This channel addresses riding skills, reviews and perspectives critical to becoming a masterful motorcyclist with a slant to ADV (adventure) riders. Knowing I can only train a fraction of the number of riders in the world I share free lessons and advise gained over my 26 yrs as a professional motorcycle trainer. I have traveled and trained riders all over the world. I don't try to make riders safer I try to make each ride more enjoyable for you. I want to make each day a little brighter and each ride more valuable. Life is too short to waste and the time we have to ride is limited so let's make the most of every km/mile.

Air box under gas tank for X....total FAIL. Dumb review. Who wants to spend an hour plus accessing your air box to clean it after proper off road riding??? FAIL. enjoy ur X
Hey man, I'm using a pair of Gaerne Fastback boots (which is an enduro one). I heard you said that it's not gonna work with enduro boots, but is it impossible to tuck it in? I love this pant and would like to try it but there is nowhere selling this in my place.
I was worried for a bit on new bike on rutted dirt road. Trying to ride up out of a rut. That was one of my worries. I did get a lot of practice taking off in loose gravel at stop signs.
Excellent rant Bret. Been thinking about these matters a long time. Loyalty to what, fir what. Etc. I like your closing statement essentially saying 'let the bike stand on its own merits'. P.S. one of Mine was made in India and I'm fine with that!
some good points but treat the bike like that. cmon man! Who ride like that spinning the tire everywhere . screwing up the trails. not where i come from
Trail braking ?? Keep talking about trail braking ..Trail braking, trail braking.. So ..5 minutes in and still no explanation what trail braking is ? How to trail braking ..why is it called trail braking ..WTF does trail braking mean?Say Trail Braking one more time! Samuel L. Jackson
Never ridden one but apparently too top heavy, ( like GS 900) too heavy in general and you have to take the fuel tank off to change the air filter. Plus, you're paying the extra Ducati tax for the name, if you buy new and the ridiculous servicing costs. Daft.
I was a bike messenger for many years. The move is the same on a bicycle. It is more efficient than mounting by throwing a leg over and then moving forward AND it definitely looks cooler to roll up to a coffee cart with a smooth ass "cowboy" dismount! 😂
6’ 7” an an AT. Thanks for great tips. I don’t get the windshield comments. I’ve changed to the higher oem windshield and it has improved wind deflection. How does ‘cutting the windshield down’ reduce air turbulence? (Note that I understand that a higher windshield can cause injury).
It looks like we are similar size and shape. Could you give the Back Sweep, Width and Height of your Flexx handlebars. I have maxed out all adjustments of OEM and still need a little more. Also did the normal BarkBuster kit for BMW work on the Flexx handlebars or did you have to go with a different part #? Thanks for putting out so much great information.
Good stuff as usual. Question. Why start at valve ? If a TPS is installed it will prevent you from dropping it into the trough. If you start at the opposite side from stem the bead can drop into trough without anything in the way. Or am I missing something here ?? Thanks
Congratulations. It's the best analysis I've seen so far. A question: is there a difference in the analysis with cold and hot tires? or Can you do the same test on tire operating temperatures ? I believe that your measurements will have different and maybe overturn the result.
came back to this one as reminder, its hard to loose 40 years of doing it wrong the younger generation have so much advantage for the learning curve, but perhaps they loose out elsewhere, thanks again.
I think Chinese manufacturers and engineers have reached and in certain aspects have exceeded the base level of traditional brands. I am personally can't wait when chinese Kove 800x Rally becomes available because I am dreaming of replacing my DR650 to the similar (weight wise) bike with a twin. Sadly none of the traditional brands care to produce a truly lightweight adventure bike (or a big dual sport with a twin).
No Gaerne boots? One of the best, if not the best boot makers and still manufactured in Italy. I’ve run SG10 and Fastback Endurance Enduro Boots. Not sure why this guy says to remove the metal tips on these types of boots. Not good to compromise structural integrity. If you’re concerned about slipping, just add some skateboard grip tape to the metal and move on.
Next thing you're going to do is show up at an IMS and give a talk about how we can eat well while motorcamping because motorcycles can carry food from the local store.
GREAT VIDEO! I live in the Deep South and temps here often get in the triple digits. For years I’ve worn just a carbon fiber half helmet. But now I’ve change my strategy for what to wear based on where and when I ride. Highway speeds or when I travel, I wear a full face/modular helmet. For just “local” riding and lower speeds, I still wear my half helmet. If I’m a a rally in a State that doesn’t require a helmet, I might ride without a helmet if it’s just a 5 min ride to get from point A to B and under 30-35 mph. I ALWAYS ride with ear plugs that have a sonic filter in them. Been riding most of my life and have severe tinnitus when I don’t wear them. As for the 5 year rule, I pay little attention to the time and more attention to when the helmet “loses its fit.” Once it becomes more of just bowl sitting on top of my head, I get a new one. Appreciate all the time and effort you made putting this info into the video. One of the BEST I’ve seen on this topic.
I'm curious to know, is it traction control or torque control? Or, do some manufacturers offer both? I ride a '22 base Africa Twin which as far as I know does not have traction control but does have torque. Why do people keep saying traction control?
I’m not tall I’m 5’11” but I ride a Suzuki dr200 so a smaller bike. Anytime I try to stand I feel like it just doesn’t fit me but I also don’t know what I bike should feel like🤔
I just bought a 2023 CFMOTO 700 CL-X Heritage. It's a great looking bike and a lot of fun to ride. I watched a bunch of reviews on RU-vid and all had good to great things to say about it. Time will tell as far as dependability and parts. But, for a 66 year old looking to get back into riding after 17 years away, so far I have no complaints what so ever. The is a Chinese built bike with ties to KTM and Kawasaki (I believe).
Dear friend ,Hope you are fine .This is Jack who is the brand manager of Carpuride , We really like the professionalism of your content and We want to collaborate a dedicated video with you ,how can i contact you ?
So we are on one-way streets, or why can we use the whole width of the road? On public roads I have to consider another rider coming in the opposite direction. And that enforces me to stay off the left part of the street. So for right hand corners - do not cut anything, just stay parallel to the right edge of the street. Anything else is gambling, dangerous.🙀
