Congratulations… ( on the baby not on the 02j mod 😂 ) Also when you swapped the shift tower do you have to swap the VW cap under the gearbox ? I have the 2.8L Vr6 from the mk3 and can’t find any info if it’s the same as the corrado gear box
Thanks man!! My transmission shop put the shift tower in for me, but as far as I know it's the same. I think the only transmission difference is the Corrado has a different ring and pinion which makes for shorter gearing.
The Corrado and MK3 02As are the same, except for the ring & pinion. Yes you have to change the bottom cap for the shifter. It has to match the 02J shift tower.
I remember this car, you bought it from my friend, do you still have the book? The car sat for a bit cos it went though numerous engines, axels, door handles and small stuff. It was hell of a car when it worked.
@@NoWayNick that's awesome! Yes I bought it from Chris who bought it from Zach, the original builder. I don't know about a book, but I do have a binder with all the car's receipts since brand new. I have also replaced all of those parts except for the engine lol. It's an amazing car with a cool local history!
Yo there’s a guy on Craigslist in Cincinnati selling this same car with a v6 turbo swap asking only 5k I wonder why so cheap? Car is in nice shape looks good but unsure of the mechanical aftermarket work done by him so it would be a roll of the dice but everything looks legit but for only 5k makes me question why so cheap cause the turbo work alone cost more then that properly done
What website did you use to learn to turbocharge the vr6? Idk if I should build that or build my 1.8t into a 2.0stroker I only want around 400-500hp street power nothing to crazy but that’s a lot for 2.0
Is this in the TT? I would do the 1.8t because a big turbo and tune will be a much better bang for the buck. VR6 turbo just requires a lot of custom parts and gets expensive.
My mom just moved down the street from the tail of dragon I have not been down there yet I’m in Cincinnati. I have a mk1 tt 225 want to build a vr6turbo into it. I have a cbr bike to ride too I want to come visit this I was just there a week ago and was to busy at Dollywood
I feel like they are comparable to Racelands. Definitely cheap and ride a little bouncy, but not awful if you aren't going super fast and don't mind the ride.
Nice!!! Love seeing the Corrado content again. Love it that you VR6 boys keep using G60 parts.... lol. Keep the AWESOME VW content coming bro!!! I found my old pictures of some of my cars. I think I'll put together a video soon.
Great video Matt! You'll love that polo shifter and tdi 5th gear. Hopefully you've got a dieselgeek or shop dap short shifter kit for it. Also, it was hard to tell, but was Frank wearing some orange racing Crocs in that video! If so, I've got to get some 😂
@@RadoMatt I ran the PRTSCAR with the 3.6 and hockey pucks with a little oem rubber mixed in. I never noticed any vibrations or any movement. Phenomenal setup.
Matt that things turbo’ed, you need the R32 transmission in there. They also make a gear lengthening kit that lets you go over over 200 miles an hour. Stock mounts for the win.
Yo man check out super charger innovations - the cogged set up for our vr’s is amazing. The quality , the customer service and of course the power difference man is spot on. Highly recommend
Was this a corrado door handle or a passat door handle? Mine broke and I can't find the corrado handle anywhere online. The passat is similar but I'm not sure if that's the one you replaced it with
@RadoMatt that's what I've been seeing in forums and stuff. I might make a video about it just so those that want to swap for the passat door handle can know what to do
That's a good point, but I'm not to worried about it because mine never sees weather. Turns out it was actually my heater core leaking😞 Thankfully I caught it before it got very bad.
