Great video: well moderated! Xatching up on the breathing hey?! Quick question: the Smith helmet with the honeycomb structure: does this also function as a line of defence against, yes, bees (!) and wasps 🐝 Not un-important when riding gravel/road during (high) summer. Asking for a(n allergic) friend…. 😅
If you're asking whether the holes are large enough to let bees and wasps easily pass through, we would say no. The Koroyd is truly about the same width of a straw and deep enough to where they would have to actually wiggle through or fly through perfectly straight to get to your head. We're not saying that it's impossible for that to happen, but we wouldn't worry about it.
I rode since 1990 26” definitely the 27.5 is better in many riding situations, and also better than 29 that don’t work well in single trails with switchbacks and other situations that require a nimble bike with quick acceleration and steering
Over £700 over the "normal" x2 Factory for something that will make 0 differance for 99% of riders, Fox are just money grabbing in a disgusting way plus the warranty for this is a joke
It would be great when covering women's specific brand there was some mention about how the frame feels for shorter riders as a lot of small frames (esp w 29 wheels) feel like poop if geo isnt adapted accordingly.
Had hayes stroker trails on my 08 mongoose canaan comp, got a 2017 genius now and the shimano deore xt brakes suck in comparison even with bigger rotors, looking to upgrade and go back to hayes
I absolutely love this video. Excellent pro grade quality reviews on most of the helmets we all end up narrowing down to. My only gripe as a female is that NO videos talk about the shells being dif sizes vs same and whats best for small heads. Im approx 52 cm and its just so hard to figure what will actually not be massive or loose or even bulky. I come from motorcycles and never liked modular helmets bc not tight enough.. i dont want to get a mtb helmet and end up with that issue or sizing issues etc
@@jensonusabicycles after a few years away from the sport I'm now coming back into mountain biking. Obviously heard of Stans re sealant etc but wasn't aware they made rims. As a bad set of wheels can make a big difference how a bike rides if I had to upgrade straight from the off it would possibly sway my decision if to buy a bike or not.
@@alanbussell7894 You'll be fine with these wheels. If they were some bottom of the barrel, base wheels from another vendor, we'd probably recommend an upgrade in short order but the Stan's will be fine. Welcome back!
Pretty wild how fast this thing can respond to input from the front wheel. Would definitely be interested to test this back to back with a regular shock on my megatower.
I own an older version of Live Valve. And its mostly a gimmick. I once forgot to turn it on. And only noticed it after the ride. Modern frames and shocks are already good at pedaling. PS. They say transfer info from a front sensor to a shock. But what if your front wheel doesn't hit that rock? Bikes are not going in a straight line all the time.
We disagree on the gimmick comment, especially two of us who are on long travel enduro bikes with Neo shocks. In fact, I am so impressed by the Neo DHX I am being loaned that I plan to purchase one outright. The Megatower V2 in this video is mine and the DHX2 mentioned early in this clip is what shock is usually on it. The Live Valve Neo DHX is a noticeable improvement over the tuned DHX2 (that has more adjustments) that I usually run. It is nice having a plush, long travel bike that automatically firms up to get rid of the loss of efficiency when sprinting while standing up. My bike carries momentum noticeably faster, doesn't slow up on punchy climbing sections nearly as badly, and still doesn't lose anything on descents.
@@PanaehaliTut one of the few times we've seen people reconsider their opinions... really refreshing to see! Thanks for the comment and taking the time to watch our video!
This was discussed with us at the press camp we were invited to and they mentioned these shocks actually almost being more of a benefit for e-bikes than regular bikes. Straight from the horses mouth: "On an eMTB, riders climb faster and spend more time seated, experiencing higher impacts on climbs. Opening the shock-when needed-absorbs more of that impact. OEMs can also tune shim stacks inside the Live Valve Neo shock to forego an e-bike’s stiff pedaling platform in favor of unrestrained descent performance. Live Valve Neo’s Firm mode creates its own pedaling platform."
Hey the only benefit from this is an automatic climb switch or lock out system, i dont need that on an ebike. You still need to dial your compresion knobs & rebound that’s what i m looking for a live valve that can handle rebound and HSC
Rockshox doesn't have HSR either, they never have... thier Flight Attendant system seems to work well for their athletes. If World Cup winners/champions like Richie Rude, Asa Vermette, Vali Holi, Jesse Melamed, Jack Moir, Troy Brosnan, and so many others can live without HSR, I think us mere mortals can too haha. Fox's reasoning for why it's a benefit for all you e-bikers out there: "On an eMTB, riders climb faster and spend more time seated, experiencing higher impacts on climbs.
Coming from dirt bikes I always am a bit bias seeing Renthal bars. Best bars for motocross bikes, It makes me feel at home seeing the logos on my mtb too 😂
Most MTB shoes have hardened toe boxes these days so take a look around and you'll easily find something that fits your needs! We're highly impressed with Fox's Union shoe line, can't go wrong if you go that route.
its called SHITmano not Shimano... im using SRAM X01 Eagle, not once ive been let down with it,SHITmano XT on the other hand...old,flimsy and weak,Clutch is useless
Unless I’m doing an XC race, I feel like I can’t run anything BUT the assegai front anymore. Grip for days on that tire, it feels amazing in most conditions!
I am ok with continental 5000 hard to install. When changing tube ok. On the trail, adding these MTB tires on the rims is a complete nightmare. I have been riding 18+ years on road, but on MTB forget it. Maxxis wins. I passed on continental MTB tires.
About time we got more wireless dropper competition... although I'm not sure the benefits outweigh the price premium... that said, the dentist build will be all the more blingy with KASHIMA!!!!
I'm the oddball non fan of GK. Slippy af on gravel. Maxxis Ramblrs or Pirelli Cint.s -- altho those Spec Pathfinders are pretty sweet and so are the Triggers
I like the deity stuff. I tried the pedals but they don’t hold. Now I just run Chromag Dagga and they are so far durable and stay creak free. I am waiting for the new shimano saint. Shimano does by far best stuff. No pretty but it does the work.
