In 2016 my wife and I decided to invest in our research (aquaponics, anaerobic digester, solar, and wind power) of over 5 years and start to build the first prototype of a self sustainable, arduino automated, agriculture system that will provide food and energy to ourselves and our local community. This system will not only help address the food challenges we face here on earth but will also provide valuable lessons learned that will help the next batch of pioneers develop the future of homesteads...on another planet. Join us, as we have some fun, telling our story. Hopefully you'll find it interesting, education, funny, and maybe even a little inspirational.
I'd point out that if you're not that keen on organized Christianity, and don't like it when some Christians use the Bible as a proof text to justify oppression, then the values that serve as the foundation of your worldview is more likely humanism and the ideals of the Enlightenment. Humanism doesn't have to be secular. The guys who invented it were Christians, after all. I don't believe in your God, but I do believe in your message of treating people well. That said, your logic concerning the origin of the universe is deeply flawed. You've engaged in special pleading (God can be uncaused but the universe can't) and a false dilemma (either it poofed out of nothing or God poofed it, when other possibilities exist and you've not eliminated any). That doesn't even mean you're wrong, it just means you used an unreliable method to arrive at your conclusions, and this is why I reject the claim even if I still share most of your goals.
why do people fear satanic worship or secret societies. why do people have a problem win a hive mind mentality. why do people dislike biased group think. why do people refuse to get customed to be spit on.
I’m kind of worried about the wood frame of the garage door, on the inside, rotting. My regular garage does not have this problem but single garage (right next to it) does.
Instead of spreading out the cable a simple way to create more light would be to simply bundle them together to create a more focused stronger light. Then use the beam with mirrors to spread the light over a lager area... And obviously you're going to need a lot more fibers to create enough light to cover an entire green house.... Just heard about this experiment and I'm very intrigued. . . Looking for Dr Kei Mori's 30ft tomato plant.is it a myth?
I did pretty much this exact same thing 14 years ago back in 2012 (3/4" ply bottoms, VERY thick PP liner, concrete footers for base). Talk about a ton of work! Lasted great up until recently. Somehow, somewhere there is a leak / hole seemingly in the PP liner, not even sure how it would have happened. Pulled back the gavel but haven't been able to locate it. Also, all 3 beds started leaking at the hole where the syphon drain was. Once they start leaking the ply is quickly ruined and can't get them to seal back up.
I signed up last night and I’m looking forward to trying the products. My only worry at this point is that Purium is an MLM/direct sales company; I really wish they would have chosen a different business model, as I’m not fond of MLMs due to lots of previous experience and research.
Do you have ann expansion tank in your setup? It seemed to me that your system was switching on/off at a fast rate to maintain the setpoint pressure. What pressure are you set at? What kind of nozzles are you using? I’m looking to setting up an Aeroponic system and just want to know what components(pressures, flow, etc). Thanks
I'm looking to become 100% self-sufficient as I approach retirement, for fun, because I'm an Engineer and a huge nerd. Buying property to start building out this year. Aquaponics, off grid power and heat, etc. some greenhouses, nice shop. It's going to be fun.
I realize that this video is 3 years old and cannot find any follow-up video to evaluate the results of this addition to your garage door seal. Did it work? Did it keep all of the water outside the garage? Have you driven any vehicles across the floor seal and did the seal stay whee it was glued to the floor? Thank your for your response.
Sheet plastic is going to vibrate unless you have a vacuum table. You can cheat with a downward spiral bit that pushes the material down when it cuts. This is also a good case for using double face masking tape. Misters will give you a cleaner and faster cut. Lastly you need a second spindle mount if you haven't done it already.
Your video ended with out discussing what plants you can grow in cold water for eating. I co-chair the Trout-in-the-classroom in MD. I have been looking for plants to use if we add aquaponics to our TIC program. TomG2
I've been working with this program for the past decade with all my clients. I've helped thousands of people. My average client was 25 pounds in the first 30 days. I've been juice fasting and utilizing herbs for detoxification for 33 years in this kit makes it very simple for the general public.
With the way you building it you'll never get no more than probably a 45 efficiency with rocket mass first of all you want your intake air to come from outside not from inside of your Greenhouse you're just drawing all your air out of your greenhouse and bringing cold air in second you want the whole Mass heater and the rocket stove made out of fire brick and Clay brick you don't want you want to put a batch box that way you can feel it with logs and they'll burn longer but you have to draw the air to feed the fire from outside no matter what if you don't you're beating your head up against the wall if you want to use a large Mass even in a large mass you can use thermal electric generators to power everything in your Greenhouse a lot of people don't know that
I watched this around when you first published i was wondering if there was any update you could give on how this all worked out. I know you are busy with your eden grow system. But if you can just make a quick follow up post or something thag would be wonderful. Since i have been looking into making this systeam integral to my homestead when i build my totally offgrid home.
Guys this is amazing review, me and my gf were very similar. Totally agree in mood changes, but at the end of the day support each other is the goal..!! I’m in my 3rd cleans.. more challenge every time, specially with active athletic life and low sleep.
Hey man "Rad" is the best way I think, to climb any thing, but the pulley or carabiner to pass the rope must be connected in the upper hole of the jumar, that gives you more distance to kick and climb better way Always connect a lanyard to the jumar and block the Grigri with a overhand before you go down I like to practice every detail before I try in the trees/ ain't like the surprises! 😊😊 Hugs! Loved your video
Cool setup and I want to watch more of your videos to check it all out. But this video is completely misleading based on the title. There is no information in this about rainbow trout in aquaponics except for the fact that you used them because you are in a cool climate - something anyone thinking about rainbow trout would already be aware of.
good experiment. Theory is useful too, can save doing some experiments. (Experiments are fun though, when affordable). If desired, Bing AI is useful for doing a lot of "what ifs" the "Balanced" setting seems to be the best. Remember: Junk IN = Junk OUT
This was a 9 out of 10 !! Only reason I didn't say perfect was you didn't show how to slowly descend with the grigri. Perfect for a newbie looking to get into climbing. Thanks for a great video
