Ok so i just want people's opinion... no fighting... just what you think... if nastia had trained maybe a year earlier and came to these trials with a perfect bar routine and perfect beam routines and the olympic committee chose her... who do you think out of the other fierce five they would have kept home?
Price was virtually flawless. I really think she deserved to be on the team. Did she have two vaults that would have contended for an event medal? I really don't think I've ever seen a more well-balanced all-arounder. She put up big scores!! Her floor landings were sooo controlled.
i 100% believe nastia would’ve made the team if she had taken a year to get back into FITNESS shape and then got back into the gym for her routines, you can tell by the way she was swinging on bars that she had WAY more power and weight than she was ever used to having, her form as always was absolutely impeccable (besides the obvious error)
Nastia is so beautiful to watch even when she falls she flicks her toe up to a point!!! She’s the most graceful gymnast I’ve ever seen and I can’t take my eyes off her 😍!!! She definitely didn’t give herself enough time to prepare for these competitions. At least she had the heart to try , what a champion 👏🏼👑
Gabby was well known to be the biggest threat to Jordyn's supposed dominance - at least to the commentators, as well as to the gymnasts. Regarding the so-called controversy mentioned in this comment section of what Jordyn and Aly may have said, there is no possible way they could have been suprised that Gabby was going to become an Olympian. Gabby already won the American Cup 2012 when Jordyn and Aly were the official American gymnasts and Gabby was not listed on the scoreboard but was entered by Marta to compete as a third. The full broadcast is on RU-vid. Officially, Jordyn won, but Gabby's score was higher, and you better believe the commentators and Jordyn, Aly and Marta at a minimum knew. NBC focuses big time on name recognition which is why they were talking about Jordyn more as she was the 2011 world AA champion and 2012 US national champion. There were a number of girls competing whose names were never even mentioned by the commentators eg Kennedy Baker, Brenna Dowell. One can hear the arena announcer saying their names before their routines. Sarah Finnegan and Sabrina Vega did not get a mention on the second night. You will be happy to find out that they all had great NCAA careers! NBC does this "hyper-focus on approx 8 gymnasts (ignore the rest) and maximize the drama" for every trials. Feel free to check 2016 and 2021 not to mention 2000, 2004 and 2008. Not sure if there are earlier ones on RU-vid. Thank you very much for uploading! ❤
I think Jordyn acted cocky as if she deserved coming in first snd when she didn’t her true colors came out. Though i like Aly for her hard work, I can see her here being a bully with jordan or acting like those teen popular girls who just were on the pedestal. I think Aly became much more aware of her words and actions later. Gabby was an underdog but she deserved the 1st spot. I didn’t know why Kyla didn’t congratulate Gabby at the end just gave her the look but i think if there was a clique and bullying by the older girls, she perhaps wanted to stay neutral towards Gabby and not show her affection due to the bullying. She also grew up and was a beautiful and mature gymnast passed this and seemed to be a nice person outside the aly/jodryn domain. Aly on her own was also better but togeyger with jordyn and mykyla I could definitely see a clique happening that was not exactly inclusive of Gabby at that time. Also wish E.Price made tgat team and not as an alternate.
Jordan was a hater!! She couldn’t stand she lost to Gabby!! Ha ha hater. I remember this day and she was talking about Gabby to Aly at the end of the competition.

What happened to Jordyn between this meet and the actual Olympics? I heard she came to London already injured on her shin (?). EDIT: I just realized Maroney also came to London injured (toe). Was there an extra meet between the Olympic trials and the actual Olympics where these injuries occurred?
This is why not to talk to media! They laugh at you. She was trying to explain. I've seen girls burst in to tears when they get a dog. But now i don't feel bad for Elfie. Losing her job. She's laughed at enough gymnast. She will be missed. That's an exaggeration! I won't miss her.
