Menuda BASURA! 73s
I really wanted this radio, I really wanted to like this radio but, I ordered one with a second battery that promptly shorted out, once I charged it. dead... day number two, ( after a few good QSO's) I noticed no power output - zero... after charging it on its cradle .... I'm wondering if the stun/kill feature somehow engaged ? really weird behavior . my good old UV5R is about 12 years old, and it has never had any issues- ever , and it's so worn out that the keys are worn out- it has been everywhere with me. so this whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't know if this is a CHIRP issue or a stun/kill (somehow) or charging issue? I'm going to try flashing the firmware - hoping that it solves the TX issues? friends say - so what it's a $30 radio, but so is my old timer.
Sorry you're having this experience. I haven't has any of those issues. I would email TidRadio or whoever you bought it from and ask for a replacement. I've heard about people overcharging with USB-C and burning out the battery.
@W6IWN_Radio I think I got a lemon.. already reported the battery, i just don't want to report the radio , they will think I'm the fault. I'll just use it as a receiver. Or just harvest the batteries for other stuff. Very unhappy, I thought these things were great, hearing all the good videos. Don't want another one, too many strike-outs. 73 !
That's one Hell of a trek! WOW! BTWW, Big Agnes is based out of Steamboat Springs CO. I have plenty of their gear and have been super happy with the quality.
@@W6IWN_Radio Thank you so much, I have my technician test tomorrow and contacting the ISS is the first goal that I want to achieve. Actually the whole reason for the Technician test is so I can contact the ISS...I guess we will see what happens from there. Thank you!
I'm returning the H3 I got the other day. It can hear NOAA, and the airband, static on GMRS, not a peep out of any of the ham repeaters I used to get the the Baofeng UV-5R.
Was anyone transmitting on the ham repeaters? Did you (if you're a Ham) ask for a radio check on the GMRS or Ham repeaters and ask for a signal report?
i have both.. the h3 more features i made the last upgrade 240530.. can you tell me whats the model of the antena that in the vídeo? thanks Evandro Brasil pu1wcp
Good tips. I used the USB-C cable, I held down the middle PTT button. The firmware update 240530 fixed a number of issues, including SCAN on broadcast FM band. 🙂
@@W6IWN_Radio the Quanshengs do it just with firmware , the version firmware i use the ssb sounds bad the version that someone i know which is more up to date the ssb tx sounds ok
@Knarf14 that would be awesome if TidRadio would add that. Better yet, make a new model similar to the qaungsheng. It would have to be open-source. 👉 @TidRadio
@ariellaplata4711 Here's a video I did on it with the links in the description. Thanks for watching. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Hnc6mrwtMgo.html
My 220 channels disappeared moving to Ver 240530 when I did an upload (read radio) on latest CHIRP Next 20240531. Had to reenter, but all ok now. The TID CPS also fails to show 220 channels even though they exist in the radio.
My TD H3 is GMRS, chose that download it is a .rar file. Open it, it is a .exe, okay install it. My screen does not appear as yours does. Click Open, walk the path to the folder nothing in there as yours shows. My folder does not contain any of those other files nor folders. Thus, I am now stopped. Uninstalled the downloaded app.
@@W6IWN_Radio Hi Bobby, thank you for your reply. The .rar did open then installed the .exe, which is their install app, but it did not provide any .bin to work with. Last night I sent an email to Tidradio via their site contact, explained my issue. This morning from Tidradio I received their ZIP file, GMRS_240530; impressive turn-around. Just now successfully installed their update on both TD H3.
@@W6IWN_Radio It displays the three modes, 1. HAM 2. GMRS, 3. NORMAL. Being as the firmware name is GMRS_240530, my guess it is GMRS. However, firmware usually affects the entirety of a device not one element. Oh well, the radio does work well.
