Hi , Its a Garmin Motorcycle Ram Mount which I , It comes with a handlebar mount , I removed the U bolt part of the bracket and bolted the other piece directly through the fairing panel with 2 large washers on the inside . www.raig.co.uk/garmin-monterra-montana-gps-motorcycle-mount-b9a4/
I have the same issue with my TA650, how are you finding the replacement ECU? I actually replaced my entire ECU kit with a replacement used one off ebay, i assumed it was then issue with wiring, but if i can get around it with this ECU then I might try that, wish i jnew about this sooner
As i understood its not too important to balance them at idle because thats not where you will spend most time, it's important to balance them at the most common riding RPM (4-5k) so the engine runs smooth then, not when you sit at idle at a trafic stop. even on the video when you give it revs you see one line going higher than the other, so they are still out of tune.
I have the Honda workshop manual (what the Honda mechinics use) for my Transalp and have followed what its says to do . set the idle to 1200 rpm - + 100 check and snap throttle checking when the idle settles . This may be different on different bikes but I am following Mr Hondas proceedures LOL
Doesnt matter how long his blinkers are on, still doesnt give him any right of way. In the UK , the highwaycode states ; Section 162 Before you overtake make sure that: (Road users are not beginning to overtake you,) And Section 167 Do Not overtake :(When you would force another road user to serve or slow down) @@epic_playzzzyt Plus rule 103 . Remember that signalling does not give you priority. Maybe in the USA things are different.
Hi mate! How many kilometers do you cover with a full tank? What do you suggest me doing? 1)Should I replace the exhaust headers or the exhaust pipe with lighter ones, without catalytic? 2) Should I replace the factory air filter with kn, dna, etc? 3) the right oil? Any other trick?
Your range in KM I have already answered that question but if your concerned they take a spare petrol can on your bike and run until empty then you will know for sure. 1) exhaust , I have a end can replacement (Fuel exhaust) which saves a bit of weight and changes the sound slightly thats about it . If you put a full system on then you may have to change the jets or adjust timing . 2) On the standard bike you can change the air filter with a K&N (or similar) makes a small difference. You should not have to mess with jets etc. 3) 10/40 semi synthetic Hope this helps
I'm building a custom from this model, is it true that gets power directly from the battery? and do they program the parameters directly from the factory or do you have to play around on the software? also does the engine run better compared to the original?@@LargeWayRound
The CDI unit uses an adaptor to connect directly to the Original CDI PLUG , you remove the old cdi unit and connect up the one plug and thats it. It is already programmed for the bike (you need to tell them our bike of course). They also send you some basic software so you can mess about with the programming of the unit . I havent touched the programming yet as the bike seems to run great without changing. The chap I emailed (Jiri) said he run a Transalp 650 with a unit attached. The reason I had to change as my old cdi had a intermittent fault with the HISS system and the Ignitech unit has no HISS system so it fixed the fault. The email is ignitech@ignitech.cz The unit is TCIP4 (154.55 EUR) with connector adapter (22.31 EUR) and the recommended adaptor USB cable (13.22 EUR) = 190.08 EUR PLUS DHL FREIGHT P.S. I have no affiliation with Ignitech
Hi , Its a older style Airhawk seat (large) , they have changed the shape now but the Airhawk Cruiser is about the correct dimensions . Its also the neoprene air bladder which can be repaired with tube repair kit if necessary . I have had the airhawk for about 10 years and 60,000 miles still going strong with just one repair
The T35 wont plane with 2 people on board? My Excel 335 with aluminium floor and Tohatsu 9.8hp 2 stroke, can plane (Just about) with 2 adults on board. I do like the Honwave T35 though.
I have been using a pair of the small rear bags for a few years. Still going strong and still waterproof. I just sold my Africa Twin (I had made alloy plates to suit the Lomo's) so don't have an "adventure" bike at the moment. I will however be getting another and the ones you presented will be purchased for that.
My goodness what a lovely video. Such a beautiful place and the stone cottage is lovely! Not sure if you had the transalp there but the boat looks fun. Have a quick question about your TAs break lamp. Is the tail always illuminated and then brighter when breaking or just lights up when breaking?
Hi Davide I had the truck on holiday so we could take all the boat stuff etc .. Depends on the age of your transalp , does it have a off/on light switch (does the headlight lamp come on automatically) if so.... The Transalp should have a running light when the ignition is switched on (and running) and gets brighter when you use either the foot brake or front hand brake. The bulb has 2 filaments and can burn out the running light . It is a common type of bulb which any garage supplies company or even fuel station will be able supply. To remove bulb you need to remove seat, grab bar and cover underneath. turn the bulb holder and remove (bulb attached to bulb holder) . You should see the filaments inside the bulb , also check the connector for corrosion incase its the connector www.manualslib.com/manual/1840827/Honda-Xl650v.html?page=116#manual
@@LargeWayRound thanks. Got a replacement this afternoon. 12v 5/21watt for my 2001 650 transalp. Will replace it tomorrow. Maybe I should make a video. :)
Greetings. Since you have both styles of Lomo panniers, which do you prefer and why? I have a Himalayan with factory mounts that I'm looking to outfit. Cheers! 🍻
Hi I don’t know what factory mounts for the himalayan are like as you would need some sort of support for any pannier. But i can recommend these new lomo large panniers they have better fixing points etc If you dont need the large , Lomo do a medium size that look identical Good luck
Thanks for that one! I’ve since put my tool kit together. I’m glad I could see what the originals were like. This has given me some other ideas about under seat storage. I have the same color Transalp and I’ve never been to Scotland!
