Do you have to use a chiller to keep your roots from growing pythium? How do you keep your roots healthy when growing prawns?

How many Kwh per 24hrs ?

From the specs on their page. looks like their 2-rack unit draws 540 Watts. So about 13 KWH per day if on-grid at $0.13/KWh (national average cost) coming to $50.70 per month in energy cost for each rack. Per day it costs at least $1.69. Up front cost is about $4000 for the base unit. A 4-rack setup to feed one person appears to be at least $16,000 up front and $202.80 in energy costs each month Half that if following a day/night cycle I suppose. I imagine there are some volume discounts with reuseable system hardware.

for the single decks 2.52kwhr/day for triple deck 6.31kwh/day

@@calfeggs Thanks for the detailed breakdown that is the perfect way to answer that question ... the total avarave draw per hr for each unit is the most useful info so that would make it 0.25kwh per level (for the grow lights fans and intermittent pump cycle plus shared overhead of the controller power supply that would be the same no matter how many levels it's probably going to be based on 16 hrs of grow light on per 24 hr, as that is optimal growth time for most food crops, and Cannabis needs longer for the first 1/3 of there life but it evens out with the lower flower photoperiod

thats full day based on electricity monitor plugged into system. lights are only on for 16hrs
