I seriously think that your potential with Illustrated City and your shot selection are unlimited. The intro and nature section felt at times spiritual. The story and interview were really good. The transition parts from scene to scene were really nice! Going through the whole city and visiting many places, checking out art and manga, eating food is honestly a dream tour. Some of the camera shots were truly amazing. I think that you would benefit from a writer who in cooperation with you checks out the story that you want to tell and helps you phrase and time certain aspects of the documentary a bit better. This all is fine tuning. The foundation and idea are great. I seriously believe that as soon as you gain more experience and a smoother flow of things that you can reach great heights with Illustrated City. Thank you for introducing this artist to us. And for making the effort and working hard. Well done, another great/interesting episode and looking forward to where your next journey takes us. 8 out 10 for me. P.S. I have been to the same museum in Kyoto. It was a nice and great experience. Kyoto is really one of my favourite cities in Japan.

You should come back to Newcastle but do an episode about night life. Go out to dinner, go to bars, go to a play, go see a band etc. I can "pop in" again if you need me to, but it'd be great to hear from another artist like Jordan Lucky or Sophia Flegg. October long weekend is usually where a bunch of art festivals fall, and it would be a great time to jump back down.

Artist recommendation! Even Amundsen, he is an amazing character designer and writes and draws his own fictional fantasy world. Located in Oslo! I think he would be a great fit for the show! He is also a part of superani I believe.
That shot of Jung Gi's art station, still standing the way he left it, frozen in time... tools still scattered around... undrank water bottle... work left unfinished. You're half expecting to see him walk in, sit down, and start drawing away like he used to do every day. It's absolutely heartbreaking. To say "we miss him" is an understatement. If it wasn't for him, I probably would have quit drawing all together. But, his hard work and dedication to his craft was so inspiring... I feel compelled to continue on my creative journey, not just for myself, but also in honor of him. Rest easy, Master Kim. We love you.✌️🖤

@@illustratedcity Yes, it surely did. I have a love-hate relationship with my hometown, but whenever it appears or gets mentioned in random places, it makes me happy.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Not just because I am impacted by Kim Jung Gi and the Superani artists but also because of how you filmed this episode. I really like your filming style and enjoy the things you make us see and experience. I think the only missing secret sauce is the commentary in between the main scenes of this mini doc. You have a great voice and it would make it much more interesting if you could tell us a viewers what you are seeing or experiencing. Kind of like an inner monologue. The editing is on point and the transitions with the illustrated city logo are just phenomenal. I really like the storytelling aspect of the visuals. I really think your commentary throughout the in between scenes would be a great addition and would up your views in a jiffy! All in all great video. I am subscribed and will watch the other episodes. 😁😁
Hi Klayton! I really appreciate your detailed review 😄. It means a lot! I'm definitely taking your feedback into account, especially regarding the commentary part. It is a common suggestion I've received. Initially, I wanted to let the artists take centre stage and guide us through the episodes, but I understand the need for more than just a soundtrack. I've already filmed the last two episodes of season 1, so I can't make any promises for now, but I'm considering implementing that change in the second season. Hope you'll stick around!
