Welcome to Triangle 26! On this channel you can expect to find a diverse range of firearm related content, with a particular emphasis on historic military arms.
It's fine for you to call them pre-production rifles but in poor countries like China and Russia they dont let anything go to waste so they all got used or sold. The first guns were made under Russian training and oversight.
Two comments: 1) 04:02 - Excellent catch & subsequent positive ID of the carbines in question! Sadly, there seem to be fewer & fewer people in our culture (The late, great James Yeager of Tactical Response once - accurately, IMO - opined on the definitions & difference between 'gun community' & 'gun culture', w/ strong preference for the later term) who seem to place much importance on accuracy in ID, nomenclature, designation, et al. I've considered it such a crying shame, that when somebody comes along who gives a shit, I take notice - THANK YOU. 2) Your entire opening is eloquently expressed, subtle but not-so-subtle notice of the true focus - personal feelings aside...which we all know can be terribly difficult, especially w/ re: to this given subject... One I find far too often to be narrated sadly not by experts, or those first-hand witnesses, but by those who first & foremost seek to push a political end or engage in the dreaded "virtue signalling" most people can immediately see right through. Your channel was suggested by YT, & I'm glad it did... 'The algorithm' finally works in my favor, for a change. Subbed - you easily earned it.
Great piece with tons of history. Weird spin on the early history of the Jewish State though... we've seen the Islamic State run the same playbook in our lifetimes, with terrorists from all over the globe flocking to steal land in Iraq and Syria. You can't come from Poland (as Mielkowski's own family did) and "declare independence" in Palestine any more than you can come from Canada to "declare independence" in Northern Iraq.
Thanks dude just got Chinese Sks from my pops and I been trying to figure out the date turns out mine was made in 1991 just one year older than me and has production number great than 04000<
By the period of time this rifles were manufactured, they would be issued to the “public security forces”, not public security (Chinese police). Public security forces are a police/military organization under the command of PLA not the ministry of public security, only in 1987 it was renamed “people’s armed police” and was put under the ministry of public security to separate the roll of police and military in attempt to modernize Chinese police force.
I just recently got my ptr 9C for $1120 directly from ptr with a discount code so their prices may be coming down as well. Came with 2 metal mags (I believe ptr made no markings on the mag) 1 point sling and a pelican type carry case. adding the welded pic rail and mlok handguard I think it really contends for the best value clone on the market especially on the American side
@@Vincent-sc7qg Thanks for sharing - that’s a terrific deal. I’d love to see PTR permanently drop their prices and chip away MKE’s market share. The AP5 is great, but in a head to head fight I’m rooting for the U.S. company every time.
I HAVE THIS SAME RIFLE LOL BUT I ADDED A TIMNEY 3LB CAUSE IM CRAZY BUT YOUR RIGHT THE WEIGHT AND THE M21 ON THE GOOSENECK CREATES SOMETHING REALLY NICE!
@@hia5235 I’d encourage you to look up the definition of “rebranded”. Israel has no interest in the brand of M16 or M4 type firearms, they defer to American military designations. They have however *reconfigured* American AR parts into forms that have never existed within the US, which is the subject of this video.
I’ve had an M21 0296 SKS with the Bakelite upper handguard since 2016 and I absolutely adore it. The craftsmanship is immaculate, and it was completely full of cosmoline when he’d gotten it for me and all part serials match. My dad didn’t realize how rare they are until he’d bought me one as a gift for my 17th birthday for $500 or so. It was my first rifle.
I bought the PTR 9R because California... Had an issue out of the box with not accepting magazines, bolt open. Sent back to PTR, experience was average. After getting it back it has become my absolute favorite! Great option and has the pic rail and Mlok handguard stock. Would recommend!
@@CaliforniaDecline Excellent - I’m glad to hear they took care of you and you ended up with a good gun. I’ve never owned a 9mm PTR, but I had 2 .308s and they were both flawless over time the time that I owned them.
I can forgive tolerance issues for the wood, but that rib was definitely machined off center. A sloppy set up in the jig that should have never passed QC.
The RO653 was a commercial product with a 14.5” barrel. Colt did make a 16” version of the same rifle, however that was given model designation R6420. The 733 has many other differences from the 653 in addition to barrel length. The most obvious being that the 733 has an A2 upper receiver, and is therefore a shortened version of the 723. There were 11.5” barreled A1 carbines, those would be the 629 and 630.
Thank you for an amazing video! I only recently learned of the reverse stretch K model, but now I'm thinking an MKE full size may be more appropriate. Looking forward to the rest of this series. Thanks again.
My next door neighbor was a door gunner in Vietnam. His Huey took fire from the ground on a mission. He spotted the shooter and dispatched the threat. My neighbor asked the pilot if he would land near the body to take the SKS off the field. His wish was granted. He brought the SKS home. He is not deceased and the SKS now resides with his son.
I’ve never heard that critique before - nor for that matter do I know what a “floppy” bolt is. The SKS uses a tilting bolt, which is a very strong and reliable locking system. Also used by the FAL and the STG 44.
@@pplebite8844 I have not unfortunately - however on paper that also seems like a great use. Particularly because you can go even shorter on the barrel.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I’d love to rant about Mk18’s at some point, that sounds fun. Long story short - I think the Army nailed it (for once) with the URG-I program, and the 11.5” version specifically does everything the Mk18 did - but with significantly fewer compromises.
Great video man! I love my Wolverine on my SLR107UR SBR it’s perfect but always wanted to buy what I would need to try it on a 556 AR and this is what’s gonna make me try it. Appreciate you 🙏🏻
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment - I appreciate that. A 107UR also seems like an excellent host. The Draco was cool, but ~12” still struck me as a touch long. An 8.5” barrel with Bulgarian build quality seems like a winning combination.
