Yea the part numbers would be helpful if you have like vw ones. maybe I could cross reference. would like to have some better braking power in my Rabbit caddy.
The ones I posted in the video description are the manufacturers numbers, i guess they could not be found in a different website that doesn't offer the exact ones or cross reference other ones. It's been a while and I remember that it was a bit tricky to find the exact ones I wanted. What I could find in the VW code section after a quick look vented discs 171698471A calipers 321615301B 48mm piston seals 171615123 (also shows up as entire caliper) i hate part numbers :D pads 171615115A slide pin stuff 171698447 I'm not super familiar with the Rabbit brakes, but you could need to find the caliper bracket if you had the "small brakes" before. Every time i think I know most of the stuff about Mk1 brake options, I find something new about them
I ordered a brake rebuild kit from autofren as well but mine doesn't come with the plastic sleeves for the slide pins. Do I have like an updated version that doesn't need them because the original calipers had those installed.
I’m still confused about the types of slide pin boots. Never found out a definitive answer. Even information about greasing them was contradicting. I think newer calipers didn’t use the sleeves, and the rubber boots were tighter around the pins
don't think this could affect the turbo itself. Will pour some in my turbo golf next year. But for the future I will dilute the oil with diesel fuel at least 50:50. I think my pump started leaking from the added viscosity of 100% cooking oil
@@JunkVWs I think so. 50/50 is better way. I meet with a man. He had using used flower oil in golf 1.6 d. about 10 years He told me . Only filtering good with fine cloth and adding 20/1 gasoline for to reduce the viscosity of the oil
Que vídeo legal, sou do Brasil como muitos que estão comentando aqui, já tive 2 Santanas, atualmente tenho um Santana Evidence, é um ótimo carro, clássico, esse do vídeo merece ser recuperado.
Another scams video Cars sits outside and nothing gets seized or need replacement. No old fuel Seized brakes Broken or seized lines Plugs Nothing. Fake, scam video
Did You assume it's been there for 10, 20 years? how about you read the title. Seized brakes, now i know you didn't watch, it's in the video 🤦♂️ plugs, what about plugs, do you not know how glow plugs work? the warm when you turn the key and wait a bit. Fake, scam comment. Bye. hope to never see you again
If you don't want honest comments, don't post your videos, keep them to yourself. And you don't post just one video, I have watched a few. And all are similar. I do know how glow plugs work but it's still a plug, therefore they need changing, otherwise they would sit in a car forever. Yes, you won't hear from me again. Why would I ever waste my time on these fake videos again
Ok. I’m willing to have an honest conversation about every video. Ask any real question without accusing me and calling me names. It’s impossible to film everything but it irks me that someones first thought “FAKE FAKE you are dumb FaKe Fake”
Seriously ask a question. I’ll start with an easy spark plug, glow plug statement, why would anyone change a part that is working fine for the short time you need it to work
Bullshit video. 24 year, brakes don't seize Car isnt falling apart after being outside and it's a golf one...they rust even indoors Diesel, blow plugs dont even need warming after 24 years You too stupid to make a believable video
dude how about you chill out and relax. Feels like you make dumb assumptions before reading the title or watching the video. I don't want to spell out every single little thing in the video, but I will especially for you 😘 Why would it fall apart, do you know the climate here? Car was stored indoors (said in the video), brakes were seized, the reseller guy fought with them for 4 hours to get em moving. Diesel? what about diesel, fuel is old, glow plugs were warmed even in the video you didn't watch apparently You too stupid to make a descent comment (you get back what you give out)
Great Video! Thanx. I used to drive a 1977 VW PASSAT (rare automatic)apple Green outside and Brown Velours inside!🥰 Best light car with front wheel drive, especially in Winter!
We have VW Square Back that was given to us by Royal family when I was in Thailand back in 1970. It was beautiful VW and still in service until 1986 when the engine was brown out. We brought a new engine for about $2k and sold it in 1988 for $3K. I love VW made in Germany not the junk one that sold in US that is very expensive to repair and basically junk.
@@JunkVWs Yes, the US made using the components from cheap labor country such as Mexico, China, that majority does not passed inspections like W. Germany. The dimension and materials used are much lower grade. No "Con Bon" systems when assembly. Same as another parts like Battery, we have Bodendent brand that made in W. Germany and last for 90 months easily! I wish they sold this type of quality and workmanship to Thais Royal family!
