I was really hoping doublecross would get a mention here I think its usage of only the small and medium health packs really affects the map's balance; the only health packs avaliable are a risky medium with a killfloor on each side in clear view of snipers, a small right outside of the centre where there's almost always a firefight, or two smalls that you'd need to loop through sewers into courtyard to get both to heal enough to continue the fight as a light class in the enemy backline That lack of ready healing means that your team simply fares better when you have support players providing utility, since that's the only reliable way to keep health on the map
the best feeling with this knife, soloing a multi engi nest. did this a few games ago, taking out a 3 engi nest solo, allowing the team to cap the payload cart with just seconds on the clock.
2fort is just beautiful, I never play it for trying to get better, I play it for pure fun because it’s just goofy, like it’s a lot less punishing for meme strategy like base jumper caber bullying snipers.
When I was new I saw ctf as a gamemode I recognized and when I pressed it it sent me to 2fort and It was the only map I knew and it felt good to play it
The only annoying thing to me on 2fort its that EVERY match there is atleast ONE single time an enemy engineer builds a succesful nest on your sewers until an ubered demo appears
I try to make a point to NOT build in the intel room. (Unless I am either trying to relax, or have Horrible Ping. Engie is good for Ping. ) I'm new, but I know it builds bad habits. and considering I use CtF to learn and practice the classes that Im not good at, Specifically BECAUSE the matches can take forever, and it lets me try new things without much of a time crunch.

I will religiously use the Overdose and you can't tell me to stop. It's good (however the Crossbow still overshadows it, but do I care? No.), and that movement speed buff while active is better than you think. Need to reposition? Overdose. Need to get away from a bad situation? Overdose. Faster rollout w/ vitasaw? Overdose. That damage penatlty is also just a joke. It's one less damage per syringe. That's it. You aren't going to be often using your Syringe Gun to defend yourself, and when you are, The Overdose's movement speed can make up for the damage penalty.
I think what a lot of people who complain about dying to w+m1 don’t realize is that they didn’t die to w+m1, they died to getting outmaneuvered and ambushed (most of the time)
Personally I come back to the map a lot because the player count is so high. I just stick with whatever match casual matchmaking throws me in, which is often 2fort
Give its healing ability a cooldown and it'll be fair. In fact, add a cooldown to any item that practices the flawed mechanic of collective punishment.
Should've mentioned spawning wallhacks. AKA the most blatant evidence that Valve developers hate spies. Edit: also, enemies who have Closed Captions turned on will always know when a Spy is decloaking nearby.
this video comforted me, enough to make me motivated enough to actually finish this game.. i still don't know why it seems so scary to me. like whenever i step foot in anywhere past like area 2 i have a deep primal urge to walk over to my mildly dented gamecube and remove the disc.
Just disable autobalance at a certain point towards the end of the match. Done. If it's a roll for the winning team at the end, SO WHAT? Better than being constantly autobalanced in the very last seconds, which is bound to happen because once the match is decided anyway, people will leave and cause an imbalance. No player in the world will ever turn the tides in the last few seconds.
To play Devil's Advocate here, what if that unclipped stair prop was intentional? I could see it being somewhat used as a buzzkiller for rocket-jumping soldiers to prevent them from getting to the front lines or behind enemy lines too quickly. In that case, I think it's alright the way it is.
I genuinely think it's a little overtuned, the standard revolver struggles to compare. It might be healthier for the game if they reduce the cloak duration buff of the l'etranger to +20% and just apply the other +20% to spy in general. Or otherwise just reduce the cloak duration buff to +20% and that's it. Really, the only reason the L'etranger isn't considered broken is because the diamondback is really stupid and the ambassador is still kind of a beast after the nerfs
