Is it just for is it hard to understand this guy? And that's my word just as good so I don't know what the big deal is with this tool he's supposedly has supposed to be so great about it
The VFD on the lathe looks scary.. unfortunately VFDs have a nasty problem with frosting then fluting the bearings on a machine..as stray power builds up on the electric motor shaft being powered to about 70v then finds ground / earth thru the bearings a few dozen times per second of use..at 600 - 700hrs serious damage has happened and the bearings need replacement.. but simply adding a ground/ earth strap to the motor shaft giving a path not thru the bearings prevents this entirely.. the better option is to have a rotary phase converter that powers each machine.. usually a single rotary phase converter is used for the entire shop being a one man set up..Cheers..
@@agentcovert Thanks for your comment, i put 4 points of the lathe ( One Is the Dahlander motor) to the earth, from 2017 when i installed the VFD, no problems.( 7 years until now)

That's why I did something but not a lot during the lift! The weight is not 400 kg but around 300 kg as per the manual I found on the internet, still a good weight! I was very worried about the wheels, if they didn't hold up I had done everything for nothing and I would have to call my friends a second time! Oh yes, the wife came down to see if anyone was hurt, (🤭) luckily everything was fine 💪😂 You can see it from the expression on my wife's face, right? 😂 Now the path is downhill, I'm already working on the riser table for the magnetic table and on the inverter, because the motor is 380 volts 3 phas es! Oltre a imparare a lavorare con le macchine, a costruire motori a vapore, sto anche imparando la lingua italiana, quindi sto acquisendo vocabolario per parole tecniche che non si trovano nelle mie lezioni di italiano. Grazie per il doppio testo.

Ciao Silvano, felice di rivederti! Si guarda era un progetto nel cassetto da tempo, era diventato faticoso! Non ho contrappesi è fluida, piuttosto mi farebbe piacere se fosse più rigida, ma per quello mi sa che si può fare poco! Tu hai fatto qualcosa in tal senso?
Come avrai avuto modo di vedere, io ho motorizzato la Z da sopra e direttamente sulla vite testa e quindi mi è stato necessario mettere un contrappeso di circa 50kg circa corrispondente al peso della testa ( stesso principio dell'ascensore ) di conseguenza stessa energia impiegata in discesa e in risalita - ovviamente non porta benefici in termini di rigidità ma l'aumento dei peso complessivo contribuisce a smorzare le vibrazioni da lavoro Avevo pensato anche a renderla più rigida ma col tempo ho imparato ad usarla al meglio - per quello che è Ciao

Ciao Andrew, always super thanks for your comment: for the first time it's a video in which mechanics, electronics and reverse-engineering (3D printing) coexist, I tried to take advantage of everything I have available in my workshop to get to the bottom of it ; I chose the stepper motor only for the torque, which is really high, I know that it is a bit wasted to turn back and forth compared to the possibilities it offers in position control, but a 24 Volt DC motor would have been much more cumbersome! As I have written in the description, I went crazy trying to figure out how to reverse the motion...here's the part that made me waste the most time! 🤭

Grazie a te Bruno, sono impazzito con la lunghezza della cinghia, credo che ci sia qualcosa di strano nelle cinghie importate dalla Cina, 2 mm in più nella lunghezza sono poi invece 4-5 mm, ne ho provate(e acquistate) 4, non volevo usare un tendi cinghia! Riguardo invece alla dimensione, volevo provare la HD3, poi ho visto che forza fanno le GT2 della mia stampante 3D e ho pensato fosse abbastanza ed infatti è stato cosi 😀 Bello sarebbe averti come maestro Bruno 😀
@@ab-shop maestro è una parola grossa, sono solo un appassionato autodidatta di aeromodellismo e meccanica (professionalmente sono e vengo dalla sanità), in atto sto approfondendo il mondo dei controlli e di arduino per le macchine utensili, e quindi comincio a conoscere le potenzialità. Thanks, if you consider a cam built with a 3D printer you can easily reach 300 mm, therefore a 300 mm barrel; if you always have the cam made in plastic (because it makes no sense in steel if you don't make 100 barrels a day in series...) but with a CNC milling machine, you can easily reach 24 inches and even more, obviously it must have a larger lathe then mine: the limit is represented by the length of the lathe, with my lathe I reach a maximum of 150 mm; so, if you think about it, it's not really basic machining…

Hi and thanks for your comment: It a normal digital caliper that i modified to be installed on my tailstock: on my channel, if you search, you can find the video where i show how to make It, the only difficult thing it's the drilling operation, because It Is hardened steel!
Of course, if you have a divisor axis ( you can use a stepper motor to do this), It would be easier, but i don't have It and so i used the old machinist mode!
