Looks like Capcom is using the same tactic as *Wizards of the Coast* use with the game *MAGIC ~The Gathering~*: In every new boxset WotC put a few OP cards to buff sales and a month later those OP cards are banned. So Capcom is releasing OP characters to buff sales and balance them later.
Tokido needs to get more goofy. He plays it so safe and textbook, defense just isn't as rewarding in this game and especially not against Gief. He seems too middle ground. Not wanting to hang back and chuck plasma, yet also not wanting to just get in there and mix them. Feels like if he will continue to play this way, Ryu might be a better fit.

Naw the #1 you can tell is looking at his inputs. There's no button mashing at all. Even pros button mash once in a while (waiting for strings or super cut scenes to end, and some small button smashing when executing combos).
