Idk everyone who seems to really like her are men who normally seem to think she's adorable, so I think that's what I might be missing as a woman, lol. I really dislike the voice though tbh it kinda sounds like a baby singing in cursive to me and I find it hard to work out the words which in most songs doesn't bother me at all but when I find her voice already annoying it does. I think it's surely for some people but honestly not really for me at all. Also I dont get why people say she's underrated when she's married to a crazy famous man and gets so much publicity and opportunity through that+other general stuff like so many big interviews, etc. I think her music clearly just isn't for most people, and that's fine.
@@hnexnuunixeunieuied888sd To be fair to her career, before she had even met Andy Samberg she had toured the world and played with major symphony orchestras performing her second album Ys. Totally understand how her music is not everyone's thing though, so not trying to convince you. But, your observation that "everyone who seems to really like her are men who normally seem to think she's adorable" doesn't reflect my experience of her fans at all, who seem to be largely women and gay men (with of course lots of other types of folks too). There's a feminist blog about her music called Blessing All the Birds written by women, and a podcast analyzing her music called A Hopeless Endeavor, also recorded by women. Finally, I find it interesting that her voice sounds like "baby singing" to a lot of people, because for me it is the most powerfully raw and brave voice I've heard; it fills my mind with images and feelings of cold clay, rushing water, tree bark, crackling fire and splitting boulders; it cuts me to the core to a degree that no other voice ever has. When I listen to her I feel like I am listening to Mother Earth herself singing. But if that's just me, that's okay.
