The anime has some dope sakuga moments, Harley Quinn looks good and that ED of Amanda Walller dancing was wild. But yeah, this Suicide Squad Anime is underwhelming. That's what happens when you mix it with Generic Isekai Tropes.
I remember as a Teen I ADORED Last Exile, it was what I needed at the time, an instant favourite of mine. Then I saw silver wing and I DETESTED IT, only anime I really viscerally hated, and saw completely. I should give it a second chance with a more mature approach, now that I listened to your points about the story.
I thought it was a good show with an interesting premise. The characters are interesting and the progression of the show and the two main characters kept me engaged. The fact that they don't spend time explaining a lot of what goes on with the show is a strong point considering it was really a one season show. Something that I found interesting is that if you look deeper into their depiction of reincarnation, it is quite depressing. You die and are given a choice, get sent to the "void" or get sent back to Earth for another go around hoping you don't get a bad deal. In the end it is really just a choice between getting sent down to hell or sent up to hell, which direction would you prefer?
Here we go another forced hate video on this show just to gain views. The story, animation, comedy, action scenes, plot twists, soundtrack, voice acting everything is really good. People are being harsh towards this one. Negativity sells I guess
I really like this series because it's smart, funny and beautifully animated, but like you said: I can't recommend it to anyone. When I was younger, I could tolerate the fanservice just fine because even as a female anime watcher, I just expected it. But now that I'm older, it honestly feels like a dirty secret that I like it and a lot of scenes gross me out. I obviously don't want to recommend it to any of my female friends since none of us what to watch little girls being touched. Plus at my age, if the male friends told me they liked the fanservice, I don't think I could stop myself from being a bit creeped out. That's not even mentioning the JP wordplay and quick flashes of text on screen that I cannot ignore and MUST pause to read every time lol. Not sure if anyone else is as intense about not missing anything as me, but sometimes I feel like I'm watching the show frame by frame. Most people I know watch anime to zone out and watch something cool/flashy after work and this show is just not conducive to that at all. That all said, I'm still excited to watch the Off & Monster season (internally cringing at the expected fanservice but I'll push through). I can't wait to see Ononoki and Ougi again! 🥰
I saw the first 2 episodes expecting some cool animation and maybe some obscure deepcut silver age character that only appeared in 1 issue in the 60s but I got the most dull and inoffensive thing I have seen in a long time. Also fuck washed up colors and filters to make everything super shiny that every modern anime seems to use for some godforsaken reason
Don’t you hate it when you find a promising new fantasy story, only for the main character to say “oh btw i have memories of my past life as a japanese salaryman teehee”? Well, it’s not as bad as LITRPG tropes. We have been deprived of good fantasy stories for a decade now because everyone wants to cash in on the isekai trend. Hopefully the giants that were Dungeon Meshi and Frieren will put more attention into the marketability of conventional fantasy.
That's a shame. I was looking forward to a lot of Peacemaker in fantasy land shenanigans (he was very fun in the second live action movie! I recommend it!), but that's not going to carry a scattered plot without a proper direction
4:37 nah, I don't. The DC villains overstayed their welcome for over a decade now, especially Harley Queen. They can vanish back into obscurity or be cannon fodder for batman, or joker's pet for all I care. I watch nothing that includes those characters, live action or animated. I watched some of this because I figured "Japanese writers maybe?" but it's not that. The writing is obviously western, bland, and devoid of all soul or any substance.
It was boring, man. I struggled to finish 2 episodes and then dropped it. The animation is good, I just don't care about the characters or story at all. Rwby x justice league was better. Totally pointless, yet still better.

@@CulturedCrusader The collab has nothing to do with the rwby series as a whole. It's a "what if" type of story. But if I had to put it somewhere in the rwby time line, I'd say it's after Yang gets accustomed to her robot arm, but before the events in Atlas. It features a good guy, boy scout superman (so the real superman), and a Diana that acts as a lady instead of a bitch (so the real Diana), which is why I liked it. But as story goes, very very mediocre.
DC has only been shitting the bed for the last couple years. 2021-2024). During the 2010's, DC had a lot of good shows coming out like Batman The Brave and the Bold, first two seasons of Young Justice, Green Lantern TAS, Beware The Batman, Justice League Action and DC Superhero Girls 2019. Sure you might not have liked Teen Titans Go and Harley Quinn Show, but there were a lot of good to choose from. Marvel on the other hand had a 12 year gap of cartoons that were mediocre to trash post Avengers Earth's Mightest Heroes ended in 2012 up until their first decent hit Xmen 97 which came out 2024.
The show is terrible and i'm glad it's behind an HBOMAX paywall. The money they wasted on this piece of crap could have made like 6 seasons of Harley Quinn and Close Enough.
Yeah it was Mid, however Harley quinns hot and i enjoyed clayface and Peacemakers sub voice actors. i went into it with no expectations so id give it a solid 6/10. also helps im an absolute sucker for isekai LMAO
