywhere
Loved hearing these judgements, hot takes all round. Would definitely be interested to hear where the more colourful design styles would fit (e.g. geometric, pastel princess, pop art, etc.)
I could listen to u rattle off character judgements based on our design choices for hours 🤣 you read my boho ass for dirt omg. Tho i AM doing the mental work to both heal my inner child and to avoid the too many woven baskets cliche ahaha, progress!!!
omg this was such a funny vid!! cottage core take was so true aaaahhhh, like been there done that, and then i thought that im a man and leaned to industrial and finally i went to therapy and found somewhat my own style based mostly on authentic mid century
Mid century modern isn't my interior design style, but I'd like to hear something about it!^.^ Some of the people who like this style want to appear "grown up" :D My thoughts...
Im cottagecore and am DEF reclaiming femininity. I work in construction so I spend most of my life being around men and hyper masculinity-I absolutely NEED a quaint little haven from all of that LOL
My house is mostly decorated in space age style. I would like you to include me in part two please! 😃 I am all for some free, interior design based psychoanalysis!
Medora, thanks so much for your content!! I'm a really young queer flat owner from moscow and i'm planing on renovating and designing this place for myself after living with my parents in a pretty "millenial grey" apartment. And your content really helps me have a better understanding of what i want from my future home <з
you’re welcome! i’m glad my videos have been helpful ✨ if you ever want personalized help with your flat, i’m going to start reviewing subscribers homes soon, whether it’s just advice or a whole virtual makeover, so if you want to be part of that, email me photos / videos / dimensions / budget / any other relevant information at medorakeadesign@gmail.com!
I think that for me it’s utility, I’ve always like to think about the flow of my daily life, and where certain piece of furniture would make the most sense, especially since I live in a tiny space and I don’t have the space to dedicate a different area to each of my home activities. For exemple my dinner table is also extra prep space for my kitchen, my office and where I do a lot of my hobbies (painting, sewing, video game on my computer). I also think about it when I buy furniture, like my kitchen chair are foldable because most of the time it’s only me and it’s freeing up some space for other things. The fact that I can access everything that I could need for where I would normally do the activity make my space feel custom to me, and therefore like home. Hope that makes sense. Love you’re channel by the way, wish you the best ☀️
Been watching from my THOW in Australia and loving your content. Decided to comment for the first time just to say I'm sorry for the loss of your friend in what was (probably) exceptionally hard circumstances ❤
My golden retriever and labradoodle make our house a home. They are also my chaos to calm balance, they stop my home from looking too contrived. Please medora, always tangent, it's the cherry on top for me~
Ok look, I love almost all of these and I get it, BUT. Hear me out. N.45 (only medium or high pile carpets in living rooms and bedrooms) is an absolutely not for me because I have pets and I am NOT cleaning those rugs constantly. They would look horrible even if I was. Also I wear slippers all year long so I don't mind the low pile nearly as much. Everyonbe coming into my home wears slippers too. I'll provide them if guests don't have/bring any, both for hygene and for safety reasons as I get critters inside fairly often, including scorpions, and no one wants to put their naked foot on one of those.
This is great, but as other's have mentioned, you really need a rasterized software for this, if you don't want to keep feeding adobe something like Afinity Designer is great. Although if you have Illustrator chances are you already have Photoshop. Just take the time and watch a couple of tutorials on it, you just need the basic. I think you could easily save a great deal of time with it as supposed to Illustrator
yeah i’ve got photoshop, i just don’t like it and i’m stubborn, so i avoid it at all costs. although i imagine if i actually learned how to use it, i might like it better lol 😅
Absolutely loved this - so satisfying! My one request - could you leave the example photos up for a little longer? I kept having to pause the video just to process them because they went by so fast.
